With the talk that there will be new 3DTVs to purchase, movies, shows, even whole networks devoted to 3D which seems to be all the rage, are you interested in purchasing something like this down the road?

I think it's great to go to the occasional 3D movie in the theaters, but it wouldn't be for me at home, all the time.

Do you really think this will stick, or be a passing fad?

Too early for me to have a strong opinion one way or the other. It's definitely something that sounds interesting. I think it will be a few years for set prices to come down to reasonable levels. And that is the driving force behind any new technology.

If it is like the 3D movies, I'd not be that interested. I've noticed a significant trade off in brightness and contrast to achieve the 3D. I've seen some so dim, that I wished they had not been done in 3D.

Maybe it is your theater. We love the 3-D movies we see. They are on DLP projector and very bright and have great contrast.

Too early to tell if this will be successful. I'd be interested in seeing a demonstration.:3dglasses

he only 3D I have seen is at WDW and you have to wear the glasses. As a glasses wearer fitting 3D glasses on over is bad enough for a 5 minute show so I would not want them for a 3 hr movie let alone every day TV.

I would buy one, but it would have to be top notch. If you buy anything cheap with this kind of set up you are going to get bad 3D graphics. It's like buying a 3D DVD...Blu Ray makes it so much better to view.popcorn:: For Example, the polar express in 3D doesn't look much different and you have to wear 3D glass just to view it. The 3D effects are lost. But the Blu Ray for Journey to the Center of the Earth, was awesome when I watched it. :3dglasses You just have to go high quality.:happytv:

:cool2:Plus I love having all the latest stuff when I can:cool1::woohoo:

Not interested in the least bit. I've seen a demonstration and it is not too impressive. After watching Up in blu-ray I don't see how much television picture quality can improve that would make me want to upgrade.

I would not be interested. TV is addictive enough without one more reason to stay glued to it. We've stuck to a small, fairly old TV just so we won't be tempted to watch even more than we do.

I don't really like 3-D movies so it doesn't interest me. Before it is widely accepted they will have to find a way to do it without glasses.

They way in which content is delivered as the television and web converge is much more interesting to me then 3D television.

I don't even have HDTV yet.

We have an old old Sony that still has a good picture and is 21".

We don't watch that much TV. My DH will watch shows on the computer when he's using it.

herc.

We saw one in the SonyStyle store and I thought it was a decent picture. I do wear glasses, but the 3D glasses you have to wear fit over them without a problem, not like the movie theater or WDW 3D glasses. My husband did feel like he was getting a headache watching, but he is like that sometimes so probably unavoidable for him. I was totally fine with it, no sickness or headaches.

I would get one if I were in the market for a new tv, just to have it as an option, but I wouldn't use the 3D feature on a regular basis. In fact, it would likely be my kids watching stuff in 3D more than anyone else. The price that the SonyStyle people mentioned didn't seem outrageous like I thought it would be either so that's a plus too.

Another here that still does not have HDTV. :rolleyes1

Now would I want a strictly 3DTV? No.

I would prefer a TV that I could go inbetween HD and 3D.

It wouldn't need to be 3D all the time, so you could go back and forth. Not every channel will even offer 3D programming so it certainly wouldn't be in 3D then.

Not interested in the least.. I find they trigger my migraines.. Yuck!!
