So...it was car shopping after residence moving day! I had done a lot of research, and decided with living in Alberta that AWD was my top priority, so I stuck with Subaru. And the winning car is...

My new red Subaru Forester! I have never done this before (successfully), but this car is deserving of a good name, so once he arrives he will be Gaston, as he is red and black. Plus, I need a good protective vehicle - no more getting run into, Gaston will protect me! Hopefully it will be only 3 weeks until he arrives in Alberta, because it might get a bit wet riding the scooter to work each day, and I'm a bit of a whiny Princess sometimes!

SO FREAKIN' JEALOUS!!!! If you only knew how many hours of my days are spent daydreaming about a new car... But it just never happens because I give all of my money to MICKEY MOUSE.

Yea for new car!!! Don't you just love that new car smell? Heated seats are so awesome! The car I drive now doesn't have them and on those snowy days they sure would be nice!
At least you still have your scooter for nice days, but it's great to have an actual roof when it's hailing!

- I have the money set aside in the Super Secret Disney account. However, that is because I am not financially responsible, and should be using that money to pay for part of the car. However... I did need to replace the car, and it wasn't my fault that someone drove into our other car!

I support this! Perfectly reasonably and logical. No reason to let an accident that wasn't your fault spoil your Disney plans!

- DD22 will at some point this month be purchasing the other car, not just driving it for free. So we will pay off a chunk of car in one fell swoop.

See? Guilt assuaged.

Fairy Godmother says leave DH at home to do DH things, and take yourself on a solo trip. Half the airfare, and you could get away with probably half as many nights at the resort, thus resulting in HUGE overall savings for you. THAT, my friend, is Disney Math.

I am very jealous of your new ride. I've been wanting a Subaru Forester for a couple of years now but am currently spoiled with no car payment. Problem is, I have an 85 lb Bernese Mtn. dog that is a huge pain when I have to transport her in my small little two door Sunfire. Plus my Sunfire is 15 years old... but still running well so hard to give it up. Decisions, decisions...
