3rd/4th of July closures??

We are doing MK on the 3rd and Epcot on the 4th...do we need to get in the parks by a certain time and stay? Any chance of closures?

There's a strong chance of closures at MK on the 3rd but Epcot, due to its large size, rarely sees a phased closure so you should be okay. On the 3rd just keep an eyeball on the crowds. I'd get there for RD, take an afternoon break to beat the heat and crowds, and return in the evening. Any phased closings should be lifted by then as people trickle out.

Although many many years ago, we were at WDW when the MK closed. Epcot was very crowded as well. We had AP and decided to make it our pool and wash clothes day! In the late evening it was raining and the parks were emptying. We went to MK about 11 pm and a mass of people were leaving. We came in and went through the stores and on rides with no wait!

There is also an order of who is admitted to a park once it reaches a certain capacity. I recall reading it here on these boards. I don't know it off hand but honestly I don't know if I would want to be in a park that crowded anyway.

Well it's just dh and I so we can handle the big crowds, but seriously this week hasn't been crowded at all if you ask me! Our mid June trips have been much worse! I realize the 3rd and 4th will be much worse but as far as the rest of the week it has been great!
