30 Day or longer stay at DVC Resort

I really can't see any benefit to such an extended stay besides saving on airfare.

Its hard to explain I guess, and if you've never done such a long vacation at Disney it might be difficult to picture - but you truely feel more immersed in the magic, not less. You won't have that "ok we'll be packaging up again in 5 days" lurking in the back of your mind. You don't end up with that "need to take a vacation after my Disney vacation feeling" - you can actually relax, take your time and enjoy all the little things the resorts and parks have to offer. It is a very different vacation, but a more relaxed one where you can take everything in and really get in to it. Having done both shorter and very long vacations, given the choice, I would now always go for 1 long vacation (3 weeks), rather than 2-3 smaller ones throughout the year. Everyone's different though - but if you haven't tried a long vacation at Disney, give it a go - you might be surprised :)

Being a DVC owner, you know that you will be back each year, so that starts the mind set change. Taking more than one Disney vacation each year is the next step, longer vacations is the third. Pretty soon you will visit the parks less and the resorts and DS more. You stay away from the crowds, start to take the time to appreciate the little Disney things that you never even noticed before. You take the time to get to know the CM's and how Disney works behind the curtain.

Our last few trips have all been for 5 weeks at a time. Typically we'll do about 5-6 nights at. Universal resort, about 1 week in a monorail resort (VGF, BLT or POLY) and then the rest of the time at BWV.

I don't get bored at all. I actually end up feeling like it is normal being at WDW and feels strange when I do get home.

I sleep in most days since we are from the west coast and have a 3 hour time difference, so I normally don't get to a park till noon or later. We end up doing FP, anything with short lines and stuff like parades. Very rarely spend more than 4-6 hours in the park. Will hope around to resorts wandering around, go for walks through Epcot, read a book, go swimming, go to a water park. Basically take things slow and not worry about what we are doing. Very relaxing...oh and shopping, have a family that loves shopping.

So no boredom for me.
It's funny when I tell people that WDW is our most relaxing vacation that we do. They think we're nuts!

Hi has anyone considered a 30-day or longer stay at a DVC resort? Do you think it would become boring? Thinking ahead for retirement, considering a possible 30-day stay, what do others think of this idea? I was thinking of maybe 2 wks at BWV our home resort, maybe a 1 or 2 week stay at OKW or maybe 1 wk OKW and 1 wk SS or BLT. I’m thinking before I buy additional points to accommodate this amount of time at WDW maybe I should rent for at least the first year of retirement. Looking for opinions….

We have stayed 25-30 nights several times. We have never got bored. But I recommend to change resort several times. We stayed at BCV for 3 weeks once and afterwards it felt like we had not done as much as before.

Have fun!

Same here. I find our Disney trips very relaxing, stress free with no worries. Once I get on the bus at the airport I can just kick back and take it easy :)
