suzie...No I haven't seen Turk 182.What is it about?By the way that beer looks so good. :teeth:

from imdb.com
Jimmy Lynch is angry because his older brother, who was injured as a result of an off duty fire rescue, is denied benefits by the city. At the same time, Mayor Tyler is embroiled in a political scandal that he denies all previous knowledge of. Jimmy begins painting "Tyler Knew, Turk 182" as an embarrassment to the mayor. The mayor is furious at this grafitti appearing all over the city and orders the police to find the artist. Jimmy's "Turk 182" spraypaints continue to appear.
It's a 1985 movie but I do like it. Lot of good actors (Peter Boyle, Timothy Hutton, Robert Urich, Kim Cattrall, Paul Sorvino, Robert Culp).

Hey everybody! I got the Who's Going list on the other site. Please check it out and let me know if I missed anything or anything is incorrect. Or if there's anything else you'd like me to add.....

This is FUN! It's fun to see I have a soul sister - PhillyJen (but I think I knew that already), and fun to see how many things we all have in common.

Off to see what you all are yammering about in my PM box.......

Hi, All! I've been away this past wknd...son's bday party (we've given up celebrating it 3 days after Christmas) at an indoor go-kart track--the local paper was doing a piece on it and five 12yo's will be lookin' pretty cool in their coveralls and holding their helmets...then the Superbowl. :sad2: Don't even ask...I'm happy for the Steelers, and esp for the BUS but am very frustrated, along with many others, not just in and around Seattle. Oh, well. LOVED the goofy pass from Rothlisberger..very cool & quick thinking!

Anyway, so much to catch up on. Susie, I hope your Grandma is still doing okay, I'll be praying--and CG I am sorry to hear about your Gma and the family issues.

Also, Susie--Great beer pic!! We've not eaten there on our trips, but I hear you can get in trouble easily (the fun kind of trouble)

Partypat--My DH went to Europe 3x before we married, once on a whim, and did the hostel thing, Eurail pass etc,. I'm so jealous! What a great time he'll have and so many stories to tell, I'm sure!

Here's a quick rundown of my answers to the poll, albeit a bit late:
Jobs: waitress, transcriptionist, medical coder/biller, medical ofc administrator
Movies: Dirty Dancing, That Thing You Do!, Napoleon Dynamite (I LOVE this type of humor  ) , Newsies (something about music & dancing???)
Places I've lived: Only Washington state!
TV Shows: HGTV anything, used to watch Star Trek, Seinfeld, Friends, etc. No more cable (on purpose--blessing and a curse)
Vacations: Banff, Whistler, Big Mtn Montana, DL/WDW
Websites: DIS, Mouseplanet weekly park updates, Google, Ebay
Rather be: Skiing anywhere, any Disney park, an all-night scrapbooking crop, in an outdoor hot tub at night when it's snowing

QUESTION: On the 13th when the rest of us get to call in, can you just log in to your "My Cruise" and wait for 12 am (pacific time) or can you not log in until 12 am?

Gotta go catch up on the Yahoo site! Sorry I missed so much!

Bella and Rella's Dad,
Here I am.
NOW.... you can quit calling me out.

On a side note- does anyone know the name of the beach that has the huge lizards? DH wants to go to that one.

What island? I am guessing you mean St. Martin. Umm, no, but maybe Coupecoy (sp?)?

Check out that link in the post with the picture of Orient Beach and Galion - it leads you to a pretty cool web site with descriptions of all the beaches. I don't remember seeing anything about Lizards, though.

OK - Last call for wrist bands:
The Roses: 2 Large
Now that I read what the size means, I think a medium is better.

So if you haven't ordered yet, put us in for 1 large and 1 medium.
If you have ordered, then we will be quite happy with the 2 large.

(Now we'll see if size really matters!)
Hey! Did I say that out loud? :teeth:

The Roses

PANGO!!!
Hey great to see you on the board! Man, the testosterone is going to get thick, I have a feeling!!!

Jimmy Buffet, what can I say...We have a Cheesburger in Paradise here. On Saturdays the guy who sings there sounds just like him! It's amazing and fun to sit around and listen.....Wish I could have gone to Margaritaville in Key West but the sun got to me that day....not pretty....

Anyway, just checking before I turn in for the night. What a suprise! Good to see you Pango! Heard lots about you....now, let's see if it's true!

(Now we'll see if size really matters!)
HA!! My first thought was the same - did she really say that out loud?!?!

The Roses

I really don't like hotels by myself, I woke up at 5 and of course thought about the fact that I have two more hours to sleep, when in my head pops up "I wonder if anybody is on the Boards?" It is only going to get worse, I am looking forward to it.

Well all went well last night, I talked to the guy that I made the job offer to and e-mailed him a proposal, he gave me a tentative yes, but I told him to talk to his spouse and sleep on it, so should find out for sure later today. Had a great dinner with the President of my company, a few glasses of wine and you do find out some great information. I work for a great organization and it is always good to be able to find out where you fit in the future.

Roses, I thought it was the Motion of the Ocean, we are going on a cruise aren't we.

Grumpy C. Hook, my ultimate would to be able to move to Celebration, just outside of Orlando, we drive through there when we visit the world occasionally. In fact one time we went through some open houses, both the Queen and I think it is awesome.

Suzie, I glad you understand the Buffet speak, my boy is way more cool than I, so as long as you can interpet what the Pango Man is saying I would appreciate some help. You know you could get Ed off the spot, since more Pirates are starting to show up, he could drop in, maybe.

Pangs, did you hook us up with the Ron Jon yet? I might need a couple of Clicks and a Goombay Smash if we are going to get this party started right. Also you should probably get in on the wrist band deal, I am guessing two adult and one child.

Head Gear, you have been called out twice now, I know that PJ is going to come up with some lame excuse as to your so busy and yada yada yada, all I can say is GET IN THE GAME.

Party Pat, I need a good Napa Cab, any suggestions?

SteveMed, Turk 182 was one of my favorite movies back in the day, I always thought that Timothy Hutton was good in everything.

CG, how about a question of the day? Here we go QOTD:

If you don't pay your exorcist, do you get repossessed?

Tom pirate:

Amy - good to se eyou back on the board! Celebration would be my ultimate dream (next to THE CASTLE but that's a "never gonna happen") but anywhere in the area would be good! Lucky you!

Dad - can I call you that?! - sounds like things were prosperous and not too painful. I get on the boards as soon as I get up also, just to catch up on the night-owls and west coasters while I was sleeping.

Got lots to do today, Valentine's parties to get ready for. Gotta love having a preschooler!

You know you could get Ed off the spot, since more Pirates are starting to show up, he could drop in, maybe.
Ed said he is quite content to get the abbreviated version when I get off. Not into computers much. He did say to say hi to you guys and glad that some of the friends are coming out of the woodwork. BUT he did say he wanted to go jetskiing at the beach. I think you were telling him about it when we met you guys in Nov. He's all excited about it and wants to know the info and if anyone wants to go. He'll do it alone but would rather have people he knows with him. Sore subject for me because at CC last year he went parasailing...and had to do tandem because of the wind. Yup, his partner was a woman! I was not too happy although it made me feel better that the lwoman's DH was on board. Not that I'm a jealous wife but that is a way PERSONAL situation to be in!!! So, if I can't be there, rather someone he knows! Although jetskis you don't pair up.

So, any takers?!

Okay, here's some questions for everyone!

If you have cruised before, what is something you brought that made life in the small cabin more bearable?

What are some of your "don't forget" things you take on a cruise or vacation?

If you have cruised before, what is something you brought that made life in the small cabin more bearable?

I think that the over the door shoe hanger worked great for the bathroom. Lots of little pockets for sunglasses, change, etc along with pockets for lotion, makeup, and brushes that you couldn't put on the bathroom counter because there wasn't enough space. Totally recommend to everyone to buy one, bring it and use it! Great space saver!

Oh! And a power strip. There aren't very many outlets in the cabins and when you have to recharge everything....well, really makes it worth it!

What are some of your "don't forget" things you take on a cruise or vacation?

Water/fan spray bottle for the heat, rain ponchos, my Passporter lanyard holder for my KTTW and money, extra memory disc for the camera and batteries(so expensive on board!), duct tape! (yes, there are a thousand and one uses for duct tape - http://www.exploremaine.com/~joeho/tape.htm), and finally a roll of quarters (for laundry).

Am i reading this correctly? Did Suzie just answer her own questions??? :rotfl2:

Just kidding. Good questions. I gotta get to work right now, but will be back with some answers. My computer shut down last night after I didn't save my latest stuff - some IS BS about needing to reboot everyone. Stupid on my part, but a lot of work just went cablooey - YES, everyone, I do work!

AMY - so good to see you again - Do you want wrist bands (you too Pango), because as noted in my prior posts I will be ordering soon? (was supposed to yesteday).
