So, here I am with another fun-filled trip report. I can't believe I went to Disney twice in 3 months. I blame it on wigd!! :lmao:

You see, I was busily planning our family's October trip when I got completely addicted to some new trip reports. In particular, wigdoutdismom's report. I started realizing that there were people who went to Disney more than once in a year. Wow!! What a realization.

Enter my friend Courtney.

This is her with my daughter Lily on the first day of school this year. She's going to kill me because she hates that picture but I think it's adorable.

She had had a rough past year and was getting ready to have her 40th birthday. This was going to be a difficult milestone for her, to say the least. You have to know something about me at this point. I kind of like milestone birthdays. For my husband's 30th? I took him skiing in Colorado (even though we didn't have 2 pennies to rub together at the time and it took me forever to pay it off). For my mom's 50th? I threw a huge surprise party. For my baby brother's 30th? I took him to NYC for a weekend (he's a huge Broadway buff) For my husband's 40th? Another huge surprise party. For my mom's 60th? Another weekend trip to NYC.

So, I wanted to do something really special for Courtney. Something that would amaze her and make her 40th birthday memorable (in a good way). So, I started planning a trip to Disney! Courtney hadn't been to Disney since she was a kid and she always talked about wanting to go. She had offered to be my nanny on our October trip, but with 2 grandmothers along that wasn't really happening!

Besides, I had always wanted to explore Disney as a grown up!! Drinks and time to stroll! No Dumbo run? That sounded like the life to me!! Courtney's birthday is in December so I talked to our friend who's a DVC member and she found me availability at Old Key West for December 20 & 21st, the beginning of our Christmas break. I figure we'd go down on Saturday, stay at a DTD hotel on Saturday night and then stay at OKW on Sunday & Monday.

Sounds like a plan, right? Stay turned to see how it really turned out!

Just read it and you are blaming me? Well Courtney should be thanking me....
That is a very cute picture of her and Lily!
I hope this is going to be an annual event!
Subbing to read more, Yes I forgot to sub.....
