4/14/2012 7-Nights Western Caribbean on the Fantasy

Could someone tell me if they do the pin trading on the cruise ships? I prefer to leave the kids home if they do not. Thank you!

Yes, they do pin trading. You can pin trade with the cast members. They also have a night were you can pin trade with the officers in the atrium.

With so many of us from MA we should plan a pre-cruise meet :cool1:

We love pin trading too!:jumping1: Pin trading is a competition in our family at the parks to get the best pins! :rotfl: What kind of pins do you collect?

:confused3

do you know when the pin trade night is with the officers?

Do most of the kids wear costumes? This is our first cruise....

We have girls and they wear princess dresses nearly every night. They love to walk onto the boat wearing them. And of course Pirate night we all dress up.

Anyone past cruisers ever shipped a box down prior to your cruise? It would be mainly my FE Gifts, etc. Any thoughts on this?

We have shipped stuff down on two of our 3 past DCL cruises. Very easy and it will be waiting for you in your stateroom! On our first cruise our youngest was still in diapers, so we shipped a box of them. That saved space! There is also a company (Babies Lite?) that will deliver "baby stuff" to your stateroom. Now the kids are older and we ship just about anything that isn't coming back with us to save luggage space. i.e. Kids activity books. You can call DCL for the address. It has also been posted on the FB group.

Hi Everyone! I have updated my post on the first page. Let me know of any additions or corrections.

Hi All. Just found this site yesterday. We are going to be on this sailing as well. 2nd sailing for us - first was 4 day Bahamian in Apr/10.

Can anyone give us any details on what we can expect in GC, Coz and CM for shopping etc at the the ports. We are not sure whether to plan any excursions or not.

Thanks.
:welcome: This will be my first 7 day cruise so I am not sure what to expect. But, I am definitely planning on doing excursions.

:laundy::dance3::hug::yay::yay:

I CANT WAIIIT FOR THIS CRUISE ARE WE MEETING UP????????????/:cheer2::cutie::scared1:

If people want to we can meet up.

So... sitting here in a storm and freezing (no snow this year, weird). And just thinking about our cruise
My husband is so looking forward to the warm weather, the kids are looking forward to all the fun and me? I just want to relax and spend time with the family.

I am starting to stress out about the Port Adventures. This is our first cruise, and since english is not our first language, I am a bit nervous about booking by myself and am a bit overwelmed at Disneys options. We really want to see the beach at Cayman Island and perhaps snorkle and I want to se Mayaruins in Mexico. ANy thoughts????? I have looked at Tulum ruins, and they look great. It states that they recommend it from 8 years old, and DS is 7, but he is used to walking so I'm guessing he will be ok?!
January 30th is coming soon...

And another question (sorry guys, I hope I'm not too much of a pain) I have looked at Palo and it looks fantastic, but I'm worried about the kids in the clubs. If they don't like it there (because of the language barrier DS speaks some english but not DS7) can I cancel Palo without penalty? Is brunch worth it?
So many questions, so little time...:scared1:

I think Palo brunch is so worth it. I also think that your DS will have a good time in the club despite the language difference. The cast members in the club are so good with the kids.

from Middleton, MA Jody-DM, 12 year old DS and 9 1/2 year old DD
:welcome:

Sorry to say I won't be joining everyone on this sailing anymore. But the news isn't all bad for just a couple of hundred more we chose to swap out this Fantasy trip with....:rockband:...... a Christmas Fantasy sailing!:santa:

Not a bad switch if I have to say so myself. But it does require much more patience. Oh I just realized I have to change my signature now.

Sorry to see you go but what a great way to celebrate Christmas!

Marsha:

I sent you an update several days ago, not sure if you received it but I didn't see it updated on the first page, if you didn't get it I can resend.

Thanks

Sheila

I'm so looking forward to this sailing - anyone staying in Vero Beach Before hand?

Let's definitely do a pre-cruise meet!

We did this on our last cruise. Where would we do it? Ships so new, I haven't seen mentions of where people have been doing dismeets on Dream....I know we met in Sessions on Magic. We actually all posted pics of our family pre-cruise & I recognized one family @ the terminal right away. But didn't actually remember her name, just the dis-name. Had to call her & introduce myself by dis-names.:lmao:

I was on the Dream in August and we had our Dismeet at the Vista Cafe deck 4 midship, it was a great meeting spot.

:rotfl:WE should all meet at sattelite falls or something maybe the bar near remy also tons of places tro meet on deck 4 even that pink lounge ?? :confused3:thumbsup2:)

We are traveling, too! I can't wait! Sorry I'm so late to the party! LOL
Trying to read and get caught up on all the information.

FISH EXTENDER EXCHANGE SIGN-UP
Kat (DisneyMomforLife) has volunteered to keep track of the people who would like to participate in the fish extender exchange list. Kat will keep the list and send it out to or post it for everyone. Deadline for signing up is _____________. The deadline is set so those who are making homemade gifts will know how many to make it & those ordering gifts will know how many to order.

There is also a Fish Extender Exchange sign-up list for our Facebook group. So, please feel free to sign up through Facebook.

Participating in the Fish Extender Exchange is completely optional. Feel free to do or spend whatever you're comfortable with. As for the Fish Extender itself, some people buy them, others want to make theirs, whatever you choose is fine. The same rule applies to the "goodies"! You can buy or make them!

Can I ship boxes to the ship ahead of the cruise? If so, how?
You are able to ship boxes to the ship before the cruise. So, if you have fish extender gifts or other things that you do not want to lug with you on the plan, then definitely ship a box ahead of time.
• ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
• The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
• The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
• NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
• The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs.

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information:
ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise.

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

Whatever else you want me to add to this post last me know. I plan on keeping it updated. For example, if people are staying at a resort before and/or after the cruise, I can post it here. If people are interested in linked dining someone can spearhead that and I will post the names of those interested here. I can also post stateroom assignments. As I said, this thread is what you make it. Let the ideas flow. Let the chatting begin.
Will and I (Natasha ) will me staying at OKW after cruise (sat to tue) and hyatt friday night before cruise. CANT WAIT

PS LOVE THIS THREAD YOU POSTED

Just getting caught up here...
just watched the float out of the fantasy (jan 8th)...just getting more excited.

Reading through the different post I see there is an FE sign up on FB and through here? Either I am really tired, or really clueless!!but is there a plan for 2 different groups or are they going to be combined? Also, what is the sign up deadline? Trying to get the rest of our group to participate....:cheer2:

We were thinking of combining them. We were waiting to hear from Kat who was originally doing the FE. If the list gets too big we would split it. You should sign up in Facebook we have a great group on there. Have not decided on a deadline yet.

Regarding the FE, a bunch of us on FB were talking about it and I offered to be the organizer. Several people asked about combining it with the DIS one... As we have not heard from Kat... I hope all is well with you Kat!! I am totally up for combining the two if people want, and if we don't hear from Kat/she can't or doesn't want to do the dis one. I think we have agreed so far that if we get too many over 25 families between the two, I will split the list so we aren't all overwhelmed.

Any opinions??
