Going to be at gf for 4 days with a 20 month old. Want to take it all slow. Have a feeling she will be just as happy at the hotel pool than running around the parks.

So 2 questions:

1) what non park activities would you recommend? Boardwalk? Chip and dale campfire? Etc

2) we have a park hopper and will spend one day at wdw from 3-8 probably. But since we have the hopper what park and specifically what rides/show for another park early in the day from about 9-1. And what specifically would you recommend for Mk from 3-8.

Thank you!!

Is there a reason you aren't just spending the entire day at MK? It seems like a lot of lost time to park hop for one day especially with a 20 month old. I would save the extra $ for the park hopper and stay the entire day at MK.

At MK spend the time in Fantasyland for DD. If you don't do as suggested above, is she into Disney junior or toy story or muppets or little mermaid if so the DHS in morning might entertain her (there are rides there for adults as well), if no then I would suggest AK for the animal safari and nemo and lion king shows. As you are at GF I would suggest full day at MK.

So you are going for 4 days and spending just a few hours in 1 park? I would not get a park hopper, and just do 1 full day in MK. Actually I would have 4 day tickets but, do what makes you comfortable.

We've done this. We did one long (8 am to 11 pm) day at MK, but three full days doing non-park stuff staying onsite. We were surprised by how our kids valued pool time, or riding the monorail/exploring the Poly time, just as much as the MK time.

Yes OP, I'd go all MK, as others suggest.

I would not do the park hopper either...Save the money. Maybe get 1-2 day tickets and do one day MK and one day either AK or DHS.

I think this is good advice. We considered adding a second park day to our plans. If the kids were bored, we would done another park. But as it turned out, we were more than fine with just one day.

Hi All

thanks!

I should have explained I have 10 day no expiration park hoppers - so I was going to use one days worth. So I figured I would take advantage of the hop.

make sense?

and what about non park activities for that age - is chip and dale campfire fun for a little one?

FW is fun! Yes, the chip and dale campfire is cute. You can also do a pony ride at FW.

I wouldn't do Boardwalk with a 20 month old. You could walk from GF to Poly and explore. Take a bus to AKL to see the animals

Since it is a multi day ticket, I would just not take advantage of the hopper portion on this trip. It just sounds too stressful and I think would lead to a very cranky toddler. There is just so much for that age at Magic Kingdom. It will also be a lot more relaxing not hopping.

so what about the other days?

Have you taken your little ones to chip and dale campfire? Any other things a 20 month yr old would enjoy?

On our 3 consecutive non-park days, we did: a Fort Wilderness Day (and Wilderness Lodge); a lounge all day at the pool day, with the Boardwalk area in the evening; and a transportation day (especially the monorail resorts). We had a car, so we got some nice naps driving around Orlando. We also did several table service meals as walk-ups, but late August was ideal for that with low crowds.

Campfire is fun and low-key, but it is a bit of a trek to get there using the internal bus, just be prepared for that. At almost 2 my son had an absolute blast at Mickey's Backyard BBQ. Nothing special about the boardwalk for a little one. Riding the boats can be a great adventure. You could go to Animal Kingdom Lodge at look at the animals there and maybe have lunch or something while you're there.
