4.33 years is WAY too long between visits!

Just got the e-mail that my online travel agent has received, and is sending out to me, our travel documents!!!!

The last piece of the puzzle...


8 more days of work ...
8 more days of school for Skyler ...
9 more days of Nutcracker (including the last 5 days being performances!) ...
12 more days of school for Tyler ...
16 more days till we climb in the car and head south!!!!!!!

Hopefully at this very time in two weeks we have arrived at Caribbean Beach (or are very near)!!!!!

...and Skye and I are sick. I have so many little things I want to get done and have no time to get them done...and if I manage to have time, all I want to do is sleep!

Skye has regular dance class tonight for an hour. Tomorrow she has to be at dress rehearsal at 4pm (and we are about 1.25 hours away from there in good traffic) so I have to pull her early from school. Wednesday she has to be there at 5pm so I may still pull her early from school. Both nights she is there until around 8:30pm or 9pm...so by the time we get home it will be 10pm -10:30pm at the earliest! Thursday and Friday she has a 8am cast call for three field trip shows (one show plus rehearsal on Thursday and two shows on Friday) so we should be home by 2pm or 3pm on Thursday and by 6pm on Friday at the latest so those will be my good days for getting some vacation things (ie. packing!) done but we will be so tired I don't know that I'm going to feel like it. Saturday is two shows with a cast call at 11:30am...we will probably not get home until after 10pm. Sunday is one show (this is the one Cary, Tyler, Tyler's girlfriend (Natalie), and I are seeing) with a cast call at 11:30am and we should get home around 6pm when my parents are coming to our house to "do Christmas" since we will not be there for real Christmas. They figured it would be easier for them to come to us since we will all be so tired. But somehow I now have to figure out an easy meal...maybe something in the crock pot. Monday she has her last show for field trips. Her class is coming for this show. Cast call is at 8am and we should be home by 2pm. We then have a doctor's appointment that evening at 7:30pm. Tuesday I have an appointment for a mammogram that the doctor has been bugging me about and I have been putting off. Wednesday Skye has dance classes from 5:15pm - 7:45pm. And Thursday morning at 9am we pick up the rental car!!!!

We did have a slight change in plans. Skye's class is going on a field trip to a hockey game that day so she's not going to be at school. So we just have to wait for Tyler. One of the finals he should have taken on Friday he was able to reschedule for Tuesday during class and the other will not budge and will only follow the schedule and make him to it after regular classes on Thursday where they have scheduled in time for make up exams. So it looks like we will be waiting for a text from Tyler telling us he is done. I think the scheduled time on Thursday is 1:40pm - 3:15pm...I wanted to leave earlier than that so I am hoping I can get her to allow him to take it in class another day or during the time he has lunch on Thursday. But at the latest we will be leaving around 3:15pm...which is about an hour later than I wanted to be.

BUT...we are getting closer and more excited.......​

ONE MORE SLEEP!!!!!

Nutcracker was a huge success...crazy and tiring, but a huge success! Skyler was complimented personally, three separate times by the three directors on how beautifully she dances and how when she's on stage their eyes are drawn to her. She was told that they know she wants Clara and if she keeps going, it is in her future! She dances for a park district and these are directors at an actual dance school...as are most of the other dancers in the production...so this is a HUGE compliment for her!

So in the last two days I have tried to get everything organized for our trip and I feel like I have never done this before. I am regretting cancelling the minivan because packing seems like a lot and with the minivan I really wouldn't have to worry about it. The weather is unusually warm, and not what I was expecting do now I am re-thinking everything we planned. I just feel like I'm lost and am forgetting things while feeling like I have too much already!

But, in about an hour I will technically be on vacation!!!! Mickey, here we come!!!​

And soon I hope to start my trip report!

I know it's been a while...a long while! But for some reason this time I had major Mickey withdrawal! It was a great trip, a long trip, it was hot and crowded...we had some casualties and a Merry Christmas. But in all of that, I was not in a hurry to see, hear, or talk about anything Disney...which, is VERY unlike me.

Until recently when I have been struck again...and as of yesterday we have 79 more days till our next trip!!!

So I better get cracking on this trip report!!!
