Got out fast pass + informational booklet in the mail yesterday telling us it was almost time to do fast passes...yesterday was day 59, so a little late. But it really did not provide any info I did not already know...and it is always fun to get Mickey mail!

And I just did my on-line check in and made requests for Jamaica and a corner room. I did put that we would be arriving before 7am because in a perfect world we could be...but I did not mark the box for early room being more important than our requests. I also really wanted to request a ground floor...just prefer that and since there is no elevators at Caribbean Beach, it never hurts but I think the corner is more important to me. And since you can only make two requests (which I think is not enough especially when an island counts as one of them) those two won out! We have always has a corner room at Caribbean Beach and I really like it...plus it will look nice with our Christmas tree in the corner with a window on both sides! I can always hope for a ground floor room still (we have always has a ground floor room too). We have a water/pool room booked so I am really hoping for Jamaica 45 right on that corner by the bridge...but the way my luck runs, I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Booked January 1 -2, 2016 at Quality Inn & Suites East Gate for $105.00...but I am not sure...there is not a lot of option...especially cheap option. All I really need is somewhere to get a good night sleep after hanging out all day, probably at a park, Disney Springs, or the water park and before heading home the next morning but some of the reviews sound bad. Now I know, a lot of people are much more picky than I am but bugs and "shady part of town" catch my eye. There is no cancellation penalty so I will cancel if I find something that feels better or if someone has some real life experience to convey...anyone???

Nevermind...changed my mind...cancelled the Quality Inn.

I then booked a night on January 1, 2016 at SpringHill Suites by Mariott in Altamonte Springs/Maitland...for just more than the Quality Inn. It is about 40 minutes north but it is on our way home. And it is a suite with two double beds and a pull out sofa (instead of a roll away for an extra $10 at the other one). It has an indoor pool and free hot/cold breakfast.

Then I booked a night on January 2, 2016 at a Hampton Inn in Smyrna, TN (which should be about half way home). It was slightly more but not much and is also a suite with two beds and a pull out, indoor pool, and a free hot/cold breakfast.

And I came in just over what I budgeted for (about $20 more). But I feel better about these two places than I did the Quality Inn...after all, we are still on vacation. Plus, if we stopped for McDonalds for breakfast, that alone could run us near $30.00...if we stopped at a sit down place to eat, we're talking closer to $60 or %70 so this way, breakfast is included.

Both are just a credit card hold and no fee for cancellation prior to 24 hours so if something else comes up, I'm still good but I think I am happy with the ones I booked. One of Skye's requests for the ride home was hotels with indoor pools...so she'll be happy.

52 more days!!!

Well over the weekend I pulled out all Tyler's Disney t-shirts and a Disney sweatshirt. He may have one for every day.

I pulled out Cary's few Disney t-shirts, mostly Marvel actually. He may have five.

I pulled out Skyler's Disney T-shirts and tanks. She has quite a few but she's really not a t-shirt girl so I am sure she does not have one for every day. But she is also hoping to Disbound a few times.

I actually do not have any Disney clothes except an old hoodie because I am not a t-shirt gal either.

And Dylan has only a couple of Disney t-shirts and those may be stained...so not sure yet...I did not get around to his stuff yet.

We found some Mickey, Minnie, and Marvel bracelets at Walmart but we were unable to find any Olaf ones yet. And actually one of the ones we though was a Mickey turned out to be Cinderella's carriage.

We still have not gotten much further on tip cards or the autograph book but we are counting down the days. We have been so incredibly busy, there's just no time. Football season is finally over...they went 0 & 9. Now he can start to work a little more. Nutcracker is getting longer because of getting closer tot he show. The 6th grade class (two homerooms) at Skyler's school (only in the Academy side, not the regular kids) are coming to the Monday field trip show...she's so excited! She is now going to be Minnie Mouse for one of the competition dances she is in and Tinkerbell for the lower level ballet class she is taking. She is hoping to get to be Simba for the big competition production number because she is the littlest one and they are planning on someone lifting "Simba" over the edge of Pride Rock at the end of Circle of Life...so she's hoping she gets it by default. LOL! Our cars keep seeming to need more and more work which keeps causing me to borrow from vacation savings...and it's not making me happy. I mean, it's good we have it to be able to get the car fixed but geeze! Madnitory OT has been lifted but voluntary OT is still available so I am trying to still get in as much as they will let me before vacation (especially with car issues!) so I am still running like a chicken with my head cut off but I know I'd kick myself in the butt when my check came it if I knew I could have but chose not to.

So just really counting down our days and really, really, really need a vacation!

46 MORE DAYS...
I always seem be here to post the day before a nice milestone number (like 45)!

Well, so much has happened in our lives in a round little nutshell. Dylan is going to live with a Great Aunt in Kentucky where a lot of his Great Aunts and Great Uncles live and where his Grandmother will be heading to when his Grandfather passes. He did not want to live in our home anymore. We found out he has been stealing from us to buy other students used shoes and other things, a phone form his brother (who he is really not supposed to be seeing, lying about staying after school to make up work he missed when he was in the hospital the last time and really going to play video games with his brother, stealing from Walgreens (which is on the corner by school), and smoking pot. Most of this was suspected but not known for sure. Now we know. Friday I came home to him on his school issued computer in his room (which he is not allowed to do) doing some not so nice things with a bunch of food out of my cabinets there and a cell phone. He proceeded to throw books at me and call me names no one should ever say at the age of 15 to anyone, slam doors, tell me he hopes I die, and on the way out after I told him to get out he kicked my car while screaming down the driveway. The police were called. He called his father from his brothers home. The police went there and called an ambulance to take him to the hospital again...that's where he wanted to go...he tried to say the word "suicide" in order to make it seem like he was suicidal just because he knows that is really all it takes to get him a vacation at Hotel St. Joes. Needless to say, this was his last straw. We have had more attention from family members and his mother in the last two days than he has had in 9 years. Again I was called names I don't deserve as was Cary...by a woman who left her kids, didn't look back, had another almost immediately and then one more! So now Cary has called the police again to file a complaint for the threats Dylan's mother gave...and I have to watch my back and my kids all because of a selfish mischievous child's lies and a family full of people who want to point blame rather than help. Of course, I am the bad guy. However, Cary has been cussed out by his ex and his adopted brother about what a horrible person he is...and neither of them has any room to talk!

So anyway, I e-mailed my online travel agent this morning to remove him from our reservation. Tomorrow is our 45 day mark and we are already paid in full so we might incur a $50 change fee but I should get back about $1000 I think. So I should have our AP upgrades paid for after that. I am contemplating downgrading our rental car to a Malibu...it would save me about $500...but concerned about driving thru the mountains if the weather is bad. A larger car (minivan) might be better for that. I was also considering changing to a RAV4 because that should fit my needs but that only saves me about $100 but is the less room worth it? In a minivan, there will be plenty of room for everyone, luggage, Christmas decorations, a cooler, and moving room. Plus the general model is a Dodge Grand Caravan and I am considering purchasing one of those after the new year so it would be a great time to drive it for a long time to see if I really like it. Decisions, decisions!?!?!?

Sleeping situation improves also because now Skye can sleep on the murphy bed, and Tyler will get his own bed. We were going to have to bring our blow up mattress for Dylan but now we will not have to.

So while I feel like a failure in one way, I am so relieved that I don't have to safe guard my whole world anymore. I can leave my purse where ever I want to and not worry about money missing, I can buy food and not have to worry about locking it up, I can buy "things" and not worry about them disappearing, I can sleep in my home without worrying that I will wake up with a knife over me. There is an instant relief for all that!

So do I need to change my ADRs or FP+ to remove Dylan?

On the ADRs does it really matter? What about at Cinderella's Royal Table? Will we get charged for 5 since that is the ADR or just who show up? Will it be a problem anywhere?

For the FP+, will Dylan disappear off of my MDE automatically once he does not exist on my reservation anymore? Or do I have to remove him? Will the change affect anyone else's' FP+?

We bought our new Christmas tree on Wednesday evening. On Thursday I put it up. We have not decorated it or anything (other than the lights that are pre-lit). This is our first Christmas tree...we had a very old, smoke ridden white-ish one that was left at the house we were renting the first year and a real one last year but I prefer a fake tree because they are easier, I can have it up longer without it leaving needles all over the house, I can manipulate the branches to make my Disney ornaments safe and this year, a real one was not going to work for us anyway. So we did it...it was in the plans with out without vacation though so it just got done a little earlier. We usually put our tree and stuff out over Thanksgiving weekend but since we will not be home for over two weeks of prime viewing time we are going to go all out earlier this year. Halloween is all down and just needs to be boxed up and there are a few turkeys around but not many. Othereise Christmas will explode all over our house in the near future!

24 more days!!!!

I've had a hard time keeping up! All last week (from Saturday thru yesterday) I have been sick...home from work in my last real week of being able to work overtime...overtime I was planning on having for spending money!!!! Now I am stressing a little! Not big time stressing because everything is covered but spending money will be in short supply. It started with a sore throat and by Tuesday night I was in ER because I was super dizzy while laying still in bed! Although they put my diagnosis in as tonsillitis (I don't have tonsils anymore) and said I came if for a sore throat which I absolutely did not as I would not waste my time at the ER for a sore throat...it was the dizziness that brought me in. It ended up being "a ton of fluid behind my eardrum"...that is from the doc that put my DX as tonsillitis??? SO I have been on an antibiotic, pain meds, and a med for vertigo...then Friday, the day I was supposed to go back to work I still was getting dizzy (less, but still dizzy) and my Iritis had flared up really badly so I headed to the doctor's office and had prednisone added (for the eye but would probably help with the ear) and was told all seemed to be on track...just gotta run it's course. UGH!!!

Somewhere since we last talked I changed to a Malibu type rental car...the price difference was just too much! I am saving a bit over $500 by taking a car over a mini van.

On Saturday evening our Magic Bands came!!!! The excitement really kicked in then!!!!

I think everyone has everything then need for the trip. I have pulled out a bunch of clothes that we will not be needing between now and then so have in a way sort of started packing. The Christmas decorating is in full swing and almost done. Skye and I started our autograph book.

It's looking to get busier and busier for the next two weeks but Mickey's House will be a reality very soon!

So I figure I better get some sort of day plans down so I know at least where I'm trying to get!

Day 1 - December 18, 2015

Arriving at Caribbean Beach anywhere between 7am and 10 am depending on when we left and how driving is.

IF WE ARRIVE EARLY, I am not expecting our room to be ready, although I am hoping! We will grab a small breakfast at Ole Port Royale and depending on how we feel and the weather either swim or relax in a hammock or head to DHS.

IF WE ARRIVE CLOSER TO 10am we will head right over to DHS for lunch at 11am at 50's Prime Time. My dilemma is to drive there or not. I suppose we could since we're already in the car and it shouldn't be super craziest yet but I really would rather park that car and grab a bus...plus DHS is so close, it's not a long bus ride.

Anyway, after lunch, I assume around 1pm at the latest, if we drove to DHS we will drive back to Caribbean Beach and hop a bus to MK. If we took a bus to DHS we will grab a bus to the Contemporary and walk to MK for the 3pm Festival of Fantasy (we've never seen it and today is the last day it runs for our vacation).

After the parade, around 3:45pm we will grab a bus back to Caribbean Beach to get into our room, decorate, unpack, relax, and get all fancy for our dinner. We chose tonight to be our big fancy dress up dinner. Mostly because we wanted to do one and we knew this would be one day that we would be back at the room and be able to freshen up.

About 6pm we will grab a bus to the Contemporary for our 7:15pm dinner at California Grill. It is a MVMCP night so hoping the fireworks show will be on around the end of our meal so we can catch that and the EWP from there before hopefully monorailing (is that a word?) to MK after dinner and grabbing a bus back to Caribbean Beach for bed (hopefully by 10pm or 11pm at the latest).

Day 2 - December 19, 2015

Today is our first full day emersion.

We are heading to Disney Hollywood Studios today...open 8am - 9am EMH and 9am - 10pm for everyone. Skye has designated this the day to see as many shows as possible...we'll see how that goes once we get there!

So the plan...

6am wake up call.

7am bus to DHS

8am join the crowd to attempt to ride Toy Story first thing with a small wait...hopefully. I'm allowing an hour in timing figuring too much is better than not enough!

9am ride Star Tours

10am breakfast at Hollywood & Vine...mostly for the food because while we know who the characters are here, we are not familiar with them as the kids were too old to get re-interested when they change was made in line-up...but I am sure once we are there we will enjoy pictures and singing and dancing with all the two year olds too!

so going with Skyler's schedule we have ...

12pm Frozen Sing Along

1pm Lights, Motors, Action

3pm Indiana Jones Show

whatever else we can fit in is bonus or if we decided to skip something today, we at least have some structure (which is what I feel Disney is trying to stress everyone out about with these FP+s)

4:10pm lunch at Sci-Fi Dine In

6pm Osborne Lights (quickly this night)

7pm Fantasmic!

9pm walk to the Boardwalk

9:45pm dinner at Flying Fish

Bus to Disney Springs

Bus to Caribbean Beach

bed by 12:30am hopefully

Day 3 - December 20, 2015

Somewhere in the first day and a half we will upgrade our passes to Annual Passes (probably on the first day) and we will attempt to secure Fast Pass + for the first few days...not holding out a ton of hope for the headliners but anything is better than nothing as far as I am concerned.

Our main park choice today is Magic Kingdom...open 7am - 8am for EMH and 8am - 1am for everyone. So....

5am wake up call

6am bus to MK

try to head to either 7 Dwarfs or Big Thunder first and ride one then the other during EMH...then head off towards Fantasyland hitting what ever we can on the way.

10:10 breakfast at Crystal Palace

we will pretty much go with the flow after breakfast and do what we can until about

1:30pm monorail to Epcot...open 9am - 10:30pm

if it's a quick transition do Nemo and explore the Living Seas until

3:05pm lunch at Coral Reef

here we have two options...I am leaning towards pushing ourselves to get as much in now, before the bulk of the holiday travelers get there...plus I figure we will not be completely worn out yet...so in that case we would monorail back to Magic Kingdom and do all the things we were not able to earlier or that we want to do over until about 8pm when we'd boat over to Grand Floridian...OR we would bus back to Caribbean Beach and hang out, swim, nap, freshen up until about 7:40pm when we would take a bus back to Magic Kingdom and a boat to Grand Floridian ...

9:10pm dinner at Narcoossees

11pm monorail or boat back to Magic Kingdom

depending on how we feel after dinner, and likely what we chose to do after lunch, make our choice between catching the bus back to Caribbean Beach for bed ...OR heading into Magic Kingdom to enjoy the long hours...

BED
anywhere between 11:30pm and 1:30am???!!!???

Day 4 - December 21, 2015

We're heading to Animal Kingdom today...open 8am - 7pm. So...

6am wake up call

explore and do whatever else we can before

10:30am breakfast at Tuskerhouse

following Skyler schedule again, this is a show day...

2:45pm Flights of Wonder

6pm Nemo

and see and do anything else in between those

7pm bus to Beach Club

8:30pm dinner at Cape May Café

10pm walk to Epcot thru International Gateway

10:30pm Illuminations

11pm bus to Caribbean Beach

BED by 12am

Day 5 - December 22, 2015

this is our Epcot day...open 8am - 9am for EMH (although we are going to miss it!) and 9am - 10:30pm for everyone...even though we've touched ground here before! So...

5:30am wake-up call

6:30am bus to DHS then walk to Beach Club

7:30am breakfast at Cape May Café

9am enter Epcot through International Gateway and head to Soarin'...if the line is not too long ride standby otherwise explore other options

9:40am - 10:40am FP+ for Turtle Talk

12:25pm - 1:25pm FP+ for Test Track

2:30pm lunch at Via Napoli

3:25pm - 4:25pm FP+ for Spaceship Earth

at this point we have some flexibility...we can either hang out and explore World Showcase until about 8pm then catch a bus to Wilderness Lodge or bus back to Caribbean Beach and nap and freshen up until about 7:30pm then catch a bus to DHS and another to Wilderness Lodge

8:50pm dinner at Artist Point

10:30pm boat to Magic Kingdom

At this point, we again have options that will most likely depend on what we chose to do earlier... we can either catch a bus back to Caribbean beach for bed OR head in to play at MK until 1am

BED somewhere between 11:30pm and 1:30am

Day 6 - December 23, 2015

This is another Magic Kingdom day...open 7am -8am for EMH, then 8am - 1am for everyone, and then 1am - 3am for EMH!!!! So...

5am wake up call

6am bus to Magic Kingdom

7am head for 7 dwarfs, Big Thunder, Space Mountain and whatever we want and can do

10:10am - 11:10am FP+ for Haunted Mansion

11:20am lunch at Tony's

1:40pm - 2:40pm FP+ for Pirates

2:55pm - 3:55pm FP+ for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

5:30pm dinner at Kona Café

7pm Monorail to Magic Kingdom

8pm Holiday Wishes

10:30pm Celebrate the Magic

11:30pm Main Street Electrical Parade

Stay and play as long as we want to or can handle it!
unfortunately tomorrow is an early morning...

9:35pm dinner at Ohana

11:35pm monorail to Magic Kingdom

bus to Caribbean Beach for BED

Day 8 - December 25, 2015 - Christmas Day!

We are spending the day at Epcot...open 8am - 10:30pm for everyone and 10pm - 12:30am for EMH. So...

6am wake up call

7am bus to Epcot

8am breakfast at Akershus

10:35am - 11:35am FP+ for Spaceship Earth

11:40am - 12:40pm FP+ for Soarin'

12:50pm - 1:50pm FP+ for Journey into Imagination

2pm lunch at Tutto Italia

At this point, we again have a choice to make...either bus back to Caribbean Beach for a nap, freshen up until 7:30pm OR hang out soaking in Christmas at Epcot, story tellers, Candlelight Processional, etc...it will all depend on how we feel at that point.

8:35pm dinner at Le Cellier
