Going on our first trip next month and was wondering about Internet in the park, I believe the WiFi is unreliable so was looking at data options. I'm currently with tmobile but their international options seem excessive, I think I can get a payg sim with 3 that will give a lot more international data fire similar money but any experienced visitors know about the signal there

We have used Three for the last few trips, it uses either AT&T or T-Mobile so signals are usually excellent.
We had slight connectivity issues last trip travelling over 2,000 miles thru 8 States but generally Three network is brilliant UK or USA.

Three was very good through quite often our two Three phones were on different networks (e.g. one on AT&T, one on TMobile) even though we were in the same place. Either way no problems getting data. We used the wifi at Universal, Disnet and most bars/restaurants though. Signal on the beach was more patchy but still usually 3G or better.

DH's phone didn't connect on arrival so we had to call Three customer service to resolve the issue which wasted about 20 minutes. They couldn't explain why roaming hadn't activated as this is done by default but it got resolved.

I always just use Disney wi fi for free which has improved since they started it. There are some corners of the hotels and parks that don't pick up but mostly I have found it to be more than adequate. Had a weird one at POR a couple of years ago where I could get a reception on one side of the quiet pool but not the other

This is the first year we had Three so were able to use mobile data but we have previously never had problems getting online via wifi regularly - if you're not already with them, I wouldn't bother switching. Almost every shop, restaurant, hotel and bar has a connection, and the park wifi is definitely usable at both Disney & Universal.

The only time we had issue with the wifi at Disney was during a sporting event at the hotel we were staying at - as soon as everyone else went home normal service resumed, the wifi is generally okay in all parks/hotels now and even the airports, restaurants etc. I turned all my data off for our entire trip in April.

Two years ago I dropped my phone half way through our holiday so for the past two years have taken a spare phone with a 3 PAYG with the £15 add on but the wifi has much improved and this year hardly used it. I used whatsapp for texts and phone calls on my main phone so probably won't bother with the 3 sim again.
