30-Day Special Interest Rate

I have read on these boards about a special financing interest rate that is good for 30 days after "initial offer."

When does the 30-day period begin?

My DW and I have decided that we are definitely going to purchase at VWL. I want to call my Vacation Club Guide to get all the paperwork I need to purchase. My only concern is that I am expecting a very large tax refund and want to use that for the downpayment. I need to have that refund before this 30-day window expires and don't want the clock to start clicking too soon.

Getting the initial informational package in the mail will not start the time running (and you can order that material via computer on Disney's web-site). Generally that 30 day rule applies to people who take the tour. For a phone sale, the guide will not send you "all" the paper work (the disclosure statements, contracts, etc., quite voluminous) until you have committed to buy (and after you receive it you will have 15 days to back out).

WE bought by phone, and my guide was very good at keeping me from asking about the special deal until such time as we were ready to act on it, because once they tell you about it (either in person or on the phone), the 30-day clock is ticking.

We also bought by phone. When we first called to get information about DVC sent to us, our guide gave me the current interest rate at the time and sent a sheet giving examples of payments on certain points with thatinterest rate, but when I called back to actually buy and start our paperwork, he told me the new current interest rate and it was much better,by 5 Pts. even! This was within a 4-5 day time period, so the interest rates can certainly change quickly!

How much is the "good" interest rate? I was quoted %10.95 has anyone done better?

When we bought, the 30-day special was 1% less than the rates that were on the rate sheet that was sent to us with our info packet.

Yoba, what the rate is just depends on when you buy as the Disney rates are changed quite often (up or down) as the market changes. I believe it is currently 10.95%.
