I keep going back and forth on this cant decide. I do believe the iPods will last a few years, I have a 3rd generation iPod Touch which has more than enough room! Im iffy on buying the 8gbs for my daughters and then having to constantly delete and redo them. I like the price of the 8gb though :rotfl: I won a $150 gc to Best Buy from work that I am putting towards the purchases.

Depends on how much music will be on it... I've got 30GB of music on my iPad; that would basically fill up a 32B iTouch (since there's only about 27-29GB available for use on a 32GB model, due to the operating system, etc.).

:goodvibes I did a search, we are going with the 32gb there will be movies, apps, and not as much music :goodvibes

DH regrets buying 8gb because it will only fit 3 movies at a time.
He wishes he had spent more and is trying to get me to buy his old one so he can buy a new one.

Yeah, you won't regret it. It records HD (720p) video, has the Retina Display, so the apps it can use are getting larger (more "Universal" iPhone/iPod touch/iPad apps).

My DD9 had a 2nd gen 8 GB, and my DD6 had a 32 GB 2nd gen. The 10 hour drives to WDW, 8 GB wasn't enough. For her birthday this year, when she had some money saved, she asked for gift cards and got the 32 GB. Much happier.

My 9 year old has a 32g. 2 movies on it and some music, not even close to full. We didn't need that much. She really only wants to play the apps, listen to music and facetime. I thought she'd watch movies on it but she never does. Funny because we can't run errands without her begging for the movie to be on in the car. But if we are at the doctor or whatever she doesn't watch movies on that touch

I ripped all of my old CDs into my itunes library. So many that they don't all fit onto my 32GB ipod touch! My daughter has an 8GB 3rd gen ipod touch. She's constantly having to delete old songs and add new ones in order to take the music she wants with her. For the money, I would definitely go with the 32GB. No one ever regrets having more storage space.

If she's going to put music videos, tv shows or movies on it, you should definitely go for something bigger than 8g.

And how much music will she have? I have about 18 gig of music on mine, and would hate to have to constantly move music on and off it. I like having it all there and available so that I can listen to whatever I want when the mood strikes me.

When I bought the iTouch, I sprung for the 64 gig one (is that still an option?) Then last year when I got my iphone I knew I couldn't go with the 16 gig, so I upgraded to the 32gig. Had the option for a 64 gig iPhone been available, I would have paid for that.

don't buy the 8gb

you run out of room really fast (i know from experience :rotfl:)

I could only get on music and maybe 2 movies which doesn't work well for trips

Our 32gb are all maxed out. So many movies now offer digital copies that if you buy movies you could fill it up fast.

:goodvibes Thank you!! a 32gb is for sure then, now to show my hubby the upside of this lol $100 more

I need to buy two ipod touch for Christmas (one for each kid).
Buying two 8g seems a lot more affordable to my budget than two 32g.
My kids would only be using music & game apps.
They do not care about having movies on the Itouch. Plus, I will not pay for a movie on Ipod that I know they would only watch 1 or 2x. We will just continue w/99 cent blockbuster/redbox rentals for movies.
Most of what I'm reading is saying that 8g is too small to hold movies.
So my is question is- if you are not downloading movies, do you think the 8g would be just fine?
Thanks

My 8gig is all that I need :goodvibes 32 is of course better... but 8 is fine!!

Completely understand. The additional amount for 2 32's is the cost of an 8.

I would still suggest getting the larger. 4 times the storage, and as the devices get better? The apps will get bigger. There is no real way to add more storage to it later.

A few suggestions to save you money. If you are taking any college courses, they have a discount site (even one class counts). EDIT: Looks like that option is only for computers now... Hmm, that's new.

Your employer may have a discount, too. Most are about the same. For instance, through the employee discount site from my employer, I get the 32 gb for $281 versus $299.

If neither of those are options for you, wait until black Friday. That is the only day the apple store has sales. Both in store and at store.apple.com and the price will be roughly the same as the $281 above.
