4 a.m. - are you kidding me?!?!?!??!?!?

I'm sad that I'm missing it this year - working the 7pm-7:30am shift at the hospital tonight and tomorrow night.:sad1:

I guess I don't understand why people care? If you don't have to go and you don't have to work in one of the stores... why does it matter? If you want to sleep... then sleep. If you want to get up and go shopping... then do that :confused3
.

Just people conversing and chit-chatting about whatever..:goodvibes

I don't get old navy opening that early when their sales aren't even that good. $15 for jeans? I can do better than that on their clearance rack any old day of the year.
According to the ad we received in today's paper, Old Navy is open today at noon. :guilty:

It's just conversation.. Why does anyone care about "anything" that's posted on the DIS? "What kind of stuffing do you make?" "What do you think of J&K Plus 8?" "What do you top your Christmas tree with?" "Where are you going for Thanksgiving this year?" "Are you bummed about the holidays this year?" "Where are you and what's the temperature in your neck of the woods?" "Are you getting the H1N1 flu shot this year?" "Do you get along with your in-law's?"

People conversing and chit-chatting about whatever..:goodvibes

::yes::

The same sort of stuff you'd chat about with your friends or next door neighbors.

I guess if that sort of thing isn't your tea, maybe the Community Board isn't the place for you!

I just discovered that the item I want at Best Buy is already on sale. I'm mulling over sleeping in until 6 or so now.... ;)

if you want something at best buy, you maybe to late, the line for tommorrow, starting forming yesturday.

i personally am leaving the house at 1:30am.......old navy opens at 3am

I doubt that people are waiting at Best Buy for the item I want. It's a game.

I can't imagine lining up for so long! Besides don't they hand out tickets?

I just finished a good portion of my shopping online.. Woo hoo!! :cool1: I have another order that I haven't submitted yet because I'm pretty sure that within the next 24 hours the prices will be reduced even more..:thumbsup2

Now I have to wander around online and try to find a few items that I want for myself - via a phone call request from my DD and her DH a little while ago.. Really all I can think of is books - but I prefer used books from half.com - soooooo much cheaper.. They have a "thing" about buying me used books for some reason, so I guess I'll just make a list of them and leave it at that.. I really hate to see them spend more money than is necessary though..:sad2:

I was all set to be at Sears at 4am for the 40 inch Samsung....

...until I check online and it became available to buy online and pick up in the store earlier this week!! DH called the store and the woman said, absolutely not, it will not be available until Friday. Well, I purchased it on the website anyway and they sent me an e-mail yesterday morning that it was ready to be picked up! It's already in my living room waiting for the Verizon guy to come on Tuesday and set up my new HDTV!!!

Now I can sleep in on Friday! I was kind of looking forward to it though...it's kind of thrilling! Oh well....

That's in case you drop some food on your clothing at dinner today. You can rush out & get something new to wear before dessert. :cutie:

So, do their relatives bring them turkey & stuffing to munch on in line? :confused3

On Saturday Im waking up at 4am to go sit in the woods to wait for a deer to walk by. So you guys aren't really that crazy.

Good point. :lmao: My brother in law has done this for years.

I am at work now but will be there at 5 when Target opens. I go every year and love it. The poeple around here are always so friendly. Never see any of that crazy stuff.
But if some store were smart, it would be genius to have a Black Friday door buster sale starting at 1pm. Everyone starts their sales early and have them end at 1pm. So if someone were to start the sale at 1pm, all of the shoppers would converge at that store when all of the other door busters are over! And the people who don't like getting up early could be in for that as well.

Actually that could cause a worse situation than the poor guy who got trampled last year at Walmart.

You have the tired, disgruntled, angry, impatient shoppers who got up at 3am and didn't get to their store in time for the doorbusters at 4am. Their caffeine has long since worn off, so they are now going through withdrawal. :crazy2: They realize this is their last chance for a doorbuster. :yay:

Mix that with people who got up at a civilized 10am, had their first coffee :surfweb: and have an abundance of fresh energy, ready for their first doorbusters, and it could be a nightmare. :scared1:

And for all of these reasons the store doing the 1PM deal should erect bleachers and charge admission for us to watch the ensuing car wreck.

:lmao: Now that's how the store could make money!
