4/10/2011 April 10, 2011 Dream 4 Night Cruise

Thanks! We're in Raleigh, too - maybe pre-cruise coffee is in order?
I wanna come too. :lmao: I booked Blue Lagoon Sea Lion Encounter. My oldest dd isnt' too thrilled with the idea. I also reserved bikes, but I wonder if I needed to. You have to cancel excursions 3 days before to not be charged, do you think I really need to reserve a bike or are they quite plentiful?? You don't have to pick a time, even though the bike rental is only an hour, so I am gathering they are plentiful. Also, are they just standard bikes or do they have bicycles built for two(not babies, but something I could ride with my 8 year old) ??? off to bed, this midnight stuff if not my cup of tea, but didn't want to wait till morning since I hit the 90 day mark.

:grouphug: My mom passed this past April. It is sure tough losing your mom.

Silver Castaway Cay members get to make my shore excurisions tomorrow night(after midnight). We never made any excursion reservations when we sailed last time, so I am excited to even just peek at the site. I am going to book Blue Lagoon Sea Lion for this leg of my B2B if I can get the early time slow.

Amy, How did you find this out? We never got paper work on that and we are silver members until our next cruise and than we are GOLD!!!

pixiedust::welcome:NEWBIES!!
I hope this board gets hopping soon.
? What is everone who has done a Disney cruise befor favorite thing on the cruise and or favorite tip? Mine is ordering the cake of the day from room sevice and sharing it with my family and tip is over the door storage rack(you can get this at the$ store) Great for storing toiletry items since the counter space in the bathroom is so small. Easy to grab from the shower also. :rotfl:Have a great day!!

Not sure where I learned this. If you go to the disneycruise site and log into castaway club it will tell you the date you can book. It is very accurate too as it wouldn't let me book at midnight, not till like 12:04am. I am having second thoughts of Blue Lagoon.... err.. we just loved Atlantis so much last cruise. Atlantis is an exhausting day though and I just wanted to do something on this first leg of the B2B that was a little different, got us off the ship for a bit, but not the whole day. Decisions, Decisions.

Favorites and tips: We loved the all hand on deck cheese/fruit trays through Room service. We didn't like dinner through room service though. We thought it would be cool after our long day at Atlantis to just eat on the verandah, but it took 50 min to get there and wasn't the best. If we decide to skip the dining rooms, will go to counter service and take back to the room or the buffett.

I will bring a larger tote/duffel bag this time for getting off at CC. For the newbies, they hand you towels as you get off the ship, last time I just took a small backpack off and had wished I would have had a larger bag to put those towels in as we stopped at several character pictures on the way to the beach.

This time I won't insist on my youngest dd NOT spending time in the kids club. She truly did love it. I will want her to spend quality time with me, but last time I only let her go three time for an hour and made her sit through a dinner that she did not really enjoy. :confused3

When boarding, they tend to send some people upstairs and others into the inside dining. If you prefer one over the other, dont' be afraid to tell them. It was a chilly windy Nov day and we had really wanted to eat upstairs, but since it was so cold, we preferred to eat at Parrot Cay. They were directing everyone upstairs and I politely said, no we will wait here... and it turned out to not really be any wait.

If you don't like your dining rotation, go to whatever is equivilent of Wavebands on the Dream, they will change it for you without question.

Biggest tip.... if you are not going to the sitdown breakfast on the last day, tell your room steward. We did not tell him and he walked in on us. :rolleyes1

Lets all keep the tips coming.... it is a great reminder for myself too.

Hello All,
I too was up at midnight. Reserved parasailing for my DD9 and myself on her 10th bday. Very excited. We have only been on one Dis cruise, but my advice would be to enjoy dinner with the kids and then drop them off at the kids club and enjoy your coffee and dessert without them rushing you through. My girls loved the kids club. Can't wait.

Sorry I havent posted on here for some time, I was so busy with everything going on and then Christmas and going away which will never happen again because everything is so rushed. I totally forgot about everything till this weekend when my calendar reminded me to pay the cruise and book my excursions.

Just to let you know any time you log on to your cruise it tells you everything you need to know like how many days till sailing, when you can book excursions and when the final payment is due.

I just got off the phone with the Disney Cruise line and they told me we repeat resturants on nights 3 & 4 and pirate night is night 3.

Has anyone else heard differently?

Kim, are you traveling with just your two girls? as I am also, my girls will be 9 and 11 at cruise time but my 11 year old does not want to go to the tween club, so she will be going to the oceaneers lab with her sister(if she goes at all, she didn't last cruise).

Hi,
Actually, my Mom is traveling with us as well. I have travels some with just the girls, but for a cruise/disney trip, I like having the extra hands. DD9 turns 10 on the cruise, maybe she and your girls can start getting acquainted now and they will all want to go to the club together sometimes.

That would be great. My youngest(who will 9 at cruise time) is quite the social bunny. :rotfl: My oldest who will 11 1/2 at cruise time is very clingy. Once she gets comfortable in a situation though, you would never know it. I will pm you email addresses and maybe we can get them to know someone ahead of time. thanks. :)

I have a 12 year old who didn't want to go either on her first trip but we made her go and after 1 day we couldn't stop her after 2 days we never saw her. She is really excited espically since we talked to some Disney people and they told us there are so many really cool interactive things for them to do on this boat.

I saw some photos earlier that show some interactive pictures hanging on the walls. To me it seems a little like MagiQuest, which will delight my three children!

Her bday10/4. The counselors did everything to coax her, but she would not go. Even the last night when I was going to pack. They asked, "is she homeschooled, we see this in alot of the homeschoolers?" She isn't, but does go to a very small catholic school, only 90 kids in k-8. She has always been clingy and had some mild anxiety/separation issues. Interestingly though, once she feels comfortable, you would never know it. I had sat down before school and briefed her new teacher(who was new to our school). At the time, she didnt' even want to go to school, she wanted to be home schooled(we blamed alot on my mom passing away a few months before and it was a rough summer for all of us). Her teacher and I were talking the other day and she was said she has never seen any of that anxiety and she has become the teachers favorite student as she is always smiling and is so nice to all the other kids. So I do think if she would try it, she would like it. I do know too she likes one on one time with me, which is great too... but I hope these cruises(we are doing B2B) she finds a balance.

Anyone doing Blue Lagoon or Atlantis at Nassau???

by the way, love that this board is picking up a bit!:grouphug:

Her bday10/4.

She's just two weeks behind DS and DD! They were due 10/16, but Hurricane Floyd had other ideas!

I haven't researched Blue Lagoon yet. Atlantis looks to be too pricey for us.

Atlantis is, but if you go the CS way it is more affordable. We are doing it on the second leg of our b2b this time and we absolutely loved it last cruise. It was worth the money, especially since we dont' really do any excursions on CC.

We're first-timers and not in Concierge so doubt they'll even be available for us...but if we can get one, we'd be interested in splitting the cost with a family with 1-2 kids. Any takers? Advice on CC also welcome. :thumbsup2

I have uploaded the graphic that I am almost done with for the T-Shirts.
I have the spreadsheets ready to go for everyone to use.

They can be gotten by going to my FB, and request friend. Then you will be able to get to the spreadsheet, etc. http://www.facebook.com/jmarsden92

For the Fish Extenders PLEASE try to fullfill the amount of people that are participating if possible.

For the T-Shirts I just need everyone to note the spreadsheet if they will be wanting one. Once I have a count I will figure out the final cost of the shirts. I can do some extra stuff if you want, and as long as it fits on the transfer there is no additional cost. The shirts will be "Cost of shirt + Transfer" nothing else.

I will be making a "Dis" pin for everyone that is going, so PLEASE give accurate counts.

I would like to plan a dinner the night before the cruise. I will be able to attend the dinner prior to the 10th cruise, but not the 14th.

I am also in the works of getting decent pricing for cruisers at one of the hotels by the port. I will be working on getting one that offers a "Park and Cruise" package.

Email me directly with your FB name, and any other info I may need.

Thanks again.
