Hello from a long-time lurker! Here's my first post, and I hope somebody can help.

My question is the opposite of the one Qltrgrl2 asked. I'm running the second leg of the relay, which means I won't start my part of the run until around 8:30. I'm staying at the Poly, which is very near the relay transition zone. Can I just sleep in and wander over to the transition zone around 8:00 or so?

The official info says I have to be on a bus to the staging area (at Epcot) by 4:00 a.m. Then I stand around until 5:00 a.m. and take another bus to the relay transition zone, where I stand around for another 3 or 4 hours. Surely they jest?

The prevailing wisdom of other threads on this question is that you can wander over from Poly--sounds like lots of people will be doing that. But I would suggest going somewhat earlier than 8. You may need to do bag check for Runner 1, hit the portalets one last time, get to the relay exchange zone, etc. This will take a little time.

But bottom line--you can "sleep in" (Of course, that's a relative term!)

This can work. There are direct crossings of Seven Seas Dr. but they may be closed marathon morning. I would walk to the Ticket sales area at TTC and cross under the road at that point. Give yourself an extra 1/2 hour to make this hike.

:welcome: Jena!

I'm staying at the Poly for this reason. DH doesn't want to get up any earlier than he has to. :teeth:

Thanks, everybody! I certainly didn't want to get on that 4 a.m. bus if I didn't have to!
