3 sisters + 2 worlds=5 days of Orlando fun! An Aug. '10 TR...final thoughts p. 45

Nice update :) Glad you enjoyed Soarin. As for me....that ride is torture :sad2:Belated Merry Christmas! Glad to know we weren't the only ones having a Disney Christmas :goodvibes

Aww, really?! I just love Soarin. :goodvibes

Oh come on....don't leave me hanging!

LOL, I won't leave you hanging for much longer...

Great update! :thumbsup2

You should really try Mission Space someday! It's not scary, like a roller coaster, there is just more of a chance of getting sick, because of the spinning...but the green side has no spinning, try that side first! It's so much fun!

I love Soarin! :woohoo: And Living with the Land! We didn't get to do LWTL on this past trip because the line was always too long, isn't that strange? :rotfl: I mean, it was always just a 10-15 minute wait, but for that, it's too long!

Can't wait to see what old classic you did next!

I know I should suck it up and try MS but it just freaks me out! I think if I did ever do it I'd have to start with the wimp side. LOL.

Wow, that is kind of funny the line was so long for LWTL. I think I've only seen it really long once. It's one of those attractions where you can say you know the park is crowded if it has a wait!

Great update, can't believe this is your final full day at the World:sad2: But then again we all dread that day don't we?

The first time we rode MS was when you didn't have a choice between orange or green....I did it and I get motion sickness all the time, but I was fine! I didn't do it again mind you, I now only do green side and love it. I didn't love the way I felt when I got off with the spinning, I went and grabbed watermelon to eat and that made me feel better right away!

I love Living with the Land, again, it's one of those rides that you can relax and escape the heat for a little while!!

I'm going with Captain EO too:thumbsup2

Ugh, the last full days always stink. I know I definitely dread it. :guilty:

The spinning part kind of worries me. Maybe the green side would be OK. We'll see...

I agree about LWTL. Plus it's always fun to see the plants in the greenhouses.

Doesn't get much better than a morning filled with Mission:Space, Soarin' and Test Track! :thumbsup2

Ok I was going to say Ellen's Energy Adventure as my guess but I'm about 99% sure I'm wrong now since everyone else has said Captain EO lol

LOL, yeah, we've done Ellen before so it's not that. ;)

Great update! Someday I'll get to Epcot early enough to see the CMs in Sunshine Seasons waving, someday!

Hmmm...and old classic that you've never done...it's gotta be EO, I'd think in as many trips as you've done that you've covered everything else in Future World by now!

That is very true, there isn't much we haven't done in all our trips...

The Soarin rope drop:rolleyes: Such a crazy ritual! Love Living with the Land. It always makes me smile!

It is crazy! I'm sure the CMs must think everyone is nuts. I wonder if they hate having to deal with that every day or if they just get used to it.

Gotta love Soarin'. You've got me stumped on what your next attraction is. My first guess was Spaceship Earth, but I figured that you must have ridden that by now.

Yep, we've ridden SSE before so it's not that either.

I can't believe its your last day! :sad1:
Old classic that you've never done? Hmmm I have to say Captain EO too!

I can't believe it's the last day either but it sure has taken me long enough to get there!

I don't know if I'm going to try Mission:Space in February. Maybe with the whole group there, I'll be able to do the green side! The orange side is just NEVER going to happen!

I'm trying to figure out how to deal with the Epcot morning. Normally we get FP for Soarin', ride it once waiting, go on Living with the Land, and then use FP for Soarin' again. That way we won't have to go back to that pavilion. But I want to make sure we get to ride Test Track a bunch of times, and one of those times has to be together so we can fill up the entire car! Haha, Disney people are so smart spreading out those pavilions.

Same, I don't know if I'll ever have the guts to do the orange side. But if I was able to do Forbidden Journey and love it who knows, maybe I'd end up liking MS too.

Well, the one thing about going in February is that it probably won't be as crowded so maybe the lines won't get as crazy that fast. I know you said you want to ride Test Track all together at some point but don't forget about single riders too if you want to ride it more than once. And even when we've done that a lot of times a couple of us have ended up in the same car. So it's not like you're totally alone.

Gotta be Captain EO! I'm curious what you thought about it...if that's it, of course. I don't know if it's something we should try to do when we go back (if it's still there??) or not.

I'm right there with you and love Soarin'! It's just such a unique experience! :goodvibes

A lot of Captain EO guesses! I'll post that update soon...popcorn::

Wow, is it really the last day of 2010 already?! Where did the year go??? Overall it was a pretty good year (can't complain about 2 Disney trips) so hopefully 2011 will be the same. Anybody have any fun plans to ring in the new year? We started a tradition several years ago that we go to our favorite restaurant for dinner but we're pretty boring otherwise.

Oh, and before I get back to the TR I forgot to mention that the other day we finally saw Tangled! It was surprisingly busy considering the movie's been out for over a month now but then again it is winter break and the kids are off from school. The first theater we went to was sold out! So we had to find another theater that had it and even that show was pretty full. I thought it was a really cute movie. We all really liked it...Emma said it was funnier than she thought it would be. I do have to say though, part of the ending kind of surprised me but then again it all went back to one of the first lines of the movie that made me go WHAAAAT?! If you've seen it you might know what I'm talking about...I won't spoil it for those of you who haven't seen it. But it was good. Now I definitely want to meet Rapunzel and Flynn Rider when we go in March, even though I already wanted to before seeing the movie! haha

Alright, now onto the update...

Friday, August 13, 2010 con'td (part 2)

After our boat ride, we headed over to the Imagination Pavilion.

40582_652438511034_20306951_37366567_2359212_n.jpg

So when everyone guessed we'd be seeing Captain EO next, you guys were right! Really stumped ya, didn't I? haha Even though it had been open on one of our first trips, we never saw it since we were pretty little. And since so many people said it was a classic we had to go check it out.

We grabbed our glasses (is that the only 3D movie where they actually call them glasses?!) and got to enjoy the preshow. It was a nice blast from the past where they showed some of the making of the actual movie with Michael Jackson and all the other dancers. Then it was time for the main event. It's sort of a strange story but it was still kind of cool. The one thing that sort of surprised me was that there were some of the 4D effects (like the theater shaking) that I didn't realize they had "back then." :rotfl: I wouldn't say I loved it but I didn't hate it either. But I guess it was fitting to bring it back with all the interest in MJ these days. They had a little cart with Captain EO souvenirs so Emma and I picked up a little something. She got a pin and I got a nice sparkly button.

pin80974

I had to get it for 2 reasons:

1.) It commemorated something we did on our trip.

2.) When we were little, before pins were big, we used to ALWAYS get those big buttons. I remember they used to sell them at the Disney Store too and we'd get ones whenever Disney released a new movie and then we got a few from WDW too. They were only like $1. Granted this one was a little more than a buck but it still reminded me of those early trips.

And since we were still at the Imagination Pavilion we decided to go visit our good friend Figment too. The wait for the ride was nonexistent so we were able to walk right on. Best part of the ride is the ending...I always kind of forget about it and then it's like a little surprise. :)

We had some fun in the gift shop too.
66540_661679362294_20305212_37669289_7849268_n.jpg

I saw this shirt too that I kind of wanted. It made me think of another member on here, onelilspark! hehe :)

66855_661679312394_20305212_37669288_1957109_n.jpg

Maybe I'll have my parents pick it up for me as a birthday present when they go before us...I love Figment!

Since we'd done everything we wanted to in Future World we ended up heading over to World Showcase. One last shot of the Imagination pavilion...

40582_652438516024_20306951_37366568_7895693_n.jpg

And hello, World Showcase!

We did have a Kim Possible pass that we were planning to use. We were supposed to report to Norway but we ended up looping around WS starting at the France side. So it took us a while to finally get over there. But we did enjoy France! Some pictures courtesy of Emma's camera...

We also got to meet Marie, which was a first for me and Emma. Since the line wasn't too long we all got our own picture with her. Here's mine...
40462_1397311705244_1605780003_31174688_8096841_n.jpg

I'm telling you, the past two trips have been great for meeting lots of new characters! :thumbsup2

And what visit to France would be complete without a few snacks from the bakery? You can see my sisters going up ahead while I stopped to take another picture. Pretty!!

66540_661679367284_20305212_37669290_2864433_n.jpg

We got a bunch of stuff to eat including a croissant, a ham and cheese sandwich, and chocolate mousse. It's so hard to pick something from there because everything looks so good. Yummmm.

up next: Continuing our journey around the world

That Figment shirt is adorable!

I liked EO too, it was cheesy, but that's what made it fun!

Happy New Year!!!

great update!! I felt the same way about EO..I walked out say what the...?? I was glad we saw it since it's just a limited time thing!

Hi Sarah! Happy New Year to you! I'm catching up :goodvibes

I think I came out of Captain EO with the same impression you did. I didn't hate it - I love MJ's songs! - but I wasn't a big fan of it.

Isn't Marie so cute? :cutie:

Hey Sarah! I was ridiculously behind, had to go all the way back to your evening on the Boardwalk :sad2: sorry about that!

It sounds like you guys had a really great trip. I'm loving your last day, I think Epcot is becoming more and more my favorite park. I mean it has Soarin' and World Showcase, you can't get much better than that!

Happy New Year!

I missed Captain EO when I was there. Do you know how long they are keeping it? I don't think anyone will miss Honey, I Shrunk the Audience

Can't go wrong with the France bakery! :goodvibes

Happy New Year!

I've never had anything from the bakery in France, but now I think I will have to go there next time...:artist:

I know, isn't it?! Plus it's my favorite color...purple!

It was really cheesy with all the dancing and the crazy little characters. But I'm glad we decided to try it out.

I agree, we probably would've regretted it if we skipped it.

Happy 2011!

Marie was really cute. At first when we got in line we got cut off because her attendant said she had to go drink some milk. I thought that was adorable. LOL!

Nah, don't be sorry. Glad to "see" you again though!

We sure did have a fun trip even if it was really hot and humid. We got to do everything we wanted to, and visting WWOHP was pretty awesome too. :thumbsup2:wizard:

Hey!! That's me :) I feel so special!!

I do love Figment. I suppose that's obvious...

Yup, that's you! Figment is awesome, how could you not love him?!

I missed Captain EO when I was there. Do you know how long they are keeping it? I don't think anyone will miss Honey, I Shrunk the Audience

I'm not quite sure how long exactly they're keeping Captain EO. I know I saw something on twitter though about what's supposedly replacing it. I'll have to go back and see if it said anymore.

Happy New Year!

I've never had anything from the bakery in France, but now I think I will have to go there next time...:artist:

Oh gosh, yes, you have to go to the French bakery. It is SO good!

I'm so far behind!

Sounds like a great day at Epcot so far! I so almost got one of those buttons too! It just screamed of my childhood :rotfl:

Great update!

I couldn't bring myself to do Captain EO on our trip, I kind of wish I did, but I just didn't feel like it when we were there!

I love Figment, but I can't stand what they did to that ride, I wish they would just put the original back! :) I love that shirt! :thumbsup2

Great pics of France, I love Marie!

I love Figment too but I have a hard time going on the new ride...while its better than that weird version that was sans Figment, I just want the old one back! Maybe I'm nostalgic, it was my favorite as a kid...I dunno.

I didn't have time to do EO when I was there...love the button! So retro!

Great shots of France!

Howcool about the Captain EO button. It really does look like something you would have found at Disney in the 80s.

Glad you got to meet Marie. :thumbsup2

Hi Joanna! It was a great day, despite the fact that it was our last day. But we still had fun!

It was one of our must-dos so we knew we had to do it. I'm glad we were able to fit it in.

I agree about the original! The new ones just don't compare.

Believe me, I hear ya on that. The original was awesome. And the orginal ImageWorks. I don't know why they had to go and ruin it. :sad2:

Howcool about the Captain EO button. It really does look like something you would have found at Disney in the 80s.

Glad you got to meet Marie. :thumbsup2

Yeah, that's what I thought was so perfect about it. It represented the attraction so well.

Me too...I love meeting the rarer characters!

Friday, August 13, 2010 cont'd (part 3)

Slowly but surely we continued making our way around World Showcase and over to Norway for our Kim Possible mission! But we did make a few more short stops along the way. We decided to explore the Italy pavilion for a little bit.

66540_661679372274_20305212_37669291_1563999_n.jpg

I found where Via Napoli is. I don't think it was open yet at the time. All I know is I cannot wait to eat there in March!! It sounds soooo good. I love me some pizza. :thumbsup2

A nice shot Emma got looking out towards World Showcase Lagoon.

66540_661679382254_20305212_37669293_837218_n.jpg

We also had some fun looking in the shops, something I can't ever remember doing in Italy. There were some neat things but none of us bought anything.

I don't have any more pictures from the stroll around the world but finally we made it to Norway. I don't really know why but I was really looking forward to this mission. I remember reading a TR a while ago where someone did the Norway mission with their kids and they said how one of the things they had to do was find a cast member at the Maelstrom entrance and say to them, "Vikings are all the rage." After reading that I was like, I want to tell a CM that Vikings are all the rage (even though they really aren't, being a Packers fan...haha). Once we were in Norway, it turned out that I was going to be the only one doing the mission. Claire said that she did it when they were there in January and Emma just had no interest. She ended up going on her own little mini-adventure in China instead. But anyway, I got my Kimmunicator and was set to save the world again! A couple of the spots I had to find on the way:

66540_661679387244_20305212_37669294_1017872_n.jpg

66540_661679392234_20305212_37669295_2403969_n.jpg

64002_661679452114_20305212_37669296_1277330_n.jpg

And yes, I did have to find a Maelstrom CM so I got to say "Vikings are all the rage!". It was pretty important actually, because she handed me something that I needed to use to help save the world.

I have to say it was a fun mission. But then again they're all pretty cool. My goal then for March is to do China and Mexico and then I'll have done all of them! Woo hoo.

Like I said, while I was out saving the world, Emma was exploring China. I don't really know what she did but here's a few pictures from her little adventure:

40462_1397311985251_1605780003_31174695_7139720_n.jpg

Her Chinese Zodiac sign. I think the first sentence explains it all. So that's why she wanted to go out on her own. hahaha

I would like to know where the heck she found these because they are creepy!

40462_1397312185256_1605780003_31174700_3703069_n.jpg

With our adventures done we met up again and headed onto the final pavilion...Mexico! I have to admit that when I was younger I never cared for World Showcase. Now that I'm older I appreciate it a lot more and going into the Mexico pavilion, I think it's probably one of the neatest ones. It's so cool when you go in and it's like a little village/market. Plus the whole lighting is pretty awesome.

40462_1397312225257_1605780003_31174701_7037441_n.jpg

While we were there we decided to go for a quick spin on the Gran Fiesta Tour
64002_661679462094_20305212_37669298_678879_n.jpg

and try on sombreros. We should have bought them.
65803_661679721574_20305212_37669301_2882202_n.jpg

Then we said adios to Mexico and headed back outside.
40755_661679746524_20305212_37669302_2325556_n.jpg

If you read my April TR, you might remember how my dad and I spent a lot of time looking for a lot of the little details that we had read about in the Hidden Magic book. I decided to share one of those fascinating tidbits with my sisters and told them how the Tower of Terror was designed so it matches the architecture of the Morocco pavilion since it's visible from across the lagoon. Emma couldn't believe it. I think I impressed her. So of course she had to get a picture herself.

40462_1397312305259_1605780003_31174703_6215617_n.jpg

And I took a picture of her taking that picture...

A few more parting shots of WS as we made our way back to Future World:

I don't really remember but apparently we stopped at Club Cool on the way out. But my sister had this picture in her facebook album so I guess we did.
40462_1397312425262_1605780003_31174706_3000017_n.jpg

Her comment on facebook? "Club Cool? Or whatever. NEVER try Beverly. You will regret it." Hmm...I guess she didn't like the Beverly.

And so, our trip was winding down but where did we spend our final hours? Stay tuned!

up next: "Have you ever heard of Disney magic?"

Ha ha, I know exactly what you mean about Captain EO. I had all these memories of it when I was a kid and when I saw it again, I was like, what??? The storyline makes no sense but I still think it is pretty fun to watch.

I have never done the Kim Possible mission, so I think that is going to be on my agenda in February.

Hehe.... I think that was my Jan. TR you read about the mission in Norway. We were in mid-drinking our way around the world when we had to tell the CM that Vikings were all the rage. We found it Hilarious - so did the CM :rotfl:

Norway is a fun mission. I agree, I think the missions were a great addition to the WS. 3 times we got FPs for a mission this last trip, but we never made it. Bummer.

How sad you're on your last day. At least you have another trip coming up soon!

great update!!!!

I took us years before we found what Club Cool was!!!

It looked like a fun time around WS..where will you spend your last few hours?!

Great update! Those Kim Possible missions look like fun, I wonder if I could convince my DH to do one on our October trip? popcorn::

I love the Mexico pavillion, it's one of my favorites! It's impossible to get a good picture inside though!

I have read that Hidden Magic book twice now, and I always forget to look for things! I did know the ToT fact, since I'm obsessed with ToT! :rotfl: But there are a lot of things I forget about, especially in MK...I'm going to read it again and take notes to look for things on my next trip!

Can't wait to see what you did next!
