3 sisters + 2 worlds=5 days of Orlando fun! An Aug. '10 TR...final thoughts p. 45

How cool that you got to draw Jiminy. Your pictures came out nicely. I really like the one from this trip with him looking up.

That's too bad that you missed out on Fantasmic. I feel really bad for everyone who must have been there hours in advance to line up only to have it cancelled on them. :sad2:

Thanks Meeko. The one we drew this time was pretty cool since it was so different.

I know. Atleast for us we've seen it before so it wasn't a HUGE deal. But I would've been mad if it was our first trip and we missed out.

That crowd for Fantasmic is NUTS! Oh man, that would have drove me crazy walking through it with a stroller. :headache: Big bummer about not getting to see Fantasmic-but at least you did make it to the AIE!

Did you see it's closing on Feb. 11? They just announced it.

As per the rumors, Pixie Hollow is not getting done and I think one of the Princess meet & greets. Ariel and Beast still are, and supposedly there will be a new Snow White ride too-but they haven't announced it! They scaled back the girly factor, which I appreciate. The ariel pics are really fascinating!

haha, I can't imagine going through that with a stroller. Good thing we don't have anyone in our group who needs a stroller anymore. :rotfl:

I did just see something about Toontown closing but didn't pay a lot of attention to the date. So thanks for the info! Sad to know it'll definitely be closed when we go. :sad2:

While I like the princesses and all, I think it's good they're scaling back some. Really, Disney is not all about the princesses! :confused3

I love your Jiminy pics! I wanted to do the Animation Academy on our trip, but we just kept running out of time! It's definitely on my must do list for my next trip though! :thumbsup2

That line for Fantasmic is crazy...and then after all that it got cancelled? Ugh that's so annoying! I've only seen Fantasmic once and I'd like to see it again but I have no interest in dealing with the line or sitting in the theater an hour before it starts.

I really have to read those Kingdom Keepers books, I went to Borders to look for them once and couldn't find them...and I felt too stupid to ask where they were, so I guess I'll just have to get them online!

haha, we even managed to sneak it in one more time...I'll talk about that once I get to updating our last day.

That's how I am too. I know you have to get there early but I'd rather not have to go and sit in there for an hour and a half.

Oh, really? Did you try the children's section? Because technically they're children's book. hehe But I'm sure Amazon has them for a little bit cheaper than the bookstore.

I have only read the first one, I need to go out and get the other two. I thought the first one was a lot of fun!

YES, definitely read the other two then! And there is a 4th one coming out in April!

Wow! What a Trip Report. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thank you! :)

Haha, of course, you know I'm going to love the Kingdom Keepers reference! How funny (and scary) would it be if we were watching Fantasmic and the things that happened in the book started happening on stage?!?

hehe, I thought of you when they made the announcement since you're the one who kind of got me started on KK. I remember you asking me if I had read them when we met in April!

That crowd for AI is insane! :scared1:

I know what a huge AI fan you are but have you watched that new show "The Sing-off?" I think it is so much better than AI but that's just my opinion. :goodvibes

That was actually the crowd for Fantasmic. I don't know if there'd ever be quite that many people waiting for AI! LOL.

I did watch a little bit of the Sing-Off last week and last night. I thought it was OK but I turned it off after about 5 minutes. I know my sisters keep saying they're not going to watch AI when it starts again in January but I'm ready for that to start! I think it'll be interesting with the new judges (plus they had auditions in Milwaukee so I have to see how that all went down. Hopefully the people don't make us look like morons...:rotfl:).

Hi Sarah!:goodvibes Catching up again.:thumbsup2 (I feel like I say that all the time...there's just not enough hours in the day!)

Anyway, I loved all your pictures of Toontown. I'm so sad that we didn't get a chance to see it one more time when we were there in April.:sad2: I definitely know what you mean about leaving MK...so sad!!:sad1:

Great job on Jiminy Cricket!!Wow! Look at the people on Sunset Blvd.! Sorry the first show of Fantasmic was canceled. Too funny that you thought of Kingdom Keepers. I would have too!!!;)

I'm a little (or a lot :)) late with this but whoaaaa that is one insane crowd for Fantasmic! We've done it once and we did the Fantasmic package which we plan to do again in June. I don't know if I'd be able to handle waiting in line with all those people! :headache:

We love AIE! It is disappointing though when someone who clearly was not the best is the winner. I think every time I've been there it's always like a 16-18 yr old who ends up winning...must be a lot of younger people there!

Hi Angie!!

Thanks for the compliment on my Jiminy drawing. I love that class!! Honestly I wasn't too upset that Fantasmic was cancelled but the amount of people was just nutty. :scared1::scared1:

Yeah, I was getting really annoyed because it was just so crowded. I wonder how many people ended up leaving when they found out. Guess I'll never know though!

Maybe people feel bad if they don't vote for the young ones. LOL. The funny thing is, the kid who won was 14 or something so he's not even old enough to audition for the real show, so what good was the dream ticket then?! :confused3

Merry Christmas everyone (a day late...)!!! :) Hope everybody had a good holiday and you got some nice Disney gifts. hehe It was sort of a Disney Christmas here but then again what else is new? Anyway, I think it's about time to wrap this TR up so here we go with our final full day in Disney. :sad1:

For our last day we decided to visit Epcot since we had only been there once earlier in the week. We still had some of our favorite attractions to do! It was a nice morning...the sun was shining which meant it was going to be HOT!

A view of our building from the bus stop. I'm pretty sure our room was one of the two on the right side, right behind the green box. I can't remember if I mentioned it or not but we could always see the buses pulling in and out from our room.

I don't remember having to wait too long before they started letting people into the park. But as we were waiting I got a quick picture of the Epcot Celebrate today banner. Wonder what, if anything, the new decorations will look like for next year's celebration.

Another wonderful sight at Epcot...gotta love the monorail!

This is not a random picture of the sidewalk. It's hard to see but it's the Mickey confetti they threw when they opened up the park.

Good old Spaceship Earth...

The plan for the morning was that I would go pick up fastpasses for Soarin while Claire and Emma went to go ride Mission:Space. Yep, I'm still too chicken to try it. Though I did just find out that Emma still gets nervous before she rides it. Which doesn't make me want to try it any time soon if SHE still gets a little worried! So, we split up for the time being so I could head over to The Land. We got to see the little opening show and then did the countdown to officially open the park. Then the mad rush began. I walked as quickly as I could so I could get the fastpasses and meet them back at M:S. The good thing about splitting up is that I didn't need to keep track of anyone so I could skip people easily (ok, not skip but you know what I mean...like if you get stuck behind a stroller or someone who's really slow...).

I always love being greeted by the CMs in the pavilion.

Once the fastpass mission was complete I could slow down the pace a little and head back over to the other side of Future World. I knew I'd make it over there before they were done riding anyway so I just tried to soak up the atmosphere. Oh yeah, and load up on the sunscreen...

When I got over to M:S I sat on the benches outside the building. Though that didn't last too long because even in the shade it was pretty toasty so I decided to go wander around the gift shop and the arcade at the exit of the ride. I thought about sending one of those e-postcard videos home but ended up not doing it. Oh well. It was about fifteen minutes or so before they came out. Since we had some time before we could use our fastpasses we snuck in a quick ride on Test Track. Always a good time. :thumbsup2 Then it was back to The Land for Soarin!!! Ahh we all just love it. Such a great ride but I don't think I have to tell anyone that. I don't think I've ever met anyone who doesn't like it. It never disappoints.

Since we were in the building we ended up going on Living with the Land too. Plus, there was hardly any line, as usual.

A few random shots from the greenhouses:

After those two rides it was time to finally try an old classic, something that we had never experienced before...any guesses as to what it was??? Stay tuned...

Nice update :) Glad you enjoyed Soarin. As for me....that ride is torture :sad2:Belated Merry Christmas! Glad to know we weren't the only ones having a Disney Christmas :goodvibes

Great update! :thumbsup2

You should really try Mission Space someday! It's not scary, like a roller coaster, there is just more of a chance of getting sick, because of the spinning...but the green side has no spinning, try that side first! It's so much fun!

I love Soarin! :woohoo: And Living with the Land! We didn't get to do LWTL on this past trip because the line was always too long, isn't that strange? :rotfl: I mean, it was always just a 10-15 minute wait, but for that, it's too long!

Can't wait to see what old classic you did next!

Great update, can't believe this is your final full day at the World:sad2: But then again we all dread that day don't we?

The first time we rode MS was when you didn't have a choice between orange or green....I did it and I get motion sickness all the time, but I was fine! I didn't do it again mind you, I now only do green side and love it. I didn't love the way I felt when I got off with the spinning, I went and grabbed watermelon to eat and that made me feel better right away!

I love Living with the Land, again, it's one of those rides that you can relax and escape the heat for a little while!!

I'm going with Captain EO too:thumbsup2

Doesn't get much better than a morning filled with Mission:Space, Soarin' and Test Track! :thumbsup2

Ok I was going to say Ellen's Energy Adventure as my guess but I'm about 99% sure I'm wrong now since everyone else has said Captain EO lol

Great update! Someday I'll get to Epcot early enough to see the CMs in Sunshine Seasons waving, someday!

Hmmm...and old classic that you've never done...it's gotta be EO, I'd think in as many trips as you've done that you've covered everything else in Future World by now!

The Soarin rope drop:rolleyes: Such a crazy ritual! Love Living with the Land. It always makes me smile!

Gotta love Soarin'. You've got me stumped on what your next attraction is. My first guess was Spaceship Earth, but I figured that you must have ridden that by now.

I can't believe its your last day! :sad1:
Old classic that you've never done? Hmmm I have to say Captain EO too!

I don't know if I'm going to try Mission:Space in February. Maybe with the whole group there, I'll be able to do the green side! The orange side is just NEVER going to happen!

I'm trying to figure out how to deal with the Epcot morning. Normally we get FP for Soarin', ride it once waiting, go on Living with the Land, and then use FP for Soarin' again. That way we won't have to go back to that pavilion. But I want to make sure we get to ride Test Track a bunch of times, and one of those times has to be together so we can fill up the entire car! Haha, Disney people are so smart spreading out those pavilions.

Gotta be Captain EO! I'm curious what you thought about it...if that's it, of course. I don't know if it's something we should try to do when we go back (if it's still there??) or not.

I'm right there with you and love Soarin'! It's just such a unique experience! :goodvibes
