Happy Anniversary, Barb & Len!!!

19 years...that's wonderful!! So, you certainly must do something reeeally big for next year's anniversary...Mediterranean, maybe?? We're having the same problem with the sunlight at night. Not that I'm complaining! School gets out this week, so after that, I won't worry about it.

Congrats on the puppy too--they are so much fun! We had this running list of things that Chester chewed up when we first got him, including the remote control for my camcorder, a VHS movie ("Emma"), an exercise mat, etc. Thank God they grow out of that!

We also have one more roll of film that isn't up on snapfish--it was a disposable camera that got lost somewhere between boarding the plane in Dallas and getting off in Seattle. Bummer, since it was most of our last day including riding Kali. Nothing to do with the cruise, though. We didn't snorkel at all, so it will be fun to see those pictures.

Shyla, it's great that you're so busy with clients! Any chance you could just sort of phase out of your day job into this one? I'm so happy for you that it's working out and that you're off and running with it!

Back to work here too.

Happy Anniversary to our Northern friends!

What kind of puppy did you get? We promised Jonathan we'd get a dog when we're back from the shore this summer. He's been on this kick to get a Siberian Husky - but they have so much hair! Internet research says they're diggers too - but they are beautiful dogs. Then we kind of had him compromising to a Golden Retreiver, but Phil would prefer a smaller dog (actually Phil would prefer no dog). So in 4 weeks, who knows what we'll have running around the house and waking us up at night. I tried to get Jon to settle for his Nintendogs videogame, but no luck.

Trish, nice to hear from you! I was thinking about you and the Roses when I heard something about the Pacific Northwest. I actually know people who live there now! I'm echoing your call for Sue Rose to post that kilt picture!

Suzie, I'm glad your sale was a success, I know you put alot of work into it! Always nice to get rid of the clutter. From what I know from my friends with little girls, they all do the hairdresser thing at some point.

Shyla, I'm glad you're enjoying your new career. It's hard to have a set schedule when working with the public, I certainly know that. But if you're enjoying it, that's the important thing.

Last day of school for my kids tomorrow!

Take care everyone. I miss all our activity too! This thread is kind of like Cheers - someplace you can go to get away from the real world, and where everybody knows your name.

Congrats, Barb and Len! Wow, were you like 14 when you got married?! 19 years!!!! And getting a new puppy...that takes guts with all the other things on your plate! WOW! Post a pic if you can! Tori wants another dog but mommy is just not ready yet. It'll be 2 years this September and still not long enough....

Trish, you'll have to fill me in on the mission trip! How cool. Sorry we didn't get much time to talk the other day. We'll have to try again...and again...

Shyla, cool about being so busy! Great going!

baby name in Islamic/Muslin name books "Ameera: Princess
Nope, sorry Ameera is Hebrew. The Arabic spelling is Amira but we chose to use the Hebrew version since her middle name (Lael) is Hebrew, too. So all together her name means princess of God. Cool, eh?! So now I have a Queen (Victoria) and a Princess (Ameera)! hee-hee!

Got sad news today. My very good friend that lives in FL has been in TX taking care of her mom since before we cruised. She (the mom) passed away from lung cancer this past Friday. So probably another month that she will be there taking care of things....and hubby is home hurricane proofing the house!

Barb and Len Congrats a little late, (I am a guy, and can barely remember my own yet alone congrat others) the Queen and I have the big one fiver coming up this year. I have been a little absent, not as much as some (insert many names here), it sure has been tough to keep checking in, but I will continue to drop in. Thanks for all the well wishes for my mom, she is a tough old bird and is doing just fine resting at home.

CG, as long as Mitt is in there, you will be safe in Mass.

Thanks for all the well-wishes. For the record, I was 15 when we started dating and 18 when we got married. But thanks for making me be younger than I am. Just over two more years and I hit the big 40.

The puppy is just a mix breed. Mother is a lab and father is a german shepard. One of my sisters breeds prebred chocolate labs as well as chitzsus (sp?). I chose to go for a mutt. They usually are healthier and it was free. We just need a large dog for protection against the wildlife around here. We used to have a lab, but had to give her away when we went up north. Too cold up there for a dog. Now that we live "down south" (thought you'd all like that one!) :lmao: it's time for another dog. I'll see about getting a picture of our "Lilo".

Barb, can't wait to see Lilo! What a fun name for a Canadian dog! HAHAHAHA!!

Tom, glad to hear your mom is better. I know how hard it is to be there when they aren't doing well and I commend you on doing it! Keep us updated!

Does anyone know where to download audios of rides or park music? I've been listening to Live365, but I would like to have a copy of those audios to take with me in the van. Anyone recommend a good site? I love to be able to close my eyes and imagine myself on the rides. Pathetic I know, but we get our Disney fix any way we can!

Barb

I just re-read my post and it sounds like I drive with my eyes closed! Don't worry, it is safe to let me have this music. I only close my eyes when I'm working at my desk! :rotfl2:

Barb, wish I could help but I'm lucky if I know how to post messages on the DIS! I do have a CD of some music from Disney theme parks we bought a couple of years ago I could burn for you if you want - let me know. I also have a CD of the music from "Tapestry of Nations". I loved that particular parade even though I know some people weren't fans of it.

There was a thread a long way back about someone having some music from the cruise which I would love to have - I would send a blank CD and postage of course - if anyone knows who had that music. Suzie, do you have any idea where that thread was or who had the music?

Most of you will think I'm crazy, but yesterday was an emotional one for me as Jonathan "graduated" from elementary school. I spent so much time volunteering there over the last five years (since I only work part-time) that I will really miss all of the staff and the kids not moving on to middle school. It's like a chapter of his life and my life closing all at once. Of course, this is coming from a woman who chokes up looking at a Disney Cruise ship in port as well.

Lisa

The only CDs I can think about are the ones that April did with the Disney and vaca music on them - AWESOME!!! Are these the ones you're talking about?

Suzie, are April's CDs Disney music from movies/shows or from the theme parks? The stuff they play on Sorcerer Radio and others sound like original copies of sound clips from the rides and parades.

I also wanted to put together a CD of the songs they played over and over on the cruise before I forgot them. Well, of course I didn't do it and now I can't remember which ones they were. I don't actually listen to the radio much but every once in a while I hear a song and it brings back the days on the ship. If I ever get a few minutes of free time I'll go through the video tapes we made and the music will probably be on there.

Speaking of video, I zoomed in on the screen at the D Sea U graduation. It won't be a long segment, but where could I post something like that for everyone to see in case one of their kids is in it? Is something like that allowed on the snapfish site?

Lisa, I loved Tapestry of Nations. Leonard is a drummer and I have always loved the spinning drums in that parade. The amount of talent is takes just to play those songs, let alone having to practise where your drums will be at any given moment. One of the puppeteers bent down and shook my kid's hands. They were just in awe. Great memories is why we keep going back, but I guess I don't have to explain that here!!!

As for graduating elementary school, I have one who will be graduating high school in a few years. Now that's scary!

Have a wonderful day everyone. I will try really hard to get the rest of my cruise pictures up on snapfish. Things are just crazy here. No excuse I know! But at least it's hot now. Yesterday was muggy and the kids kept saying that "it feels like we're back in Florida". It has been in the 90's and no air conditioning in our house, so you have to look at things in a positive way. The heat didn't seem as bad when you were pretending to be in Florida!

Snow is gone now so it's safe for anybody who wants to come up and see what the greatest part of Canada is!! :cloud9: Our offer of playing tour guide is always open. :wave2:

just checking in and found us on page 3, the honeymoon must be over. We decided to pass on Ocean City, just doesn't look as family friendly as our family needs, and have booked Hilton Head over the 4th. I appreciate the input that you guys gave, got to go on the road the rest of the week.

We ended up getting another puppy. We now have "Lilo" & "Stitch". I hope they don't live up to their names and get into trouble all the time. Not really sure how I got talked into having two. I'm such a push-over! :confused3 I would post a picture of them but I don't know how.

Have a great day everyone.

Barb

FROM BOSTON!

Nice pictures Shyla!

Hope everyone had a nice 4th of July!

Man, I can't believe how long it has been since I checked in. Let's see where to begin:

Suzie - A girl - how awesome! how are you feeling these days? Is the heat bothering you? Were you effected by the flooding over the last few weeks?

Shyla - great to hear that your new venture is going so well - Enjoy!

Barb - two puppies - are you crazy?? Now we know what a softie you are!

Tom- how was Hilton Head?

We have had a busy month. We found out near the end of the school year that Jessica was going to need surgery on both legs. We then quickly changed some of our summer plans and moved her summer camp up so that she could go before the surgery. She had surgery last Thursday to have tumors removed and they placed expanders on both legs to even out the growth. This is all due to a bone condition that she has. She is doing VERY well - she is one tough cookie!! She is already walking without crutches and who knows, maybe she will be on the soccer field this Fall.

We have a WDW trip planned for next month which we still plan to go on - just may need to slow down a bit.
