According NOAA, my town has gotten 25.8 inches as of 7:29 AM this morning!

I am dreaming of Castaway Cay and the hot rock massage I have booked. I have never visited the Rainforest room, but a very warm room with a bubbling fountain sounds really excellent right now!

I will miss popcorn made on the stove with butter (eating it right now) and

Biscuits and Gravy - they have them on board but for this southern girl it is the nastiest stuff I have ever eaten! I will long for my fluffy biscuits and sausage gravy! I know Disney cannot be good at everything :)

Krisann

You could TEACH the chefs how!

Eggs Benedict, Lumineres, more than once.....BE THERE!

We didn't learn about the yummy b-fast at Lumiere's until the last few days on the WB PC. Loved the eggs benny and the smoothies! We will definitely go there more often on this cruise.

DD (4) Madison absolutly loved it and she was just one day past her 4th birthday when she did it.

I have never watched a movie on board and I plan on doing that this time. There are a few that will be new so I am looking forward to them.

I really want to do the galley tour since we have never done it.

I just asked my girls if they'd ever like to parasail and I showed them a picture on Google. DD7 and DD5 screamed, "No way!" and DD3 smiled and said she would. :) Parasailing is fun and I never thought about doing it on CC.

What are other families doing?

We booked late dining because of the time change and Brooklyn's suggestion.;) We're coming from the west so we're going to be a mess.

To be honest they don't care about the food.

The Dine and Play program has made late dining great!
DD7 is the pickiest eater and this cruise will be her slice of heaven because I won't care (or nag her) about what she eats for 14 days straight. So she will be thrilled to nibble on something and head to the DnP program. My DD5 would want a seat at Palo if she were allowed. ;) DD5 and DD3 eat a wide variety of foods. Sushi is their favorite and most often requested meal.

I've made a note and will put one in my suitcase for you!

Welcome! Great news that you'll be on board! I remember you from the WB PC because your pic looks just like you! :) I think we chatted at the scrapbook event. Steven and Donna found an extra one for me. Thanks for offering!

All this talk of parasailing made me just sign up the whole family! You folks are costing me big bucks! :)

I know! :)

We leave in a few hours for our cruise on the Sapphire Princess.

Woody

Have fun!!!:thumbsup2

It seems as if removing the sim card would work but I have no idea. We bought a small glow in the dark alarm clock we bring and cheap watches. I just dont even want to take a chance.

We have to be mindful of this when we head north to ski in Canada. All you have to do is turn your data plan off. Dh is going to have to make a few calls, so we'll call at&t and adjust his plan for the 2 weeks abroad.

We also take a small glow in the dark clock.

My TA is not Dreams Unlimited. I have used DU in the past. The TA I am using has one of the Disney suites booked on this cruise. They'll have gatherings regularly throughout the cruise for us to come check it out.
Lori

Lori, could you please PM me the name or website of your agent? We sailed across the ship from an agent on the WB PC and I'm wondering if we are across from them this sailing. We were assigned to the midship across from our old stateroom. I'd love to find out if they'd be interested in swapping staterooms. :confused3 It's worth a try. Maybe I'll promise them my business for the next DCL cruise we take. :)
TIA

We didn't learn about the yummy b-fast at Lumiere's until the last few days on the WB PC. Loved the eggs benny and the smoothies! We will definitely go there more often on this cruise.

Oh and this last cruise my friends introduced me to the 'snowfall' a yummy breakfast drink at Lumineres. :thumbsup2

DEE47 I will be glad to share dee..... we could probabaly add a third and still not use all of them :) you may have already have gotten some PMs requesting sharage.... just let me know if I am in or not so I can cross them off my list
thnaks for asking!.....

I am 7 days and bucco pages behind, but, would these Wash and Dry sheets make a possible Fish Extender gift? Those who have too many go together leave one at each cabin for their gift? (We are not doing FE so no matter what you decide we are out of it.)

And--perhaps already discussed--our past experience was that people left one FE gift per cabin or per person (as they prefer) per cruise. Not one gift per day.

 CRUISING SOON!! :yay:

Hi everyone! My best friend and I have lost our minds and decided to book this cruise, today! It feels so late, every cruise that we have ever booked we had at least 18 months to plan. So we feel a little lost. We really need help with the airfare. We are trying to find a great price, but we have no idea what time we should book our flight home. Should we take a taxi to the airport or book a car service? We've both cruised with DCL before, 5 for me and 15 for my friend so we know the ship pretty well. Any help you can offer is sooooo appreciated!

PS We are SOOOOO EXCITED!:yay:

hi woody! and everyone else! I am the crazy best friend!!!! I am also Amanda!!
Woody I think we have sailed with you before?? Maybe Sept of 04/06 ??????
We are soooooo very excited but kinda late to the ball game and would appreciate some guidance!!!

wooohoooooooooooo

Oh yeah I also know Jan is sailing and I do know Jan!! lol
.
:cool1: WELCOME AMANDA and AMANDA :woohoo:
(THANKS AGAIN FOR BEING MY DESIGNATED SHOPPERS!--I am LOVING my bracelet!)

I am daydreaming this cruise all the time! Trying to figure out how leanly we can pack as we will have to pay for luggage since DCL booked us on Delta. SUCH FUN!! (Really, I mean it, I enjoy junk like that. :) )

I hope everyone on the East Coast is safe and warm. I find it ironic that here in the Puget Sound area we are enjoying incredibly beautiful weather today. I just came back from walking my talks and couldn't have asked for a nicer dog-walking weather. :thumbsup2

Weird. We had higher temps than Tallahassee earlier this month! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Anyhow, I really hope you and your families are all safe and warm!!

Hi Jan!

I've been looking at places to stay in London post cruise and my head is swimming! We don't know if there will be two or three of us yet, so maybe I'll give that search a rest till we know for sure. And still haven't explored the options of a B&B!

Think I'll go look at the DCL excursions for Cadiz and Madeira after I make a sandwich.

Did book my flight to MCO for the 9th, so that's done.

Safe, warm, and well fed here in DE Official report for our area (within 2-3 miles of us) is 25 inches! The wind is so crazy some of the grass is showing and driveway (less to shovel:thumbsup2) but we also have 5 foot drifts and I'm not sure my poor upright holly bush/shrub is going to make it:sad1: We lost half of it in the 2003 big snow but it came back beautifully. It is 12 foot high and produces beautiful berries all winter long. It is under 3 feet of snow and touching the ground. :sad2:

They are predicting another 4-8inches on Tues/Wed this week and low temps all week. I'm soooooo done with snow.

Hello all,

Our first post just to say Hi. We are the Youngs....

Karl ....Dad
Amanda....Mum
Liberty ..... DD 4 Years
Amelie ...... DD 2 Years
Chesterfield UK

We'll be flying out to Orlando the day before our cruise, driving over to the cape and crashing the night in a Ramada ready to join the Magic on the Saturday morning.

This will be our first trip on DCL but our second TA. We did the Independance last April after 8 days in WDW. To say the kids are excited would be an understatement.
I'ts also our sixth cruise and our 13th trip across the pond (flying).

We'll also be stopping for a couple of days in Barcelona at the end of the cruise, although it's our second vist there.

We are really looking forward to getting to know you all. And maybe getting a little more knowledge of DCL. We won't be making loads of posts, looking after two kids takes up a lot of time, but we will be reading your posts.

Great to meet you all

The Youngs

:welcome: WELCOME to the Young family!:welcome:

I'm thinking about tea at Reids Palace in Madeira....that's about all the engergy I'll have to expend after six days lazing around on the ship. I've posted a question on cruise critic about the cost of a cab ride. Don't know what my more energetic cabin mates will be looking to do. :confused3 I'm picturing them doing the wicker 'toboggan' run! :scared1:

WELCOME YOUNG FAMILY!!

I guess I spoke too soon, kileybeth. Last report I saw showed 25 inches at the airport in New Castle. If there were no snow, I could walk there from here.

Chili's going on the stove. Cornbread soon.

:welcome:

Young Family!

Warning....Once you go Disney you will never go back !

PS Awesome jewelry site ..very nice stuff!

PSS Posts 1-10 on the first page of this thread have lots of good stuff to read :)

Last cruise I was on they had watches with the ship on them for 9.95 - I bought one for both my husband and I for the cruise. I am so accustomed to just using my cell phone. I could not believe how nice these were for $10.

I am the one who started asking (parasailing) questions ... I do not know how many go out at once on the boat.

--WATCHES: DCL ususlly has a promotion ... spend "x", and you can buy a very nice DCL theme watch (available in MENS and LADIES size) for huge discount. I think it was ... spend $50, and you can buy a $50 DCL watch for $9.99 ... something like that.
dclwatch.jpg

--Parasailing: Usually max of around 8-10 passengers per boat. You cannot go on the boat without a ticket (you cannot go as a spectator). If anyone has concerns about sailing with a stranger - please voice your concerns when you check in at the hut (15 minutes before sailing). On the other hand, so long as you are at or above the minimum weight, the only reason anyone would have to parasail tandem, is due to young age, or if it's fairly windy. In case of the latter, they'd want a higher minimum weight. SO, if you have a 65 pound child, and you weigh 350 ... you would not be able to sail tandem with your child.

We'd love to get a group of late diners with kids ... If you are doing late dining and have kids, feel free to PM or email me. I know our DS (age 8) would have more fun at dinner if other friends from the Lab/Club were there. And then they could all go as a group back when the counselors come to get them and we parents can enjoy the quiet.

KIDS AT 2nd DINNER SEATING: You might consider requesting the same table, so you can sit together. This can be requested through your Travel Agent ... or by calling DCL direct. All parties will have to provide DCL or T/A with reservation #, D.O.B., and names of guests travelling.

Oh and this last cruise my friends introduced me to the 'snowfall' a yummy breakfast drink at Lumineres.
---Okay ... is this for real? Is it r-e-a-l-l-y called a SNOWFALL? Do you know what it's made of? Looks like a Costco Smoothee.

Speaking of drinks ... does anyone know what is in the after dinner "shot" offered at Palo's? I know I said I would ask when I board the ship ... would love to know, to try to replicate for home use.

Not me!!! :scared1:

I saw that Madiera is known for whale/dolphin watching...will be seeing what's offered in that regard. Any one know anything about this?

My 2 cents on parasailing.....Kathe & I did it together on the WBPC (meaning same boat, but parasailed solo not tandem :)).....I'm scared of heights & can get motion sickness watching a movie on tv....but...I LOVED IT!! It was so cool!! I couldn't look down once at the top (had to look side to side) but am so glad I did this. Highly recommend it :thumbsup2

I just bought the $9.95 DCL watch last week on board....it's a bit of a big face for me but I love it...also love seeing the ship when ever I need to see what time it is :)
