4 Day Trip Suggestions HHN two nights

I bit the bullet and bought 4 Day park to park passes. We fly in on Thursday morning and out Sunday night. The difference in price between 3 and 4 days was $0 And about $60 total for three people from 2 to 3 days.

Not going to lie...the trip was poorly planned. We were heading down for HHN. I bought Rush of Fear Passes...thinking we could attend three nights...not realizing there is no HHN on the 28th.

Questions....

1. Since we can do HHN over two nights, and we will be at the park that day...do we need express passes?

2. Is there any place a scaredy cat can go to decompress. I have already told my husband and teenage daughter I might have to skip the second night.

3. Any suggestion on what to do on day one? We should arrive at the parks around noon and Islands of Adventure closes at 6. US closes at 5.

I know ppl have asked these questions before...but any suggestions for my crazy trip are appreciated. I am leaning towards not buying any express passes.

We need to be in universal studios when it closes on the HHN nights to get into HHN as early as possible, correct? I have never been to either park...that is one thing that confused me a bit.

Thanks for your help.

suggest you do ioa first on friday and move over to the studios around 4
look around the park so you have an idea of the layout while it is light outside.

do check out the site so you know where things are located in the parks.
rides, restrooms, eateries, etc.

stay in the park at one of the holding areas and get a head start for the houses.
lines will be okay for the first couple you do.

have no idea what time regular house line waits will be
i follow different forums on hhn nights on face book and various readings on those there.

going to assume that both friday and saturday nights for hhn will have crowds.

maybe buy the ep for all 3 of you for the friday night so you will be able to do all the houses and bill and ted show before it closes at 2:00 am.
for saturday, decide then if all will do hhn and make a decision if you need to buy the ep.

you can buy an ep in advance or while at the parks.

think you will have a better idea once you have been to hhn if the ep will be needed

i buy the frequent fear pass plus express and hit all nights except saturdays.

do the math and see if buying two days of hhn tixs you come out ahead.
if so, contact ticket sales and see if you are allowed to be refunded for the ROF passes and buy single day tickets for the two nights you are going.

If you stay in the park and then attend HHN, it's called Stay N Scream. There are three areas in the park that you can stay and then they will let you into the Houses in that area before the main crowds are let in. This is a great way to go through the Houses with small lines. HHN takes place in Universal Studios Park, so you would need to be in the Studios Park before close. If you want to tour IOA in the AM and then go over to US for Stay N Scream you would need park hoppers.

Friday and Sat nights will be crowded and an Express Pass was very helpful to us navigate the crowds. We went through the Houses that we liked 1st and then used our Express Pass to go though the Houses again later in the evening.

There are plenty of spots where there are no Scareactors and are out of the Scare Zones.

The math on Rush of Fear is still about $40 better than two nights of HHN. Especially since it is Friday and Saturday Night.

I found out it is a Microsoft Ignite conference event Thursday night. We will chill at the hotel.

Seriously thinking of getting to IOA early Friday and going back to.the hotel at 1 for a nap maybe a shower and coming back at 3/4.
