Shoot, oldest DD13 wanted to meet Vader when we go in April and ask where she signs up to join the dark side. She hasn't seen the new movie yet, guess we'll put it on our list to see soon.

According to the Chase website, it says you can use the Disney debit card?
This is from their website:
Touch down for a visit to the Dark Side.
Feel the power of the Force at the Star Wars Imperial Meet ‘N’ Greet at our private Cardmember locations now open at the Disneyland ® Resort and at Walt Disney World®Resort.2, 3 Available to all Disney Visa Credit Cardmembers.

They specifically mention credit (not debit) for the Star Wars M&G. I have done it already on 2 separate trips and saw debit card holders get turned away both times.

You can use a debit card at the DCA normal meet, but it has to be a credit card if you want to do the DL Imperial meet.
And like Girimama33, I have seen debit cardholders turned away - even after CMs made multiple announcements to the small line that had congregated.

My DD14 is soooo excited to be doing this M&G (we do have a Disney Visa credit card) and is already planning on telling Kylo Ren that she "LOOOOVES his grandfather" :rotfl:. She asked me if Kylo Ren would be jealous after she tells him that...crazy kid :goodvibes.

We did the Visa Cardholder Meet & Greet on Sunday (1/24). When we checked in we were told we would meet a character from The Dark Side but weren't told who it was. It was Kylo Ren.

We all thought it was cool to meet him but was a somewhat bizarre experience. Not at all like the other photography experiences in the parks. Kylo Ren was, as to be expected, completely in character. No hugs or handshakes or anything like that. He was very intense the whole time. The weird/uncomfortable part was that the photographers and other cast members in the room were the same way. No smiles and they didn’t tell us where to stand, how to pose, or anything. So most of our pictures look a bit awkward, as we didn’t really know what to do.

One of our friends in our group asked another cast member about it and they said that all of the cast members in the room during the Meet & Greet photo session were supposed to be “in character” too. But, it didn’t really come across that way. It just came across as disinterested.

Definitely the least fun photo experience I’ve had at DLR.

My experience with Vader was similar. It was my friend who really wanted to meet him, so I stood back and let him go up solo. Vader would sort of face the camera, then turn to my friend and play a pre-recorded line and make a gesture. Then I hopped in and we took 2 pics and then Vader went into his spiel again and even walked my friend to the exit and played a final recorded comment. When we checked the pictures later there was one where he face the camera with my friend, the 2 I was in and then several awkward pics where they were sort of looking at each other or mid gesture.

I can see it both ways. After waiting in line for 20 minutes or more you want some interaction. And they've themed the rooms, so it's cool that the CMs are somewhat "in character," but I would also like the option to just say, go in, do 2 poses, and leave if I don't want to play act the whole thing every time. I think if Kylo Ren was giving hugs, some people might complain. Though, I mean, if I happen to dressed as Han, I'd want a hug, with a red lightsaber sticking out behind me.

This would be great but Canadians don't have access to these cards. Disappointing.

I've seen somewhere that these say for 6 people in a party. We are 7, one being a 2 yr old. Will they really not let us all in together? Do they enforce this? We are obviously a family, not 7 adults trying to sneak in together.

Why? You can still meet the same character in a separate location. You do not have to have a Disney Visa to meet Kylo Ren.

I think you will be fine. They probably consider the amount of space for the photo and how many people they can fit in it.

I saw another commenter say that her son really wanted to meet Darth Vader and give him a hug. I just hope people know what to expect before going to this. It was our first Visa Meet & Greet and we were definitely thrown off a bit. When we walked out (a family of 5 that we were with and then me & my 2 boys) we all looked at each other and said "What just happened??"

Kylo Ren was there when we went...I mean it was cool but Darth Vader is ICONIC. I'll post photos later - very in character.
