I also wonder how someone might go about getting qualified for the Yank of the week, sounds interesting.

Thought they were talking about me. :confused3

Sue will be glad to know that I just screwed up my second pedicure in three weeks. :guilty: Ilove going to the nail salon in the mall - you know the ones where they only speak Korean - it's awesome. No yappin to listen to like at my last pedi, great massage chairs, and the suckers last forever and it takes only a fraction of the time as a foo foo salon (Sue). But me being stress girl, decides to get some mall crap done after the pedi and manicure. well, let's just say that a pedicure and maryjanes don't mix. :guilty:

True story for you guys...(Tom and Pj will love this)

The other day I was at THEEGGMAN'S house for dinner.I reached over a candle to get some bread, when all of a sudden I smelt something burning(insert a one eye browed, banan hamock wearing, and this is the part that gave me trouble,LONG HAIRY ARMED Portuguese man)My arm hair was on fire .With all the years of my fire training I knew what I had to do.STOP, DROP AND ROLL The EGGMAN was quick to get to the kitchen sink and hose my arm down. All is good. :firefight

Everything is true up untill the stop drop and roll part.

Steve,

Are you sure the Eggman wasn't doing a cotrolled burn on you so that we don't have any wild fires on board?

As far as drinking buddies, I hope that I will make you proud, I already think the Queen is fond of you, because everytime we go somewhere she wants to know if I need a Rhodie????

Now, the question:
For those of you with nicer cameras? What do you do with them at the beach? Here, I wouldn't have any problem hiding under a towl and other junk while in the water - but what about Orient or Magens - would that be safe there?

Plan B is to leave in trunk of car at Orient, and rent a locker at Magen - but you never know when you want to take a shot. I won't necessarily need the best camera at the beach, but it's not the only stop at either island.

Oh Reverand one, so you haven't been lurking here all the time - if you had been you would have caught the enormously long winded discussion on this topic. I have a water tight pouch bag for the camera with a see through area. Aquapacs make them and I bought a cheaper one that I am slipping on the name of it. I got it at REI.

Your plan B is very, very bad! They watch for this and then steal them out of the trunks. Coki beach is also known for this.

You all may be scared to know that I have been reading police reports. I will not go into it because there has been a lot of shootings in St. Thomas and St. John lately - but they are of locals, not tourists - so I think reading this stuff is taking a lot of things out of context. And the robberies of tourists seem to be clustered on some resorts right now and not at beaches.

Quickie here!

TATONKA and TIGGERSISTER(s)--we stillhave bracelets left!--find me at the port (or I'll find you!!) and I'll have them with me--$2.205 per, you can pay Suzie. Time for my pedi--CG & Sue, I'm going straight home in my little cheapie spa flip flops after to let it dry, I vow this right here and now!

Later!

Rubysmom - thanks for thinking of us and the offer of wristbands, but the hub and I already have them. Remember, local members of the SteveMed fan club are in it for a reason. We are very well taken care of by him!

One more hour of work today, 24 the rest of the week and we're on our way!!!

Hey all you crazy cruisers! Just stopping by to wish you a great cruise with great weather!!!!

Tom and Julie...have a drink in honor of the hydster and the monkeyboy! pirate:

We went to Cancun and sat on the beach all day long and we adopted the motto from you guys...well this doesn't suck and it didn't! Of course we didn't have our brats with us so that must have been why!!!

Anyway it's almost here! Enjoy it and have a great time!

Headed out to the first night of golf league, I would expect this thing to go nuts while I am gone. The Queen has already questioned my effectiveness at work today, maybe I forgot to tell her that we are going on a Disney Cruise that we have planned for over 2 years later this week. I can't forget though that I do have a BORED meeting tomorrow that I have to get past, then I will officially be checked out except for a couple of sales appointments.

I will check in later.

Steve! You're killing me! Don't you know by now, you hairy Portugese man, to stay away from open flame?! It could be hazardous to your health! And to do it at someone's house! Gasp! You put a whole houseful of people in danger! My, my. Wonder what the Firestuds would have said in response to that call?! Which begs to ask the question, do you get a special firesuit to work in?! Do tell! :lmao: :lmao: Just kidding, man!

I can just imagine it, Shyla! Snort, cough, cough....silence....snort! Guffaw! They really need a smilie of a person sitting at the computer then "spitting" out their coffee!! Now, that could be used alot here! Hee-hee!!! Baby, remember, laughter is the best cure for what ails you! And it makes the time fly!

Okay, you all talked me into it. I will get a pedi and mani tomorrow. Will call my friend to watch Tori so that she doesn't tear down the walls. (Last mani I got she almost knocked over the whole shelving of nail polishes! It was one of the floor to ceiling type!!) Or at least I'll get a hysterical story out of it - not as good as Sue's though. She is the Queen of Drama, I tell you. It's a crown she wears with glory, right?! You are MY HERO, girl! I knew we'd be good friends and hey, I was right, right?! (now I need a butt-kissing smilie inserted here!)

Hey, just thought about it! If Sue is out on deck in her grass skirt and Steve is out on deck in the sun, will we have two potential fires in the works?! Folks, don't get too close! Or at least wear the sign, STOP, DROP, AND ROLL! I can see the headlines now! " TWO DISERS TOO HOT FOR CRUISE!"

Ah, I crack myself up sometimes....sometimes I'm the only one, but hey, one ain't bad!

Thanks for the bracelets Rubysmom - My name is Sandy and sis is Carol - tall and short - blonde.....we'll find you at some point.

Ok -- I really need to understand more about this Steve club thing...I'm still a bit confused.

I'm doing the easy route for my pedicure as the last one I had done for my last cruise got messed up too quickly. So...my daughter has become my official pedicurist. I have little patience for fingernail drying -- I got a french mani before I left the last time and it died in 2 days - so I got on on the ship and by dinner at Palo's for DH and my anniversary - it was schmucked - oh well. I wish all of you luck with your flip flops today - it's a good way to do it.

Is anyone else a chronic WAY OVER-PACKER ??-- I'm 55 today - it's my birthday and I haven't learned how not to bring everything I own. You'd think by now I would learn. ... Plus I have 2 more weeks at WDW after the cruise - sigh

Hi all-

My mother is traveling with us.. She is newly single at 71 years young..

She loves her wine and tennis. If any one knows of, or meets and nice young gentleman or lady...of that generation, she would love the company. She is afraid she will be the "minority".

I told her lots of grandparents come along on the Disney cruise....

-Sue

I wish I could have gotten my Mom to come with us - she is 75 - but alas, she is scared of boats/ships. That would have rocked were she coming too. Tell your Mom, yeah, I think there will be lots of the Greatest Generation along.

Okay, trying out my new camera again! Trish, here's pics of our house - ignore the box of stuff on the front porch! Still stinks from smoke!
DSC00022.jpg

The trees (that are so tall I couldn't get them all!) in our backyard! Yes, we get over 200 bags of leaves a year in the fall!

DSC00025.jpg

The irises that are blooming at the side of our house - need to divide them but don't know how!

DSC00023.jpg

And finally the bird's nest in my kitchen window I just saw! Wondered why I kept seeing birds flying by the window!
