256 MORE DAYS!!!!! :boat:

It is awesome to have all of these new families joining us on the Magic!!! Welcome to our thread!!!

Julie, how old is your Abby (the youngest, correct??) She does look about Tori's age. Tori JUST turned three on July 29th (but already acts like she's 10!!). Would be cool if they were in OC together!

SO EXCITED!!!!

Question to all: Are you going to be doing shore excursions? If so, what will you be doing?

We kinda felt it was a real dissapointment in Grand Cayman and Cozumel but we were really limited because Tori was only two and DCL is such a stickler about ages. So, we're not really sure if we want to fork out the money again, do it on our own, or just stay aboard ship. But, as Julies stated, we have 256 DAYS LEFT to decide! Hmmmm, is that enough time?? heehee!

Hey suzie

My son is going to be 4 on the cruise (he's three now for all you non-mathematical people) and he is a real ladies' man already. He has three girlfriends right now (one has already asked him to marry her) but I am sure he can make room for one more on the cruise! ;)

As for shore excurions - a topic I am daily investigating right now. We are eastern veterans but not with kids in tow. About a page back I was having a rather lengthy discussion with OhJulie about St. Thomas (by the way Julie, that eco-hike is to St. John and is a snorkeling adventure but the snorkeling is too short in my opinion and I can't remember if we had to bring our own equipment - we had equipment we rented from the ship for the week).

As for St. Maarten, we had booked a private tour guide for the day, but I became uncomfortable giving her my credit card number via e-mail so I haven't firmed up those plans yet. We have had no problems in any port finding a tour guide when we docked.

I am still trying to figure out what is best to do with the kids at both ports. What I am leaning towards now is:

St. Thomas: Coki Beach and Coral World (on our own).

St. Martin: An Island tour with a lengthy beach trip - then in the late afternoon having the kids in the club and Flounders and going back to Phillipsburg to get some Love Potion (a great rum we like from St. Maarten) and try all the free samples.

Great! Another family with a little one!!!! Excuse, Big Boy....I know that Tori likes to be called a Big Girl.....

We had such a hard time with the shore excursions on the Western because of Tori's age and now really want to sightsee and go to the beach. Find it hard to believe that some of the beach excursions have a 5 year old age minimum on them! Here we go again!!!! Disney absolutely refused to let us do the excursions for 3 year minimum age when she was just 2 months shy of her birthday, so we ended up being very dissapointed in the excursions we did do - especially Cozumel!! Ugh! DH had a fit over the money we spent for that one and how it just plain old stunk! So he wants to try to do things on our own, where we can come and go.

We told Tori last night that we are doing another cruise next April. She asks every morning if we are going to Disney or a cruise. I guess with 9 WDW trips under her belt, she expects to go every few months now! When I told her about the cruise, she crawled out of bed, got under and grabbed her Princess backpack. She tried to put it on her back and told me she was ready to go! LOL! She's a riot! How are we going to survive the next 8 1/2 months?>!

So, is there a list of everyone going? Would love to see who so far (kids, etc.)! I am such a planner and want to know everything RIGHT NOW! Can you tell I'm impatient!?!?!

Really looking forward to getting to know everyone and finally meeting on the cruise! Chow for now!

Belle&RellasMom, sorry I haven't been around in a while. I'm still here and trying to catch up. It will be hit & miss with me for the next few months. We are moving again, but at least not so far north this time. I guess you would call it central Manitoba this time. Everybody seems to have young kids so far. Isn't there someone going on this cruise with teenagers :confused3 I guess there is still time for others to sign onto this thread.

BTW, I'm still waiting on those martini recipes so that I try them at home :drinking1

:earsgirl: :earsboy: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Holy COW!!! Where have you all been (not that the usual team from last year's cruise weren't enough for me - definately NOT!)?

Sorry Julie, I actually had a pretty good running list going, but I have been away on work travel and missed the question. Good use of your time, though - excellent list!

HI there ohsodisney !!!!!!!

Posting pictures: You need to upload your photos to either a photo sharing site like photobucket or imagestation or to your own web site. Then you can copy that photo from there and post it here.

Countdown clocks can be had from a variety of sources. Check out the Cruise forum and see where everyone got their's from. Mine have the web site listed next to them.

As for meeting on the ship. Yup, we will have a meeting place and time. May even through in a Birthday party or two!

Wow!!!! This thread is jumping!!! Looks like a great group!!

Well, we are still a no go, and on top of that... I am a no go for Vegas as well. :guilty: I am being sent to a geek conference.

It's not all bad... The conference is in Orlando at the Dolphin resort, so I will be there for 4 days then moving over to Old Key West to take advantage of our DVC membeship one night before returning. WooHoo, back to Disney on an all expenses paid trip!!! :cheer2:

PJ - Missed you guys in June. Hope you all had as much fun as we did!!

Julie - that's one heck of a list... you know if we were able to add our group there would be 20 more.

To the newbies.... Enjoy and watch out for the MI group and the rather quite philly contingecy!

BTJ- HGP is going to be at a geek conference in October at the Dolphin too! I think it is around Columbus day weekend. If that is the same conference, you guys should get together for a Martini(or 2).

We had a great time at Disney-loved the rain(everyday). No seriously I did, I would have DIED if it stayed that hot all day long. We all loved the hotel, wished I wasn't such a compulsive planner so we could have spent more time there! Just looking forward to the cruise again.

The good news for me (aside from being allowed the pleasure of spending a week with the Fabulous Tuggle family :dancer: )is that Kate will be the same age as Hannah was on our first Disney cruise, so all the clothes and dresses that I bought her will at least still fit Kate.

Also, it sounds like we have some birthdays on the ship that week-HGP will again be celebrating his birthday(yes I know-A1a is for driving....) and Kate will be 5 on board! We should take up a Stoli collection early on so we don't wait until the last night to buy all that alcohol! We did get it on the ship I think. Along with $9.00 bottles of Crown Royal...or $19.00 either way, it was yummy! :drinking1

My girls(yes both of them) slept over at the neighbors house last night so I am enjoying an uninterrupted cup of coffee on the deck! Gotta love that!

PJ

Bow Tie Joe say it isn't so, you need to go, if you aren't part of the show, for sure you will blow.

Let me picture this, two of the coolest geeks I know having Martinis in the Big O, where do I sign up.

We are checking in from the wonderful Upper Pennisula of Michigan, in Marquette last night (the kids went wading in Lake Superior, not as cold as I thought it would be ), and heading up to Houghton today. I know it is not Manitoba, but it is as far north in Michigan you can go, it is 10 1/2 hours of driving time from our house. I can actually make it to my parents in North Carolina in the same time, or be almost 2/3 of the way to Disney in the same amount of time.

PhillyJen, when you say fabulous all I can think of is the new show on MTV called Trailer Fabulous, you got to check it out. Also, tell HeadGear he is not that cool and should post something.

Gotta to go to an appointment, so I am out.

Tom pirate:

TT-I was thinking more like the show on VH1..."The Fabulous Life of.......The Tuggle Family!"

HGP is cool, in fact, he is donning a tool belt(and not much else) for a long awaited home improvement project...

Hey, has anyone who knows Jason and Travis checked out threecircles lately? It has taken on proportions unknown to mankind.... Check it out!

PJ

::yes:: :scared1: Yeah - its freakin me out - holy organized!!! (the forums are great!)

Anyways, just checking in.

Birthdays are galore. Tom and I were talking about this earlier. My birthday will be the last day of the cruise - I will be 35. We are taking the cruise for my son's 4th birthday which happens right before we get on board but will be celebrated on board and our anniversary is the week after the cruise so it also will be celebrated.

ohsodisney - are you going to AKL right before the cruise or after? We are booked into the VWL for the Thursday before the cruise so we could meet up prior to the cruise. We may be crazed though as we are staying one day in the parks - I did this last year and its a blitz for sure.

Is it April yet? Golly I am so excited about this cruise!

Has anyone stayed at the Hyatt the night before the cruise and then taken the shuttle from the airport to the cruise? Is it a good hotel?

Amy

HI THERE
WE BOOKED AKL FOR TUESDAY THRU SATURDAY MORNING AND THEN TAKING THE BUS TO THE CRUISE . WELL MY HUSBAND OF COURSE IS GOING TO HAVE HIS FRIEND WITH HIM FOR THOSE DAYS BUT IT MAY BE FUN TRYING TO MET SOMEWHERE  WE TOOK ALONG A FRIEND SO WE CAN GET THE BUNK BED SUITE :crowded:
WE ALSO BOOKED THE HOOP DE DOO REVUE . HAS ANYONE BEEN TO THAT YET ? ALSO WE ARE DOING TO DINING PACKAGE AND WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS TRIED THAT YET AND IF IT WORKED OUT WELL ? I CAN'T WAIT I HOPE THEY LET ME HAVE A FEW DRINKS AT THE POOL :drinking1
ARE YOU GOING TO ANY PARKS ? WE DECIDED THE AK AND DISNEY WOULD BE GOOD FOR THE GIRLS .
WELL WE ARE OFF TO LAKE GEORGE THIS WEEKEND FOR A FAMILY GATHERING AT SIX FLAGS :grouphug:
OH YEAH THIS MAY BE A STUPID QUESTION BUT WHERE ARE YOU STAYING ? I DON';T KNOW THE INITALS .I HAVE BEEN TO DISNEY MANY TIMES BUT ONLY STAYED AT THE GROVESNOR OR OFF PROPERTY .

We're staying at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge (a Disney Vacation Club resort) on the Wilderness Lodge property. We're only staying Thursday night and then going to the Magic Kingdom on Friday for the kids. If I had my druthers I would be over at Epcot because I still haven't done Soaring or Mission Space.

Its a long ways off, but I think we will be eating at Whispering Canyon Cafe on Thursday night. We may be super hard to meet up with, so it probably was a bad idea. We're going to try and blow through the park on Friday and make it out to the coast for dinner and some time on the beach at night. Holy commando style, Batman!

(just a friendly reminder, take your caps off for your next post so we can all read it easier)

I LOVE Hoop Dee Doo! I try not to go back to back though as its always the same show. Its a fun time for kids and adults - made more fun through unlimited beer and sangria and inside jokes with all my friends about smiling Jack in the orchestra. But I think on last report, that Smiling Jack is no longer there. We sat up front last time and it was awesome. We also were celebrating birthdays and anniversaries (as we are for this cruise as its the same time of year again) so we had a ton of fun that way too.

By the way, I went to High school in Troy, NY.

Amy, a lot of people talk about doing the day room at the Hyatt after the cruise if they have a late flight and they like it a lot. BUT Why don't you plan on getting yourself over to the coast and stay in Cocoa Beach - it would be a ton more fun and you coul really start your vacation right. I could give you all sorts of recommendations for things to do, but my number one would be go to the beach and the pier and then over to Ron Jons to stock up on stuff for the cruise. You'll definately run into me late at night there on Friday night. It seems silly to me to stay at the airport when you are 40 minutes from fun. Plus it will cost you more to stay there than to stay out on the beach.

PhillyJen - I am coming your way soon. I will be down in the middle of Sept.

I think we are eating at Fort Wilderness lodgre Thursday ourselves because that I believe is on our disney dining plan and I wanted to check out that resort . I'll let you know as soon as we know for sure :)
Have a great day everyone , we areoff to the Adronidacks and Lake George
