Morning, auntLynn (and everyone else) and Happy Valentine's Day right back at you.

You organizers are doing a great service. I can't even keep up with the thread. Thanks a bunch. Ran across some names on the cruise critic boards where I was researching ports and airport transfers yesterday. I thought I had this cruising thing down pat. But I feel like a novice again. Perhaps I should just pack, sit back, and let it follow its own path.

Ok my FE's are done! This is amazing for me because normally I am sitting in the cabin taking up time away from the cruise! So finally after 4 cruises I have learned how to do it correctly!

I have everyone family/disers gifts inside a baggie with their Dis name and ages on a card. Once we get a final list of cabin numbers I will put each deck into a plastic bag so it will be easy to do deck by deck when we get on the ship.

Krisann

Yeah for getting all your FE stuff done! I'm just about there but now we added a FE for the first MED so I get to do it again :)

I'm thinking we will end up with some room numbers changed once we are on the ship with DCL making last minute assignments and people upgrading last minute if there is availability.

I think that's the first time I've posted on cruise critic in about a year!:goodvibes

That's kind of what I do on caribbean cruises, but Spain is new territory for me. I also find as I get older (and a bit less spry), I like to know what I'm getting into. :rotfl2:So more research and planning is required. But once I'm on the ship I'm totally ready to sit back and let what happens, happen. This trip, besides actually getting ON the ship, the only thing I HAVE to do, is make it to the theater in London on the 24th! Now that I have those tickets, I would be very disappointed to miss that experience. Everything else is just gravy. :thumbsup2

Yeah, I have a question too! Where do I send team lanyard money and how much?

.

Ok I have all the FE gifts into disney baggies and the adults sorted by Dis name. The kids bags still need a little bit more candy in them :) and a Captain Mickey sticker for the 4-10 year olds and a fun highlighter for the 11-13 group and then I have to merge them into their family bag AND all of them need to have a paper put into them to say who they are from and then I am DONE except for the 6 teenagers as I am having them something special made at the print shop - I actually have done more things for the teenagers than everyone else - I hope that is ok - but they are usually the hardest but I found some cool things for them and since there are just 6 of them (including mine) it was easy to do.

now off to the fabric store to a sale they are having - hoping to make my secret mickey something special with a gadget I am picking up there.

catch back up later . . .

Krisann

You are fast! I still have to finish making ours and put them all together. So much work! I want to get as much done as possible before we leave though.

Michelle2 has done a break down by ages and gender of the kids at the bottom of the FE list on page one of this thread so I did not redo mine since all the updates. I then took her info and made my own age groups based on my gifts. My adult gifts are the same so I did not need male/female for the adults.

Yeah, I have a question too! Where do I send team lanyard money and how much?

I am working on an email today so we can finalize everything up. I need to get with Lynn first about something and want to try to have a chat today if possible.

Fast, no not really. I have had my main item purchased for about 14 months and they have been driving me crazy sitting here. Was glad to finally put names to them.

Does it matter how wide a FE is?

There is a pattern and if you go here:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2068966

and go down to where it says FE there is information on them.

I think I read the FE itself should be 8 inches wide and the rod 10 to not stick out into the hallway - but double check that.

I am now going to purchase mine - just cannot wrap my head around making one.

SHOOT! Guess I should have asked the question BEFORE starting to make it! :lmao:

Thanks very much for the info Krisann!

Hello Everyone

I found this thread yesterday and while I've only made it to page 71 thought I'd say hi.

My aunt and I will be going on this cruise and we are very excited about it. I've done one Disney cruise before but have never been to Europe. I look forward to getting to know all of you :cool1:

Is there a list of who Michelle has received information from so I (and others) know she got it. I know everyone is busy, but just want to make sure I'll be on the list.

Thanks,

Kristi:flower3:

QOTD: Will you partake of the Drink of the Day?
(now offering non-alcoholic DoD - Drink of the Day)

This is a non-alcoholic lava slide - strawberries in pina colada base -
from Kimo's on Front Street in Lahaina, Maui

I plan to partake in the drink of the day...with alcohol some days and without on other days.

I asked yesterday and have not heard back yet. I resent my kids info because I was not sure I had sent it yet or not. Maybe Michelle will be on today and can give us an update.

Welcome! You've made it pretty far on our thread in just one day! The most important stuff is in the first 10 posts or so and on Auntlynne's website. If you've been there, then you have the basics.

71 pages in 1 day? That's dedication! :worship::worship::worship:

:welcome:

Yeah I just kept reading because there was so much new information.

Has there been anymore talk of a meet at the MCO hotel? That's where we will be staying and it might be fun to meet some people before going onto the ship. My flight comes in at 5 something on Friday night and my aunt doesn't have her information yet as DCL doesn't seem to have booked her flight out of LAX yet. I'm flying out of Sacramento myself.

The place we picked in London made an error, and does not have ANY size en suite rooms available. :guilty:

So we're back to square one, and going though our list again. THEN I came up with the brillient idea of applying my bonus (that I just found out I was getting, so it's like not 'real' money) to a hotel that was nice but had been considered too costly. So, if the girls agree, we can have a nice place in Hyde Park to stay and have a couple nights that might feel a bit more luxurious than 3 ladies stuffed in an inside cabin! :rotfl:
.
Sounds good! :yay:
.
In 2001 we used DVC points for four nights at the Royal Garden Inn (I think that's the name) on the edge of Kensington Gardens right near Kensington Palace--Diana's favorite. Lovely! And convenient.

When the Doorman asked me if he could help with the suitcase I had pulled from Heathrow on the Tube and carried up two flights of stairs as there was no available elevator where we got off, I was flabbergasted! I should tip him to handle it a few feet when I, tough Yank that I am, had wrangled it for miles?--nope!

WELCOME BACK Woody!!!

Can't wait to hear the new stories

We heard many good things about Princess, so we had high expectations. Our expectations were met.

Lunch and dinner in the main dining rooms were very, very good. It was the best among the cruise lines we have tried.

Some of the things we liked:

  • Very smooth embarkation.
  • Cabins are ready upon boarding (we boarded at 11:50 and went to our cabin to drop off our bags).
  • A working refrigerator.
  • Warm cookies served in the afternoon (servers roam with carts around the pool deck and atrium).
  • Nice library (12 or so floor-to-ceiling bookcases).
  • Lots of quiet seating areas around the ship.
  • Daily afternoon tea (open to all at no charge).
  • Generous portions. If you ordered lobster tail, they brought you three, and later brought around another plate with more.
  • A self-serve kiosk next to the front desk. Just swipe your room card to get a copy of your stateroom account without standing in line. Brilliant!
  • Automatic enrollment in the Captains Circle loyalty program. On day 5 or 6, we received a welcome packet including Captains Circle cards with our names and member numbers.
  • On debarkation day you can go to breakfast then return to your cabin and relax until your debarkation time.
  • Very smooth debarkation.

Woody
