Hey guys :)

So a 4 day park hopper ticket is $199.00
and a SoCal Select annual pass is $144.00

We're planning to go the last week of Jan or first week of Feb (which aren't blacked out for that particular pass).

And I realize that this is a really obvious question, but I just want to be 100% sure if this is correct because the savings are pretty huge.
So would it be more cost effective if we got the SoCal Select Pass? (I do live in Southern California).

Also, I'm assuming there's no Early Entry (Magic Morning) for Annual Passes? Is this correct?

Thanks to anyone that helps! :)

Yes, it would be more cost effective for you to get the so cal pass. You do loose the MM.

How about getting a three day pass that has MM and then on your last day converting it to an AP? Disney gives you full credit for the hopper ticket.

This would be a great plan, but the AP he is "upgrading to" needs to cost more than the parkhopper. Three-day parkhoppers are currently $179. (at ares travel).

Definitely more cost effective to get the SoCal pass, I have one. You never know - you might end up back there again once you have the pass and make it even more cost effective.

And don't forget the discounts on food with and AP! :thumbsup2 A good trade off for MM, in my opinion.

Wow such helpful replies :goodvibes
I didn't know that you could convert your 3 day park hopper to an AP on the last day! Gotta put that into consideration... Thanks HydroGuy and DangerMouse :thumbsup2

PinkBudgie, that's true! It's not like the parks are so busy then anyways (I hope). I probably wouldn't need MM

Thanks everyone so much! :mickeyjum

That is what we did last year. We bought our annual passes and went for a week. We will be using them again this year for a week. So we got 2 whole weeks out of the annual passes for less than what a 3 days park hopper would have cost us. For us it was a no brainer since we have no desire to ever go when it is packed (ie, blackout days).

Good plan about getting a MM & converting! :thumbsup2

We bought a So Cal cheapie pass because it was the most cost effective option for us. We live 5 hours from DL but still are considered So Cal in terms of things like this, TV programming, etc. Anyway, on our last trip in May we converted our 2fer tickets on the last day (because we decided we needed 1 more day at DL!) & got full credit for them towards our pass-just make sure you do it while your ticket is still vaild.
