Once again my Question of the Day.

Why are people so afraid of mice, but yet we all love Mickey Mouse??? ::MickeyMo

Tom pirate:

QOTD!!!!!!

Why is the name of the phobia for the fear of long words :sad2:

HIPPOPOTOMONSTROSESQUIPPEDALIOPHOBIA?

Tom pirate:

Oh - I need a good shot in the arm from you all. I am having second thoughts. I am starting to wonder whether or not we should drop down to a 4 day or a three day cruise and then do some beach and WDW time too. With a 15 month old at that time I am wondering whether or not we should hold off and wait until she is a little older to do the 7 day.

What do you all think?

TT you are just a nut! :rotfl2: It's gettin hot down here in MD. :sunny: And we are just 16 days from our WDW trip

CG - not sure if this helps, but our DD was about 20 months old when we first did a 3 day cruise, and while I don't think she remembers, she did have a good time. In all honesty, I think it is easier to take care of them at the yonger ages on a cruise since they can spend time in their strollers with a nice canopy. I really believe it is much easier to deal with toddlers on a cruise then in WDW, but thats just me. It seems WDW is much more fun when they get a little older and are interested in all the activities, where on the cruise they can participate or not and just relax. Hope that helps you out!! :cool1:

BTJ and Jenn,

I just cleaned out my guest bedroom so I could turn it into Disney Packing Central. We are just 9 days away from our departure for FL, then Disney on the 22nd. Lots to do and somehow I need to figure out a way to keep my kids from bursting into flames while we are there....It is so hot here today I don't know how I will be able to take it! Any ideas? What will your kids wear on their feet? Sandals, sneakers? The cruise was so much easier, as the answer was usually "nothing"! Hope to see you guys soon.

PJ

Greetings PJ!! You guys make it to any of the lacrosse games through memorial day weekend? Hopkins vs Virginia game was nuts!!!!

We got these shoes from lands end... pretty much mesh on the out side but looks like a tennis shoe. And sandles on other days. Figured they would be cool and with the rain the blows through in the after noon they should dry out quickly as well.

We always carry those misting fans to help stay cool. They work really well when you dump some ice in them. But when it gets too hot we head into air conditioned areas, or the pool!.

I will e-mail our cell numbers!!! We need to grab a key lime martini while we are there.

You guys S**K, I want to go. Bow Tie I wanted to let you know that in the United Kingdom you can buy a refillable half yard of beer, a friend of mine bought it once and all I could do was think of how perfect it would be for you. You guys should try beers around the World while you are there, we did it once and I am pretty sure it was a lot of fun.

Philly Jen, I thought you were cleaning out that room so we could come and visit? BTW have you booked this cruise as of yet? If you want to have a great time at dinner one night book whispering canyon and don't tell Head gear Pat, those people are rude and it is fun. Remember if you have any questions while down there make sure you give us a call, it is my field of expertise you know (I am a DisNerd).

Castle Gazer, you have to do what you think is best, but there are beaches on the cruise, there are characters for your young one, but if you feel the need to book a park vacation, there will be plenty of time after the 7 day cruise to go to the park.

And now the famous QOTD:

If something "Goes without saying" why do we still say it???

Tom pirate:

:rotfl2: Oh that was a good one! Someone here at work says that all the time!!!

OK - I'm over it. I was just having a panic attack. WE'RE GOING!

Alright I missed yesterday, so my QOTD is going to be one that has had me wondering for quite a while. So here goes:

Why do people point at their wrist when they ask for the time, but nobody ever points to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is??? :earseek:

Tom pirate:

Ok, now that's funny. :rotfl: Can you tell I am going to be the giggling blond at all your jokes while on board? I laugh very easily, so you will always have an audience.

OK people - let's get it together here. I had a hard time finding us today.

So, refresh my memory. Do you all do late seating at dinner? We are early seating.

Oh and I just booked my St. Maarten stuff - yup this far out. I was reading over on Cruise Critics about Joyce Prince and her being the best tour guide ever - well, I contacted her and booked her. She fills up so fast that it was such a good idea to book her now. She will bring you to wherever you want to go and drop you off and pick you up like a taxi would (but here's the kicker, she has cold beer and water for you in the car) and then she also will guide you through the island and set up whatever you want to do.

This sounds so much better than renting a car. I was going to try and do this all on my own - this sounds more like a vacation to me, being chaffeured around. :teeth:

Never mind - I went back and checked. Julie and Tom and their gang have early seating. Are you guys still with a party of 20 people? Did you manage to keep everyone booked?

I also was looking back ( I am totally procrastinating today) and saw that you all have tons of birthdays during the trip - in my small family alone, we have 2 birthdays.

Do you think it would make sense to do a big birthday party? I was just reading about a woman who did this.

Now is PhillyJenn still booked? My son is 4 so he would be close to your daughter's age and Tom said their were 2 4-year olds in his group.

OK - head out of the clouds and back to work.

CG,

It looks as if we are the only ones out here, Hello is anyone else home?? We have had one family drop out with two children one of them being 4, but we are all still going. I don't think you will see a lot of activity from our group until maybe October, because we are having an adults only weekend in Vegas then and that is what everyone is talking about. The Tour Guide thing looks really cool, last time we went we ended up staying right on the beach downtown, the gals went shopping, we got cuban cigars and beer. It was also Pangos 39 birthday that day, what a great time.

Birthdays are going to be out of control, we will have a 40th (the boat will be rocking and not from a rough night at sea) and a bunch of others. I haven't heard of a big party but it would be something to look into. :grouphug:

QOTD

If Charlie is short for Charles, why do they have the same amount of letters??

Tom pirate:

Wow... CG and TT just keeping the thread alive! Just thought I would pop in at this strange hour. Still at work, trying to get this release out. :badpc: Good thing I don't need much sleep.

my QOTD...

Do you think people will really notice if I am wearing the same thing tomorrow... err today???

Just 7 more days and we are off to WDW... and boy do I need it.

Bow Tie,

I don't know if people today will notice that you are wearing the same close, but I do have to tell you on our last cruise I do remember a couple of people commenting that you never changed your outfit!!!!! :teeth: Just Kidding big boy, would you just go ahead and release that thing and be done with it :badpc: . I am not pleased that someone else is getting ready to go to Disney and it is not us, but if it has to be someone I guess BowTie, JenLynn, PhillyJen and HeadGear with family would be one I am O.K. with. It is to bad about what happened on Mission Space, my two oldest and the Queen adore that ride, in fact Tweener (my middle daughter) who is 6 would ride it 10 times in a row if we let her. I don't like to spin so I do it once a trip and that is it, I feel like crap for about 2 hours after, but always once a trip :headache: .

QOTD:

If corn oil is made of corn, and vegetable oil is made from vegetables, what is Baby oil made from???

Tom pirate:

:crazy2:

Hey, so I thought I was getting on this ship with a cool bunch of people - BUT NOOOOO - low and behold you all are not the cool crowd these guys are - check this out (warning, you will feel humbled and overwhelmed and in need of a nice stiff drink)
