CG,

I was on a business trip, I have not abandoned our thread. BowTie is at WDW and I know that he will be back soon, I do have to warn you that next week will be on VaCay w/o high speed, so will have a tough time checking in :badpc: .

I do miss the days of counters on the bottom of each post, this line thing is like going back to the olden days :hourglass .

QOTD:

What came first, the Fruit or the color Orange???

Tom pirate:

Well, next time you call a party and then skeedaddle, you are buying drinks for the entire cruise for everyone!!!!! ;) :rotfl2:

Its been fun, though, keeping this thread up all by myself  that way when people are just stopping by lurking, they will definately know that they have booked on a true ship of fools or one with just one foolette. :sad2:

OK - Tom, I need a roll Call (apparently lurkers look to find something actually meaningful in these threads  - there's a thread on the forum about meet threads)

Currently traveling:

Bella and Rellas Dad and Mom - Tom and Julie
Their cast of 300 other cruisers - just kidding, but its what, 10 families?
castlegazer and DH and kids (1 & 4) - Shyla and Paul

and who else?????

JenLynn is not traveling, right? PhillyJen isn't also, right? How 'bout mermaidpatty? or jrydberg (Jeff and Alyssa)?

OH, and I need identification of parties in this picture (I have it figured out who Pango is and who Tom and Julie are - is that BTJ to the left or right?):

You can see what I look like in this thread:

Hey gang, I am back and what a trip!!! I will post a link to the report once JenLynn has post it! Magically time as always!!! We drove down this trip and it wasn't a bad ride :moped: . Kids enjoyed the DVD player in the car and I watched a couple of movies on my laptop! It was nice having a car down there, and to be able to take our time and not worry about catching flights!!

Quick highlights...

Mission Space was wild... but due to the unfortunate incident a few weeks ago, the wife and kids sat this one out.

Soarin' was loved by all!!

and while not Disney... The kids loved petting and feeding the dolphins at Seaworld!

Illuminations!!! It had been since our honey moon since we saw this show and forgot how fantastic it was!!! We got a little lucky on this one... It rained a bit in the day (actually, it rained quite a bit each day), but it kept it cool and the crowds were no existent! Even leaving was a snap!!

Wow CG, you were a one poster show there for a bit! Nice job keeping the thread up top! Hopefully these guys will pick up the pace once you all get closer to sailing!! I am on the right side of the pic with JenLynn squeezed between Tom and I! The other one is Camera Chris. (you may have seen a couple references to him early on in this thread).

BQOTD...

Welcome back!

I am contemplating the whole driving thing, but I think the added 7-8 hours from where you start to where I start off from may break the deal for us. My husband is pretty set against it as it adds basically three days on each end of the trip.

I am dying to do Soaring too.

QOTD:
Aren't the 'good things that come to those who wait' just the leftovers from the people that got there first?

So sorry I've been quiet for awhile. We were on vacation out West and I have been traveling for work. :wave2:

We are getting excited about the trip. My family (DH, DS and DD) along with my two sister's families will all be on the cruise - and we were together yesterday for the 4th. As you can imagine, we talked about the cruise half of the day! Everyone is ready! :grouphug:

I took the kids to AAA today and got passport photo's - figured I should do it while they are out of school. :teacher:

Julie

OK Julie!!!! Good to know you're still coming along!

Where's LSUtigger?

So here's our new "Who is Going" report:

Currently traveling:

Bella and Rellas Dad and Mom - Tom and Julie
Their cast of 300 other cruisers - just kidding, but its what, 10 families?
castlegazer and DH and kids (1 & 4) - Shyla and Paul
OHJulie - DH, DD & DS
OHJulie's two sisters and their families

Hey everyone,

Sorry I have been absent, but we are on Vaca in North Carolina with only Dial up. It is like not having indoor plumbing, we will be back next week so keep this thing hopping. It only took me about a half hour to post this :badpc: .

Tom pirate:

I am back, refreshed and ready to go!!!

Oh Julie, glad to see you back in the fold, no more lurking and a lot more posting, remember we don't have much time before we set sail.

CG, nice job keeping this thread going, we need to recruit more people, or it looks like there will only be a few of us on this ship.

BowTie, you need to figure out a way to get on board, if you join the Vacation Club you could always use your first years points for a cruise. Probably not the best option, but still an option.

QOTD:

Why do we say "Heads Up", when we want someone to duck?

Tom pirate:

I am starting to erroneously think we will have this ship to ourselves. It seems to not be a popular DIS date for cruising - probably because its just a normal cruise, no double dips, canals, LA street violence, etc. My only hope as a first time DCL cruiser, will be that that means that normal people may notbe aware of all the new stuff and I may still have hope to book Palo. I have to wait until 75 days out as opposed to all you Castaway Club people.

I picked this cruise due to the date and I like eastern itineraries. But must be we're just super uncool.

Anways..... welcome back. Hope it was FUN.

CG,

We picked the Eastern again because of the great time that we had on it the first time. The 2 days at sea right off the bat are a big plus for us, because we loved the ship, so many people said that they want more ports of call, but if we wanted that we would just plan a trip to those places. Another reason is that Key West is not what I would call Kid Friendly, to many that get attention for how they dress and look rather than how they might think (I will get off my podium now). Lastly, Pango said he did not want to go anywhere that he could drive, Key West, Mexico rule that out.

I think it is hard for our group to get fired up as of yet, because we have a Vegas trip, Disney Trip, and Spring Break at the Ocean before the cruise. Give it another month or two when the kids are in school and the weather turns (and it will get ugly), then this thing will rock.

QOTD:

If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a song about him?

Tom pirate:

I seem to recall our old thread didn't really get going until about 4-5 months out, so hopefully more will join in on the fun. :)

We enjoyed the Eastern because we really like the boat as well, but you know just cause you stop at a port, doesn't mean you have to get off the ship. On our honeymoon, JenLynn and I didn't get off at one stop, and we had the ship, basically to our selves! Our 3 night Wonder Cruise, the kids and Jen stayed on board during the Bahamas stop while I ran into town just to get some cigars.

Our one friend, got a little bored on the at sea days, but he's not much of a sit around and relax kind of person. Our next cruise. (yes we are booked to go on a different one) we are taking a Royal Caribean. More activity on board and the stops are more scuba diver friendly. (Belize, Cozumel, Cayman) all incredible dive stops!

Hey TT -- we are DVC members now too!!! We decieded to buy into Saratoga for the 50 year deal instead of picking up a resale. We have to hook up at Vero Beach sometime. We may even head there next summer.

Catch you soon!!

Oh guys, I should have put some smilies in there. I was just kidding. I totally know that this is way too early to get anyone posting except die hards. I have been rushing while posting lately and it shows.

Just to get you all stoked up some more:

CG,

Love the picture that does bring back some great memories.

BowTie,

Welcome Home, you have to check out the DVC Community Board I put something on there for you. We will hopefully be at Vero 3 weeks before the cruise, the Sunday thru Friday of the first full week of April, right now we have ressies at the Beach Club, but we will switch them over at the 7 month window in September.

Tom pirate:

CG,

I do think that more people will join in as we get closer to the date - and once the cold weather :cold: is back we will all be dreaming of Conch Coolers on CC!

We also picked the Eastern due to the fact that there are three days at Sea. On our last cruise my DS LOVED the Lab. In fact, he stayed out later than we did most nights. My DD was in the club and will now be in the lab since she will be 9. They both wanted to spend as much time on the ship as possible.

Of course, this will give us all the more time to kick back and relax. We just got back from a very active vacation to the national parks and we are ready for a more relaxed vacation.

Julie

It is the weekend, and goodness knows I am ready. :cheer2:

I don't know what I am going to do, :scratchin but I am sure I will think of something :drinking1.

Have a good weekend

:wave2:

Tom pirate:

Tom,

I'm with you - ready for the weekend! We did get a bit of a break this week, both of our kids (DS12, DD9) were at camp. We pick them up tomorrow - one more night of freedom! :Pinkbounc
