4 days of some Food, some Wine and the Great Flood of 2011!

Yummy desserts!!!
I had to read this as the "Great Flood" reminded me of my last stay at Coronado Springs!!!:sad2:

Flying Fish is now at the top of my list of signatures I want to try! I've read so many good reviews of it recently! It might not be next trip (we are planning a trip with my parents and they aren't big seafood fans), but soon! :goodvibes

Well, I just HAD to comment on this report because my friends and I were there for the "great flood" too!! What crazy weather. I never want to see another poncho!!

We arrived on Weds and were at SSR (for the first 2 nights) too! AND...we were at Raglan Road on Weds. night, and, of course shared Ger's bread pudding for dessert! Gawd is that stuff to die for or what?!?! I had the pork, which I liked, but wished I had chosen the shepard's pie, which looked wonderful on my friend's plate. Our other friend got the chicken and mushroom pie (in the sky) and she raved about that too. This was my first visit to Raglan and I can't WAIT to go back! It was beyond wonderful.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip. I'm wondering if we crossed paths....your DD looks kind of familar!!!:rotfl:

Tutto Italia Saturday Oct 8, 2011

We had an early ADR for 4:30pm. This was the first seating and we were all kind of glad to be out of the rain. This was DW’s “must do” this trip. She loves it there. Originally we had tried to book it for our February trip but realized it will be under renovations then, so we booked it for this trip instead. We were seated pretty much bang on 4:30. We got a very nice table for 6, but it was right as you walk into the restaurant, so I was not too happy about it, but it turned out to be ok in the end. Our server was a nice young lady whose name I have unfortunately forgotten. She was good at her job and was very pleasant and attentive.

They started us off with the Bread Basket, olive oil, Pepper, olives and Mushrooms, and the basil butter:

As was the case with our last meals, DW and DD did not get an appetizer and I did (I am sensing a theme here….) I got the insalata Mista. Sorry, I was hungry and forgot to take a picture of this. As usual, it was very good and fresh.

For the Entrée, DD & DW got the same thing, the cheese Cannelloni:

My DD had this on our last trip, but this was the first time for DW. They both enjoyed it very much. They said it was fresh and hot and had a great flavour.

I had the Casarecchi:

This is small pasta with a Sausage Ragu sauce, topped with grated parm. I have had this before and it is delicious! Needless to say, this didn’t last long at all!

For dessert, my DW and I both had the Lemon Riccota Cheese Cake topped with fresh strawberries

Again, we have both had this before and it was very good.

DD decided to have the Cannoli:

She loved it and really liked the plate decoration.

Overall, the service was great and we all had a good time. Most importantly, we had time to DRY OFF!....lol….this will definitely stay on our list and hopefully once it is renovated, it is better than ever!

Thanks for reading.

Tell me about it, I was pretty dry under my raincoat, but my feet and shoes were soaked!

My BF's son had the sheppards pie at Raglan Road and he really like it. It is quite large though so make sure your hungry when you order it! ;)

Not sure if we crossed paths, but it wouldnt surprise me at all! I often see people and think I recognize them from previous trips

Kona Café Sunday Oct 9, 2011:

I was really looking forward to this meal as I had heard lots of great reviews for the breakfast here. You see, all of us were a little apprehensive about this. Our good friends who came with us this time, were the one to introduce us to Disney and the very first meal we ever had together at Disney was the Ohana Breakfast. We have pretty much done the Ohana breakfast each time we have gone, as it hold a special place in our hearts. So this was a big change for all of us!

Our ADR’s were for 9:25am and we didn’t have to wait long. We had a nice table and a very nice server (again, I have forgotten her name).

My DW and I shared the press pot of coffee and I had the liliquoi (splt) juice. My DD had Tea and the same juice.

My DW is a huge eggs benedict fan and so of course she had to try the Samoan:

She really liked it. She said the Pulled Pork hash instead of the traditional Ham or Bacon was a little different, but overall it was great.

My DD had the plain pancakes:

She said they were fluffy and light and very good, but after all, they were just pancakes….She enjoyed them just the same.

I was torn between ordering the Tonga Toast and getting the Big Kahuna….well, my nic is TheBigMan, so I went with the Big Kahuna:

It was very good; the Pancakes with Pineapple and Macadamia Nut Butter were Awesome!

We all enjoyed our meals and liked the atmosphere…..but no offense, It wasn’t OHANA!....I would go back, but maybe we will alternate and go every other visit….:rotfl:

This is the third rave review on Kona eggs benny in the last month or so...I think I am going to have to check it out!

Love the pics. Cant wait to try that new dessert at flying fish! One thing I must confess and sorry about this is the Casarecchi reminds me of meal worms. I would of had to send it back:sad2:.

It is a bit creepy looking isnt it? :lmao: The sauce is awesome though, might have to request the sauce on a different pasta

OMG!....:lmao: That is exactly what my DW said!....I however had no problem gobbling it up!

Tutto looks so good! We are probably going to decide between there or the new Mexican place. Have a while to think about it but both options look and sound delicious!

I think we all agree on this one!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl2:

Liberty Tree Tavern, Sunday Oct 9, 2011:

DSC00037.jpg

Since this was our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, we decided to book Liberty Tree Tavern for the Turkey dinner. We thought it would be a good idea to have a traditional Thanksgiving meal away from home.

Our ADR was for 6:45pm. We arrived around 6:35 and checked in. We then proceed to wait for an hour for our table!…..this was not good. We were told that people were loitering at their table because of the bad weather. I think this was a poor excuse.

When we were finally seated we had a nice table and a very nice server named Moe. Overall he was not too bad, but could have been a little faster with refills and getting more food together.

First he brought out the salad and the rolls with butter:

The salad was fairly good. It had a nice dressing on it and was enjoyable. The rolls were kind of sweet for my liking.

Next out came the main meal, Mashed Potatoes, Veg, Turkey, Pork, Steak, stuffing, Gravy and Mac & Cheese:

I have to say this was not very good at all. The best thing about this was the Green Beans and the Mac & Cheese. The meat, especially the turkey seemed processed and the gravy was so thick and salty, it was almost inedible. It thought it was much like KFC gravy. Basically we ate this because we were hungry, not because it was good.

For dessert they brought out the Apple/Craisin cake with Vanilla Ice Cream:

This was ok, but nothing special at all.

Overall, we were very disappointed with our meal here and especially disappointed because this was our last meal of the trip. We will not be back here again, I can tell you that.

Well, that’s it for my very first Dining review. I hope you enjoyed it. Overall we had a very nice trip and lots of great food. I am looking forward to our February trip as were are staying Concierge at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Can’t Wait! Bye for now!:thumbsup2

Never been to LTT for dinner because the menu doesnt do it for me but their lunch is fantastic!

Thanks for the warning on LTT. I hate salty anything. Very nice report, short and to the point. Looking forward to future ones. :goodvibes

Good to hear about the LTT - I'm not a big fan of the food they serve at dinner so I wouldn't even really consider it, but the lunch menu looks pretty good. Still, waiting that long for your table with an ADR is just crazy!

I'm craving Kona's macadamia pineapple pancakes so badly right now! That's my favorite breakfast at ANY restaurant! :lovestruc

Really sad to hear about LTT...we've never tried it but we've got an ADR for thanksgiving night ourselves! May cancel it and repeat our 2009 thanksgiving meal...nuggets at Pinnochio's Village Haus! :lmao:

I'm sorry to hear that LTT was bad, we've gone there every trip and it's always delicious. :confused3 great trip report! what was your favorite place of the whole trip?
