Cast - myself, DH, DS age 13 and DS age 10

Everyone is heading to Topsiders early this morning in anticipation of Castaway Cay. It is any absolutely beautiful day without a cloud in the sky.DH, DS 13 and myself decide to try the omelettes this morning, and they are delicious. Much better than the scrambled eggs. If you want good eggs at the buffets, get the omelettes.

A funny story about DH and I and Castaway Cay: about a month before our cruise, I am looking at our reservation online for the hundredth time and I amso excited to see we've been upgraded from a Category 5 to a Category 4! We had Cat. 4 on our Wonder cruises, but went down a category to save some $$. Still, I am thrilled about the extra room. We are not Stateroom 8084 instead of 7562. So what does DH say? "That's the wrong side of the ship. We won't have the good side when we dock at Castaway Cay." We've always been Starboard side, and now we are Port. I tried to tell him that sometimes the captain backs the ship in (Starboard side gets the view) and sometimes he pulls in forward (Port has the view) depending on the sea and wind conditions. DH doesn't believe me. Well, doesn't the captain pull in forward for us today! I will remind DH of this all day long!

Everyone is lined up on Deck 2 to disembark, and the captain announces at 9:30 that it will be at least 20 minutes until we can leave the ship, and we should not congregate. No one leaves. We meet up with some of our DIS friends and chat until we can finally get off. Once we are off the ship, I take about 10 pictures of the ship facing forward in the dock. We found a spot on the beach with some shade, and rent tubes for the kids. The water is a little chilly when you first get in, but you get used to it. After about 1 hour, DS10 comes to us and says his foot hurts. There are two little dots on his foot. DH takes him to First Aid, and they tell him he was stung by sea lice (which I find out later are jellyfish larvae). That's enough for him to be done with the water for the day, so he decides to join the group from the Lab. DS 13 and a friend decide to find the teen group. Even though it's early, we decide to have lunch before the crowds hit Cookie's.

After lunch, several other kids are complaining about jellyfish stings. That's enough to keep us from using the tubes to float around in. We settle for pulling some chairs down to the water to relax. Around 3:00 we round up everyone to go back on the ship.

The Goofy pool is empty, and DS10 and I enjoy "Honey, I shrunk the Kids" from the pool.

It is soon time for our last dinner, and we've prepared everyone's envelopes. After dinner, the kids visit their clubs for the last time, and we finalized our packing. The week has really gone by fast. We have one last DIS meet in the suite where we first met almost one week ago (our DIS friends are the best!). We make it a fairly early night since we have breakfast at 7:00 before the inevitable moment comes.

But, how was the Peanutbutter Pie?????

Really enjoyed your report ::yes::

Great report, thanks for sharing. Sounds like you had an amazing vacation.

How could I forget that part! My husband came in and distracted me while I was finishing the report.

The peanut butter pie was terrific! It tasted like a brownie with peanut butter sauce through it. Just enough peanut butter taste to offset the sweet chocolate. In fact it made the top three desserts, along with Palo's chocolate souffle and cappacino mouse (can you tell I like chocolate?)

Really enjoyed your report - thanks for writing it!

Too bad about the jellyfish....same thing happened to me which snorkeling in shallow water off the beach in Cozumel. Seemed like I swam into a cloud of tiny jellyfish. The stings were not really painful - about 1/2 a bee sting - but I was freaking out a bit. I don't like insects/creepy crawlies or anything like that and it seemed like the stupid things were everywhere - gross :scared1: :crazy2: I wonder if it is the time of year in certain places or maybe people stirring up the water that attracts them??
