32 + 24 + 20 + 4 = 5 Fantasmic Days in the World --4/2 update

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for being able to stay for the EMH's at MK and staying an extra night to sleep before heading home.

Yes, Indiana Jones is NOT the movie I'd be watching before planning the Wild Trek. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

:laughing:Love the Indiana Jones picture:thumbsup2 I wouldn't want to watch that movie while planning to do the trek.

Your trip is looking better and better. The Trek looks amazing and I can't wait to see all of your pictures. The breakfast they serve looks very good too.

I have seen in one TR that they mentioned the noodle place being open. They made sure to take pictures and everything to prove it.

Yay for an extra day at Disney. Pop is a great choice for one extra night.

Too funny about watching Indy! Good call on adding a night at POP and not driving late at night, much better to have a few full park day and late night at MK! A lovely breakfast before hitting the road sounds just perfect to me.

Changes are always good!!!!! :thumbsup2

I hope you do get to take the Trek. It is really fun! I loved it and don't forget to take your camera. It's easy to get pictures while you are on the trek!

Geez I can't believe I missed posts here, sorry! I have been waiting for more facts before posting more updates, but logged to say I am in DOUBLE DIGITS!!! Tomorrow I will post what I've been up to.

See its not just us that does not believe its ever open!

That's what I thought too. I just hope food coma doesn't set in from the tonga toast!

We are goint to take our playsport and try for some video!

Oh my gosh, I have just been so busy with basketball, girl scouts, and life I have been neglecting my own PTR. Plus I realized that I have just about finished giving an overview of our days. so I will finish that up and then start working on my trip binder and any special art crafts that I will be working on.

Last week my BFF Lesley confirmed that she will be going with us in June. Still not sure if her DH is going. But that means that I added her to our trip. This caused me to make a few adjustments.

The cool perk is that we will now qualify for the 40% military discount on our room. We did have a 30%, but hey, I am NOT sneezing at an extra 10% off of the price of YC Club Level!!!! The tricky part is that when you use the military discount, you have to purchase your tickets separately. YAY for also getting military discounts on tickets. Drawback is that you can get only four days, not five. So we will still have to buy a single day park hopper for each of us. Bottom line? We will end up saving about $30 over all.

Lesley agreed to pick up the passes in advance (tax free!) so we will just have to add a day regular price to our passes when we get there. I am also really hoping that we can add the tickets to our KTTW card. It just simplifies things to have everything on one card.

I posted last time (geez two weeks!) that we have also added a single night at POP at the end of our trip. I am really looking forward to this. Prior to seeing all the fun photos here on the Dis, I confess, I had not considered the values. I was warned off of them by several friends because of the large high school groups that can take over the resort, particularly in January, which was when we went to WDW the first two times. But seeing so many fun pictures here has me really looking forward to staying here, even if for one night. Really, we just want a place to crash. but being on property definitely makes the traveling easier, and we then moved our Kona reservation to Saturday morning.

I see also that my long awaited lunch location is....missing! I posted a picture from the internet but I guess the link was broken. I am looking forward to a Friday lunch at Sunshine Cafe in Epcot. Its one of those locations that I always want to try and never make it there.

I am falling asleep at my keyboard so am going to have to wrap this up. (Katie was up all of last night throwing up, and I got only about 2 1/2 hours of sleep so I am done for tonight! but my little sweetie is much better, so that's what really matters.)

G'night All!:cloud9:

Totally missed this update! Good news on saving money! Hey $30 is two ritas at the Ditch! That's the way I look at it.

I actually think staying at the values is fun because there is so much to look at. And I think Pop is cuter in person than in any picture you might see.

Glad things are still coming together for your trip! :goodvibes

I missed this update as well! Wonderful news that your friend can make it and 30 bucks is 30 bucks! that's odd that the tickets are only 4 days though....

A value is perfect for a place to crash. We almost stayed there in 2010 but then that part of the trip turned into 3 nights and we decided we couldn't do it for that many nights. LOL! I still would like to stay there for 102 nights at some point and do want to check out the art of animation resort.

I am sorry I missed your lasdt update; this DIS being slow, etc., is throwing a lot of us off for new updates, etc. It is personally giving me a major :headache:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for a little extra savings. That can go towards some adult beverages, souvenirs for Katie, etc.

I'm sorry your little pumpkin was sick; hope she is 100% by now.

LOVE how you ladies think ...just like me. $30 a person savings it TOTALLY going into the slushie fund LOL. Lesley and I were just discussing the merits of 'ritas vs sangria at La Hacienda. figured we will have to try each!:rotfl:

Thanks Kathy - Katie is all better today & back in school. I felt so bad for her yesterday. she looked so sad and cute at the same time when she said "this throwing up stuff really sucks" Yes, Yes it Does Katie ;-)

Cynthia - not that this will be an issue for your crew, but when I wanted to check the availability of the Art of Animation, it came up unavailable -- and I think it was because we are only a party of 3. I am guessing that they are at least initially restricting reservations to bigger groups so that "lookie loos" (like me!) don't tie up the rooms.

The military discount is a fantastic discount - $138 for 4 days, park hopper. Likely because the deal is so good that they are limiting the number of days. If we were 100% sure that Colin (her DH) was not going, we could buy 2 4 day passes for each of us and it would be almost the same as buying 1 4 day pass plus 1 regular park hopper day. but there is a limit of 6 passes per person, and you can only get 5 passes if the actual soldier/veteran is not with you.

I'm glad Katie is feeling better. It's the worst to watch our kids being that sick and not being able to do anything.

:cool1: for your BFF being able to come and to saving $30.

Hi friends, i am just taking a minute to post a non Disney update. My mother in law passed quite suddenly Monday evening. This past week has been jam packed with tasks and spending time with family, remembering Mom and making plans. Hopefully i will be back online soon, catching up on everyone's plans and trips, and updating my own trip!

So sorry to hear that! I hope your DH is doing OK. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry for your loss.

Thanks for the kind thoughts. Its been a long week and everyone sorta crashed after the funeral yesterday, and it has carried through to today. we are a close family so will be here for each other, and that's really what it takes.

Mary Ellen, I am so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. Sending prayers and hugs to you, Joe and to Katie and all of your family.

Thanks so much for your prayers and hugs. It really hit me at mom's viewing just how much I really AM comforted by knowing that she is happy and moving on to the next step in life, free of the pains of this world.

So I had to go back and re-read my plans and then my changes and figure out where exactly I am in this PTR! Sorry folks. I am just so scattered with planning this trip! (and I am apparently picture shy too because I just can't find any of my photos tonight!:surfweb:)

So Friday, June 8 will be our last day in the parks. Not being the type to waste time sleeping or lazing about, I see that Epcot has EMH in the morning. Assuming Joe gets up for a run, Lesley and I can get everything packed up and ready to go while he is out. I am wondering if Disney has a late check out policy? I may have to ask. It would be great if we didn’t have to leave all of our stuff in the car in between checking out of Yacht Club & into Pop Century.

Provided we can have just about everything packed, we will hit the park early. Since we won’t be leaving until tomorrow, we can I am hoping to enter the park early and bee line for Soarin! and depending on what the crowd level is like that morning, spend some time in the Land and in Innoventions.

I would really like to have lunch at the Sunshine Café. I mentioned before that this has been on my list of places to eat for a while, but we never seem to make it there. On this day it will really depend on crowd levels, check out timing at Yacht Club, and how hot it is.

If we are checked out of YC, we will stay in Epcot and FutureWorld till after lunch. Then we will finally lunch at Sunshine Café. After lunch we will head back out through the International Gateway, get in the car, and head over to Pop Century!

If we are not checked out of YC, and its hot out, we may hit FutureWorld till about 11 am, go back to YC, have one last bite at the club lounge, and hit the pool for a little while. By 2 we will want to be dressed and on our way to Pop.

I have never stayed at Pop, never visited it, and don’t even know that much about the resort. Is there a building or a special request we should make? We will want to be relatively close to our car, so that we don’t have far to lug our stuff. Joe will NOT let our luggage sit in the car overnight so even if we don’t need anything, we will be taking it all in with us. I read on Brooke’s page that some rooms in Pop now have a fridge and free wi-fi. Anyone know where?

If we have not had lunch at Sunshine Cafe, we will be hungry, and will have a counter service meal. Our dinner is not till 7:30. ideas?? should we visit Pop’s food court, and wander through the resort a little, or hurry over to Magic Kingdom? really, we could go anywhere for the afternoon, as long we are at MK for dinner and EMH.

Magic Kingdom is predicted to be a 7.9 this day on touringplans. do we need to worry about getting in? should we wait til later in the day and just show up for our dinner reservations? Spend the whole day at Epcot and only go to MK at 9 pm? The park is open till 1 a.m. and we plan to close the park J So what do you DIS’ers say?

I should tell you that our dinner reservations at MK are for Crystal Palace. Joe just went on and on about how much he enjoyed eating there last time, and so when we added one night at Pop, I knew we could user our last dinner credit for a late dinner. Knowing we want to be at MK for the night, this is the pick.

Now, playing second guesser, and wondering what you all are thinking as to our last day’s plan, I am pondering changes. If we stay at Epcot for most of the day, heading to MK as it closes for regular hours, I could make reservations for Akershus Banquet Hall in Norway, or the Biergarten in German, two other big favorites of Joe. We have never done Akershus for dinner, only breakfast. Hmmm. decisions decisions.

What do you guys think? what would you do? something totally different?

I like the plans. Yes, you can ask for late check-out, but there is no guarantee.

I would NOT change your dinner ADR. We have not done dinner at Akerhaus, but we ate lunch there and were not impressed at all. We were also very disappointed in our meal at Biergarten in 2010...we won't be going back any time soon.
