Mary Ellen, the plans sound great for the day. You will LOVE Beauty & The Beast (one of my favorite shows at all of the parks). We cancelled 50's Prime Time in September too and hope to fit it in this trip.
I think you and Joe will really like One Man's Dream; we try to catch it at least every other trip.
The rest of the plans sound terrific.
We are SO looking forward to this trip. Even though I still have a momentary lapse where I consider bringing Katie, I think that this trip will be great for us too. Hmm what will we talk about for a week with no child interruption?I am so happy you are finally getting away for a real anniversary trip. We never had a real honeymoon or big trips together but finally managed to get away for our 10th on the Dream.
That is so cute that you can see the Indiana Jones show since it was your first date movie![]()

I love watching Say Yes to the Dress... and also DAvid Tutera's wedding show where he redoes everything. The Disneyland princess wedding had Katie and I both teary eyed! Even Joe had to watch the end of that one (shhhhh)I really enjoyed all your flashback pictures! Your daughter is so adorable and looks like she is having the time of her life.
Happy Anniversary! Love the wedding pics. After watching so many episodes of "Say Yes to the Dress", its nice to see a flashback to the old dresses. I probably scan one of my wedding pics one of these days.
I don't know if I ever mentioned it, but Denny and I celebrated our 20th anniversary in the world about 3 weeks before our actually anniversary. We had the absolute best time. We didn't actually book it thinking "anniversary". We just couldn't pass up the free dining at the time, but decided to turn it into an anniversary celebration. Once we put those 20 year pins on we felt like celebs. Every CM was so nice to us and we got several nice little perks throughout the trip, including balloons from Pop. It was very cool.
Joe is usually mr. budget guy too but not for DisneyThanks for sharing the wedding pictures. Congratulations. Twenty years is certainly no small feat. I also love the pictures from your first Disney trip. Katie is so young and so adorable. How old was she there? And you are correct...CSR is really beautiful. If there's a July trip (and that's a big IF), we may stay there. Although Mark really wants to go back to the BC.I find this hillarious, as he's all about saving money in every other aspect of his life.
Kids are great, and while I don't have the patience to be a teacher (God bless you!) I do love being involved with Katie and with brownies and sunday school.I'm glad you had such a good time on your NYC trip. Times Square can be a lot of fun and the new Disney store is pretty cool. I never saw the Mama Mia show on Broadway, just the movie, but the show must have been great. And I know what you mean... Mom... mom... mommy...add in my kids at school calling out Mrs. Caplan every three seconds and well...you can lose your mind!I had a moment during our snow storm last weekend, when Mark had gone to the gym and I somehow convinced Max to stay in his room for an hour and the house was totallly quiet and I just sat for awhile, watching the snow, and thought, "Wow...its nice to just sit for a moment without anyone, wanting anything."
Of course, kids are pretty amazing, too.
Yeah, see I like the idea of being able to have more than one sit down a day if I want, but really it would be too much for us for the most part. We just don't do big breakfasts and if we have a big lunch then would just want a salad or something for dinner so the regular plan is perfect for us. though last May we realized that Katie is sort of outgrowing the kids plans, so we will not do dining plan when we take her next - then we can still pay kids admission to the park, and just let her order from either menu, depending on what she is in the mood for. Last year it took us a day or two to realize that at QS meals kids don't HAVE to order from the kids menu, so i know the one day I let her have my adults meal and I had the kids meal at lunch.Your DHS plans look like they'll be a blast. I think you're smart after a day of so much touring, to have dinner at your resort. That will be a nice, relaxing way to end you day.![]()
I also have to add that while Mark and I can certainly eat, we did find the Deluxe plan to be way tooo much food. It can be OK if you plan it right, maybe breakfast or an early lunch and mostly signatures later at night. But even, so its a LOT. We went without a dining plan at all in July and we loved it. We could cancel things whenever we wanted, which is helpful with an unpredictable four year old. That said, we're going with the regular plan this time, so we'll see what we think of that.
How fun Mary Ellen - they had actual 20 year pins? cool! but they probably don't have them any more. we'll see.
Thanks Cynthia!Wonderful flashback pictures! And congratulations, it is such an accomplishment, especially today.
Are we done.....I love the idea of a couples WDW trip. One Man's Dream is wonderful and even more so (honestly) if you don't have the kids with you going...are you done yet?
We keep missing PTC, and normally do not have 2 TS meals in a day, but I am thinking if we have a very light breakfast, that we can make it work for one day. Joe prefers an earlier dinner normally so I think that 7 hours between lunch & dinner we'll be okay. We are not big snackers -- a piece of fruit or a 90 cal fiber one bar is what we usually bring to the parks. Every time I see all the deliciously yummy snacks that people have here on the boards, I think "OH I WANT THAT" but I know that unless we completely skip a meal it probably won't happen.Your day sounds really great, I love PTC, it's a ton of fun and good food too. You might need a nap after dinner though with that lunch as well, drinks by the pool, or a walk around the lake to walk it off can be lovely.
YAY!Same pin. They just wrote "20th" in there - NICE AND BIG!!!!!!
Life is crazy, and this trip is 8 months away June 2012 so I promise that I wont be doing daily updates. Really! Dont give up on me, but dont feel guilty if you dont get here all the time I wont be here either. Ill probably be on YOUR PTR or TR! But I hope you stop over when you have a few minutes!

You are too funny!!!
Congrats on the Beach Club!!!errrr..... I mean the Yacht Club!
I have never been to WDW without kids so I can't tell you which is better... I think you deserve a few days alone with your DH.
Don't forget... if your friends do end up coming, you can 'link' your reservations and request adjoining rooms. (I'm not sure if they are staying club level and I don't know the layout of YC but they should request a building near the club rooms)
So. I'm going through your updates 1 by one and I'm sure you've made some adjustments... forgive me if I don't realize it till later. :hippie:
Dining
I love Raglan Rd. I've only had great meals here.. I think we have eaten there 2 times.
50's PT. This is on my 'possibles' list for November. We have never eaten here.
CP- Early breakfast here is sooo good!
OK... so you go and change all your ADRs on me!Maybe I should read through the whole report before I comment. LOL
I see Kona breakfast has made your 'new' list... I talked Kathy into eating there. You better not change this one. It is sooo good there!
Your park day plans look good so far.
Oh, and Katie is such a QT! I can see how it will be hard leaving her home.![]()
All caught up!![]()
Naturally, she replied with laughterPlease don't put me on the "annoying can't make up her mind" client list!
My BFF called last night to say yes, they can go with us to Disney in June -- as long as we all room together its in their budget. WAHOO. I emailed her this morning and asked if she was absolutely sure before I add them to our reservation.
Then Joe called and asked me if I had seen the Backstage Safari Tour (But really its called the Wild Africa Trek). HELLOOO Novice! Of course I looked at it but when I saw the rope bridges, I figured that was out. Today he said one of his buddies took the tour and loved it, and he was sure he would be okay with it because you are in a safety harness.
OK so you can disregard this but I just thought I would share with you how complicated I make my life sometimes.
So in between working this afternoon, I got to thinking back to one of my earlier thoughts: staying in a moderate and purchasing the premium DDP -- the one that includes every tour, mini golf, and 3 TS meals a day. hmm then we could do a tour a day, and have some signature meals. but i am not sure if its a great idea. Is it too big an undertaking to take a special park tour basically every day? would we spend our whole day eating and touring and not doing rides and shows in the parks?? AAAAGGHHH help! Plus, overall, the total cost of a moderate, Prem DDP, 5day park hopper for 4 cannot cost more (well a little would be acceptable but close) than upping our current ressie to add two people, which would be $4106.72 (see I keep all your totals in my big spreadsheet!).
am I crazy????? Usually I play on the planning site first but since they are now offering room only discounts or free dining, they don't even list the premium plan in the dining options, so I am not able to see if its even feasible, before I even mention it to Joe (who is really looking forward to the lazy river and being able to walk to DHS and Epcot).

thought you'd get a chuckle!!!
I just called Joe to see what he thought of my crazy idea and he is totally looking forward to YC so we won't change that at all and will do just one tour.
We will definitely be doing the Backstage Safari - I am waiting to hear from Lesley & Colin whether they are 100% and how they feel about the tour, so I know whether we will all 4 go, or we will split up for a little while.![]()
and of course this means that I will have to change some of my plans and dinner reservations because AK was supposed to be a Tuesday, and they don't offer that tour on Tuesdays.
so this email is no work for you at all, just a chance to chuckle at my obsessiveness with all things Disney.
THIS is the day that we WILL see the rope drop show at the Magic Kingdom. Last year we almost made it. This time, we will be at the MK by 7:30 a.m.
I do think that this day we may break down and drive to the MK or at least to the TTC .Any one have insight on the travel process/time from YC to MK? I know it a bus, but have heard that because there are three resorts in that one area, it can take quite a while just to get out of the resort area. I want to first see the rope drop show at MK. MK opens at 8 am.
I do know, however, that Joe and I will be taking the Wild Africa Trek while we are at Disney. I also know that this adventure tour is not offered on the day I had planned to be at Animal Kingdom. AND DH wants to extend our trip one night so that we can party in the MK till 1 am and still crash in luxury at the YC. SO that means that I have some work to do.
work you ask?
Thanks! I usually have no problem with DW transports (sans Iron Man Competition trafficI honestly don't recall the bus taking that long. I remember hearing that but the only time it seemed to take forever was once, coming back from the MK. It seems to me the day we did it for EMH we were on a bus and in the park within 20-30 minutes tops. I'd have to check my TR though but I think we made it to the bus by 7 and were in the park by 7;30 or earlier, I know I took a picture. What order they stop at the other resorts varies by where you are going, or coming back. It seems we were last heading out but also last coming back. Which would be
Swolphin/BC/YC
We did the trek on our girls trip and LOVED LOVED LOVED IT! We started ours right at park opening so got in a little before that, it was perfect.
Budgets are funny funny stretchy things in Disney WorldI so want to do the Wild Africa Trek...but it just isn't in the budget.
Keep us posted on how it all pans out plan wise.
Ooohhhh, Wild Trek AfricaI can't wait to hear what you think of it. I am hoping to do it with Caitlin on our girl's only trip but she is a little scared of the rope bridges. I am afraid I will pay for it and she won't want to walk across them. Since you have a daughter around the same age I look foward to hearing if you think Katie would enjoy it or not.
