Wow!! it's been a while gang!! Lots of new people here!!! Anyway, I wanted to drop everyone a line from WDW!! I am here at my geek conference and, well, what can you say, but at least it is Disney!!

Staying in the Dolphin which is very nice if you havn't stayed before. There is a lack of Disney decore but hey its still a very nice hotel! I will be headed to my Home away from home tomorrow at old key west tomorrow so we will get a little of the disney love before heading back.

Ok... something is very wrong with a group of people that are still examining code at Disney at 10:00pm at night.

Night all

But you're a lovable geek! Plus, you can always think, "boy, those soft muffled booms I hear in the background must be Wishes going off and here I am having sooooo much fun in this windowless room!"

Nice to see you BTJ!

Well, it sounds like I should just bring stuff for the kids.

My Dad's entire side of the "immediate" family is going with us. There will be 20 all together ages 3-63. My parents, aunt/uncle, 2 cousins with their families and my sisters family. 8 kids 12 adults. If the boat goes down that's the end of my dad's line of the family.

I posted forever ago on this cruise meet board but then just got busy.

I regularly read the disboards for DCL and can't wait for the cruise in April, it will be the 2nd for my DD and I and the first for my son and husband. We booked it almost a year ago now but time is flying especially now that school is back in session and I am back to work.

My bad! I went back and checked postings but didn't go back far enough. I am sorry to have been senile remembering your screen name.

well, I think you still deserve, even though you are an old hat, a welcome posting:

Ahhh soo true!!! We had dinner at the boardwalk (whatever the brewery is called), but we caught the fireworks from I believe fantasmic at MGM. What a great time?

I stayed one extra night after the conference ended at Old Key West. I only stayed in the studio since it was just me, but still a very nice room!! It was nice to get some R&R time after the meetings. You know it those things take a lot out of you! I can walk all over the parks, swim in the pool, chase after the kids etc during a disney trip, but after 3 days of conferences, I was wiped out. :faint:

Well minor trip report for you and I will skip the geek stuff... I was at the ESPN zone all day Sunday to watch the games. Even at Disney this place was packed! And it was only like this Sunday. Through the day I had beers (many) hot wings (many) and nachos! all good. It was great meeting all the different people watching an cheering their teams.

Day 2 We (my co geek) had lunch at the brewery at the boardwalk. The burgers were good and the micro brews are pretty good. They have a sampler where you get a 2 ozs. glass of each beer 7 beers total. We had dinner at Kimonos. Japanese restaurant at the Sawn! The sushi was ok, but I have better, but the price was very reasonable. We were just over $50 with the beers and were very full.

Day 3 Lunch at the conference (yuck boxed lunch). Dinner at the brew place again, since we really didn't feel like venturing out. Co geek got the burger again, I had the steak since we hadn't spent any of our food allowance on for the day. Beer flowing freely!! Oh an this was the night I posted here. They were having a "midnight madness" at the conference, so after dinner and we went back since we had some free drink coupons to discover they were still doing the code thing. So we took the free drinks and some snacks, and called it a night.

Day 4 Boxed lunch again... then over to Old Key West when the final session ended around 5:30pm. :cheer2: Time for some fun!!! :cool1: Co geek had to fly out this night, so just me now. Over to downtown disney for diner at wolfgang pucks! Sushi again and it was really good! I was feeling a little ill, i beleive, because of the boxed lunch this time, so it was a nice change. Walked around downtown for a bit and then bought the kiddies their souvenirs (kinda of wierd since we were just there in June), before turning in a little early. (like I sad I was wiped out)

Well that's my Disney part of the trip!

Thanks for the welcome back sign. I really need to figure out how to add fun things to my posts. It took me forever to finally get this picture of my kids on. I would like to change it but I don't know what the heck I'm doing, while I see other people have all kinds of stuff when they reply to threads.

My husband just can't believe I'm the most computer savvy one at work, that tells you something about my department, we all work great together but when it comes to the computers we are the biggest pain to the ITS guys.

I wish I could go to a conference at WDW, one of my best freinds is down there for one now.

Don't feel bad mketting . I still have no idea how to get a picture up . I used the Kodak photo share link for mine :)

DisneyJam - We ate at Wolf Gangs and it was unbelievable the time we waited for our dinner to reach our table , 2 hours ! The first time was great , we ate downstairs and we got our meal in about 45 minutes . I guess it maybe when you go :confused3

Mckenna has been super sick over the past 2 days  . Her fever was 103.2 today . I have to say thou that Tylenol works wonders . After about 1 hour she was bouncing around like a mad women . Kinda thought to myself a half a dose would have been just fine HEHE .

BTJ - I handle my road trips exactly the same way you did. Sounds like it was fun - really. I have tons of fun spending my daily food allowance when I travel. Last month I went to a local place in Jersey for Crab Cakes and Creme Brulee and went next door and bought a six pack of beer and brought it all back to my room and feasted. It was heaven - I turned on the movies and caught up on Star Wars and there were no kids to take care of, just ME! Makes traveling for work slightly enticing.

Anyways, I love upstairs at Wolfgang Pucks too. I love the Butternut Squash Ravioli - which now is kinda normal but when I went there it was a novelty to have it. I still have to get it when I go - its just the best. And I love Big River Brewing too on the Boardwalk - but anywhere that has brewery in its name is usually a pretty good bet for me.

Thanks for the trip report.

ohsodisney, hopefully Mckenna gets well soon.

Finally found a craft pumpkin for Tori's Mr. Potato Head set. Put it together today and here's what we have!

Hey just checking in, spent 4 nights in Vegas than should have gone to the Betty Ford for a week. That time change really hurts, but what a great time in sin city, the Disney for the Adults, definately not a place for kids. We have just over two weeks before the food and wine festival, Sue we will be driving all night on Friday so I don't know what we will be like on Saturday, but I will PM you with some more details.

Welcome back MKetting I am glad you joined back up, it is also good to see my old friend BowTie Joe in the mix. I don't know where all the other cuisers from our party are, but I am sure it will be up to 20 posts a day after the holidays. Well better get to work if I am to pay for all these vacations, but lets be honest that and kids are the reasons we work.

This is the best I could do to represent your malady, Tom - oh, poor Tom. Tom, Tom, Tom (should I include Julie in the detox song?). Oh, how I feel sooo sorry for you, oh yes, sorry, sorry, sorry. :smooth: :rolleyes2 :rotfl2:

WELCOME BACK from Sin City!!!!! I am soooo jealous of you guys!!! Just ignore the green woman in the corner here.

Sooooo, any money won??????

ohsodisney- THat game is addicting,I love puzzles. I can see how you could play for hours. I think I will try it at work tomorrow with some of my students, it will give their brains a good workout.

Hi mketting

Isn't it . I think I'm going to try a puzzle now just before bed . It is 11:30 here in NY and unfortunately I'm still wide awake .

Has anyone been watching hurricane Wilma ? I am hoping it doesn't hit the Caymans to bad since we are going there in 5 weeks . I know they shut down their port for an extended time in Grand Cayman . I feel so sorry for those trying to figure out if thier ships will be leaving port this weekend :sad2: Also Florida took some hard hits last year and I know my MIL lost her roof and her pool cage last year so I'm also wishing the residents of florida best wishes that this will not do the same type of damage .

Good night everyone :cloud9:

Ohsodisney, another New Yorker. I think that cold weather and winter are going to be hear way too soon My friend just said tonight its approaching the time where he asks himself why he lives here. My answer was 4 great seasons, no hurricanes, no floods, no earthquakes and no tornadoes. We have an occasional ice storm but that isn't life threatning.

Well,we're one step closer to the trip, we booked our airline tickets tonight. I got round-trip, nonstop flight tickets with Airtran for $200/piece. I have gotten slightly better ticket prices in the past but with fuel prices being so uncertain I didn't want to wait and I love flying nonstop. We are going to fly down Wednesday before the cruise and visit (shhhh Universal) for a day and then spend a day relaxing before we board the ship on Sat.

My husband and I are Universal freaks! We love it there. I was there for opening weekend of Islands of Adventure.

Since having the kids we have been Disney people once again (I have been to WDW over 34 times - every year of my life). But I can't wait till we can go back to Universal. I love the rides at IOA!

I just gave a friend of ours a gift certificate to Emeril's Tchoup Chop! I am dying to go myself!

No need to whisper here.

I don't have airline tickets yet because I am waiting for Southwest to open up the dates and its driving me a little batty.

Hi Mketting
Where abouts are you from in NY ? We are about 25 minutes from Syracuse .
We also have our tickets . we are flying Jetblue in and Delta home . We are glad we did so because Jetblue was much higher then Delta on the return flight .
I love Universal . I have not yet been to the new Islands of Adventure . I have been to Disney maybe 12 times and once to Disney Land years and years ago when we won a trip for two , not even close to CG . Wow CG thats alot of trips to Disney :)
Did anyone see that you can fly now from Ny to Orlando , Tampa or FT Meyers for $59.99 each way on Jet Blue , if we were leaving for our cruise soon I would definelty take advantage of the fare .There is also amazing rates for other cities and destinations .
Well my girls just came in with water guns trying to load them with water . It's all of 50 derees here so I am going to go have to put a kabosh to that .
