3am in MK a hit..and we made it til the end!

I can't wait to try this. I remeber when my DS's were 6 & 8 and we went for the 25th anniversary and stayed up until 1:30am. Both DS's were still going strong. Now, however, at 14 & 15 DS's get cranky by 10 pm. I wish that my family would stay up until 3am but i can already see the arguing.

DMRick-- we were there last night too!! :cool1:

We only lasted until 2, though... we could have gone until 3, but we had already done everything we wanted to!! We walked on to BTMRR three times in a row!! :teeth:

It was a really magical night ::MickeyMo

Awesome!! My DS 22 and BestFriend 21 will love this.

My plan is now to start in NON-EHM parks, do a few hours together (the family thing for the DS 8) and let the older boys go. We have PAP's hopping will not be an issue. They love late nights (they both work nights so this will be up their alley), but they will still have to do the "family thing" each morning in a different park. Guess they will be doing the "back for an afternoon nap". DS 8 and I hate to leave until we can't stand it anymore, but that is supject to change.

We (DS 8 and I) will stay at the park, when tired (and no idea's of doing it ALL!) go back to the resort for dinner, pool, shower, prepping for the next day and SLEEP!

We are night owls (all adults) so we would love this!

One thing I've wondered about, with MK being open til 3 a.m., was how the clean up crews would have the park ready for opening the next morning. MK is a huge place...do they bring in extra manpower to do all the work on a shortened turnaround time? Any CM's out there that would know how this is managed? Yes, I do think about things like this!! :teeth:

LOL! They manage with PIXIE DUST!! Just a quick sprinkling and everything is ready for the next day! :wizard:

OF COURSE!!!

How could I have been so dumb?? I forgot about the pixie dust!!! :wizard: :teeth: :p

That would be so awesome....There isn't a MK EMH during our next trip either. Guess it'll have to wait....glad you guys had such a great time! :)

That sounds so cool and fun. Wish they had one that late when we are there.

Gosh I hope they have this going when I go in December! My girls are a little young, but if we chill out the morning before and sleep in the next morning, we can at least make it til 1:00! That sounds like so much fun.

It was only 3 am because it was a very crowded busy week and MK closed at Midnight. Off season when Mk closes at lets say 9:00p, then MK will close at Midnight...just reminding some who might think MK is always open till 3am every EMH night at MK.

Curious - why was this a busy week? Because of President's Day? Didn't realize that was considering a busy time.

Yep, that's exactly why and yes, President's week is very busy at Disney because so many kids have the whole week off. In my 8 year old's 3rd grade class alone at least 4 kids were heading to WDW.

Wow! You guys get that whole week off? We only had Monday off, and some schools around here had off a day the previous week instead. That's why I had no idea. I was surprised they had MK open til midnight this week, but figured they must be experimenting with something...

Sounds great. I haven't done one of those all nighters since Brasilian Carnaval in '99. We all saw this red thing over the Sambadrome at some point and someone said it was the sun coming back up. Maybe when the kids are older we'll try this at Disney.

The last group in the park, how cool is that? Did you see anyone heading for the busses? I wonder if they would run a bus for just a couple of people, or if they would take them back to their resort in one of the vans.

Looking for input please, how have the lines been at MGM for the Evening magic hours? We are coming on May 15th for the Danskin Triathalon, and plan to spend the day at MK. We are trying to decide if it is worth staying onsite to qualify for the extended hours at MGM that night. (We love the Aerosmith Roller coaster!) Last year when we went in May and stayed for the extended hours at Epcot, there were so few rides open, the lines were REALLY long. I've read a lot of about the lines at MK for the magic hours. Has anyone experienced the extended magic hours at MGM?

Thanks for your insights!

Ilka

I did grad night and stayed all night in Disney! It was tiring but what an amazing night. Are there any more of these planned. Are they calling them a special name or is it just EMH. I would love to catch one of these while we are down there in May.

Wow thats great you still feel young enough to keep up with your grandkids for an allnight funfest at Magic Kingdom what magical memories you made with your family!

Also my DH loves the Mickey with the FireFighter in your signiture, he is looking forward to finding a disney Fire dept shirt, he is convinced he will find one, we will see!
Like he needs another FD t-shirt.
