4/29/06 Eastern Magic...We're Going!!!!!

Early morning fo rme...before 8 am is early to me, okay!?!? Had a the first really good nights sleep last night since I got sick. Barely any waking up to cough! Yahoo! I can really say that I am finally on the mend! Althought the mental picture of Sue and I on her verandah barking like seals with the seal pod following the ship is just too much! We may just have to see!

Forgot to tell y'all that we had to forgeo the Blue/White game at Penn State this year because of my sicky ailment. Reading the press, there were only about 18000 people there because of the rain. That's really a small crowd! But all in all was probably the best for us - sitting in the rain, watching the game and hacking my lungs up does NOT sound fun. There's always next year! BUT I miss my annual trek to the Creamery! BEST icecream in the world! Was named in the Top 5 in the US on Food Network (along with the local Carl's in Fredericksburg!).

Tori has school today, I've got my wax appt and going to try to fit in a mani and/or a pedi but will wait to make that decision. Sue, I think the trick is to wear thongs...I mean flip-flops, to your appt! Save them heals, baby! Them's for digging in to get your own way, not for walking on!

Breakfast is calling! Check in later!

Alright 571 was only 81 weeks and 4 days, or 13,704 hours, or 822,240 minutes, and now we have 5 days, or just under 129 hours, or how about this as of right now we have 7,725 minutes until we sail. I have to hurry and post this so it is accurate,(by the way it is 8;15 EST) but CG what about he Nomar in the BoSox jersey, way to go Queen, I need to hear SteveMed say Lobster.

I wish it were 5 o'clock somewhere right here, right now, I think this might be my motto on the ship.

Shy...can you guess which one of those pictures is for you??? Give Tom the credit though...it was his idea!!!!

SueRose...reality TV has nothing on you! Your life is funnier than a sit-com!!!!! :rotfl2:

I should really start packing! We leave on Thursday! I did some ironing this weekend (kinda dumb since I will be cramming everything into suitcases  but with no iron in our cabin, gotta do it). I have a lot of little piles going, but nothing actually in suitcases yet. And I bought 2 new suitcases the other day and they smell awful inside...I tried Frebreezing them, put dryer sheets in them, and now they are out in the garage opened up trying to air out...if you notice a "plastic-like" smell on us it's not the silicone from my breast implants leaking out, it's from the suitcases!!! (JK, I really don't have breast implants...these size A's are all mine :rotfl: ).

Okay, time to get busy! Have a great day everyone!

We got some packing done, but I bet it is going to be last minute marathon session. Oh well, not like we have not done it before. Withut ids, I am sure it is easier.
Actually, wouldn't it be easier without superegos? They're they're the ones that wants to get everything right! Ids just grab and toss into a bag at whim. ;)

Thans, B&RMom for the coundown art. It's going to be fun watching the days go by!

Monday's my day off, but woke up bright and early to thunderstorms and a wet basement. I guess the NJ drought emergency is over. Now, if I can just get rid of my NJ pallor.

Last bit of shopping to do today. I totally forgot about the waterproof disposable cameras, so add Target to my list of stops. Packing won't be done until Thursday, but I lie awake at night strategizing what goes where. We each pack our own bags, so the arguments over who gets to put what into the third (we're taking 3 carry-on size suitcases - but we're checking them) will be fun. I'm just trying to convince myself I only need to take 2 light paperbacks to read instead of half the stack of professional reading lying next to my desk.

Cheers!

Hey sometimes I get a turn with them also, SueRoes I have to agree with the Queen, I can't wait to party with the Pirate Suite Jon and his lovely Wench barking Sue Rose.

As far as Trumping the post, Queen "DGM" (don't get mad).

Uh, Tom? Aren't you supposed to be preparing yourself for your big meeting tomorrow? Foolin' around on the boards, pffft! Get to work, man! We want to make sure you're on that ship Saturday! Not stuck at work! :lmao:

Yucky weather today, lots of rain and fog....thought it was supposed to be sunny. Kinda puts a damper on the mood....blech....

Hey Everyone I was just checking the calendar and started thinking (not always a good thing), but is anyone up for rebooking on board, I think we are going to do it again and then move our date to April 26, 2008 so once again 2 years later we will be on board again. Not sure if it will be Eastern or Western, but we will be back on the Magic, and probably the last time we will be able to pull the oldest out of school, especially with her soccer schedule.

Suzie, like I have said before, physically I am here, but mentally I am already there, but thanks for reminding me that I do have a board of directors meeting tomorrow, that I should be preparing for.

Tom pirate:

Welcome Tiggersister@! I, too, started on this board way too late. As a 50ish woman, computers are not my forte. I LOVE traveling with my sister(s) and/or mom - as a matter of fact, this is the first cruise in a long time that none of them are coming with me. But I am lucky enough to be part of the SteveMed fan club!

Pedicures? Love them! It should only take 45 mins to 1 hr at the most. I am extremely ticklish and was wary the first time but, remember, you are paying for the service. I just tell them not to use the pumice stone on the bottom of my feet. AND, it should only cost $25-$50. Don't give up on them - try a different salon next time. You deserve to be pampered!!

We were going to spend the day packing yesterday, but went shopping instead. Not that I needed anything, but I can always find something I want. I'm trying to keep to a black and white theme so I don't have to bring a ton of shoes and jewelry - but I do have an awesome green dress for one of the formal nights. I'm also going to wear it to Palo one night - no sense bringing more than I need (yeah, right!)

We're staying at Ron Jon's Caribe Resort on Friday night and will probably eat right there in the restaurant, which is awesome - but I'm curious - where is the Grill? Is it right on the main drag? Just wondering for future reference.

ITM - is this a challenge???

Got a pedi tonight, hair tomorrow night, manicure Weds and take the kitty to the in-laws Thursday - leave Friday!!!! When am I going to pack???

Oh well, we'll figure it out. See you all soon!

Tatonka...we'll be at the Ron Jon with our gang too...since we won't have a car, we'll probably just eat there too...that restaurant will probably be packed with our party of 20!!!!!!!

Grills is pretty close to the Ron Jon...it overlooks the water where all of the cruise ships dock (and the casino ships too)...it is a cool place...so is Fish Lipps, which is just a hop, skip & a jump from Grills...

Here is a list of everyone who has posted on our thread and their Post count, I think it is sort of cool to see how consumed we are by this whole thread. If you want I could easily figure out percentages for each person???

Belle & Rella's Mom - that's great - we look forward to meeting you. I have eaten at Fish Lipps so I must have seen Grills just don't remember.

See you Friday!

Ok - so it's not enough that you directed people on how to PRIVATELY look at those post counts, but now you have to PUBLICLY put it out there! Dude, you trying to get me fired!!????? JK :lmao:

Oh, honey, wish I could share. By the way, good one Tom.

NOMAAAAH!!!! Thanks Guys! Love Him - even in another Jersey!

I am insane - I mean, really. I think I may have hit the brink. Paul just called me to ask whether he should buy those new Lithium Batteries for the camera and I freaked - I told him there was not ONE MORE decision that this brain could handle - he must handle this on his own!

I have lists and lists of crap that I am sure to forget! :guilty:

::yes:: You guys better pad your ***** when I see you Friday. Swift kicks! :lmao:

You know what's really killing me - now girls have you ever done this? I am trying to pack into the same suitcase as my husband. WHAT WAS I THINKING??? I vowed we would only have two suitcases, one for the kids, one for us. The reason is simple laws of physics - we are carrying two car seats, a double stroller, and carryons. No way can we handle more than two big suitcases. Well, this is a true test of a marriage and packing skills now. :guilty:

Shyla, you know I tease you because I like you, by the way it is almost 21%, and as far as sharing, there is nothing wrong with sharing.

Tatonka!, we will definately need to have a couple of cocktails, so we can get the mud on Steve.

Tom pirate:

Shyla - Try packing your clothes with one of the kids stuff; that's what I have done. Mine and Jessica's clothes are in one suitcase and Ken and Kyle's are in the other. The Kid's stuff takes up much less room. We will also have a large duffle with shoes and a garment bag - but not too bad for 4 people.

O.K. - I think Shyla deserves a prize for being top poster - any ideas??

The weather here today is dreary and 47 - but this makes the forecast for Cape Canveral on Saturday sound that much better - SUNNY AND 78!

OHJulie :wave2:

JULIE - THAT IS AN AWESOME IDEA!!! the suitcases, not the prize thing...........

I mean, just awesome!!!!! - what is wrong with my brain????? Problem solved. Thank you sooooooo much!!!! :cheer2:  That will also help with the weight issue. We were pushing 50 pounds last night pre-shoes.

Oh, I forgot, we also have a garment bag too. That is where a lot of the shoes will reside.

:

Don't give out that award yet, to Quote Lloyd from Dumb and Dumber "You mean I still have a chance", I think that I might be able to catch her, I would have to average 1 post every 14 minutes :rotfl2: , you know I am just kidding Shyla, I do have to say that Shyla is probably the key that has kept this thread moving from approximately days 560 out until maybe a year ago, and to that she will get some sort of Drink of the Day delivered to her from me.

Tom pirate:

Shyla - do you really need the carseats and strollers? Just a question. We used to do the carseat thing with Tori but it got to be more of a pain than a help! Most types you have to take any type of base off the bottom to fit in the seat (pain in the bahonkus!). Also, car seats are ONLY allowed next to the window. Pain for me to sit in the middle with really nowhere to put my little head to nap. This was the big reason - you can't put the tray table down for the kid to color on or put the DVD player on! UGH! That was the decision maker for us. You also don't need a car seat on public transportation or Magical Express.

We are leaving (I think, still haven't totally decided but definitely leaning toward NO) Tori's stroller at home this trip. Really didn't need it last cruise and they had some at guest services you could use. Possibly will rent at the parks for the days we are there - DH decided this is much easier than lugging one more thing through the airport!

So there you have it. Our top reasons not to bring the seat or the stroller. I used to freak thinking about being on the plane or in a taxi without one, but it's really no biggie. She actually is more comfortable without it on the plane 'cause she can lay down with her head on my lap to sleep....really sweet too.

But, you know, everyone is different. Just my two cents...

Yes, thank you Tom for making it all such public knowledge...just remember, when you least expect it, expect it!

Hey, everyone! Don't forget about your mail service! Thought of everybody last night when we put ours on hold! It's so easy online too! And they will redeliver it to you when you want! No more going to the PO to pick it up!!

Shy, sweetie, take a deep breath and calm down. Count to 10 or 20, whichever helps. It will all work out. Remember, you can take two bags per person and renting one of those little carts isn't expensive. Try curbside check in also! Really wonderful people! They deserve the extra tip, too! It's the only way to fly!
