3 sisters + 2 worlds=5 days of Orlando fun! An Aug. '10 TR...final thoughts p. 45

Loved your Boardwalk pictures, isn't it just a great place to at WDW? What do you usually order at ESPN that keeps you wanting to go back there? I may be there for the Packers/Vikings game in two weeks, my food has always been ok, but not memorable. Do you have any suggestions?

I :lovestruc your pictures from the Boardwalk! We absolutely loved staying there! Sounds like a fun ending to a great day! :)

This update gets me so excited for our January trip! We're staying at the Boardwalk! I hope it isn't too cold and we can enjoy some of the outdoor ambience!

Great updates Sarah! Thanks for a good review of the Mears service, we may take advantage of them on a future trip. The rest of your day at IOA seemed to go great! Clever getting on the Forbidden Journey through single riders. I don't know much about Universal. The last time I was there I don't think IOA was even open yet! Yikes! Beautiful pictures of the Boardwalk, the entertainment looks like so much fun and it looks so pretty all lit up at night! :goodvibes

Well that looks like that it was such a nice night!

How cute the little kids were so into the show. Too bad some of them had to leave right before the big finale!

Hmm, I've played Winter Summerland before and didn't get a golf ball! I did get one in June from Fantasia Gardens though.

I fell in love with the Boardwalk when DH & I stayed their on our anniversary this year. Will most definitely stay there again! :thumbsup2

Catching up over the last few updates - GREAT idea for that last ride on FJ! Very smart. :thumbsup2

I love all the pics from WinterSummerland. We've been meaning to do that, but never do. Since we have 15 days in Feb/March mini golf BETTER make the cut this time. That is completely annoying about the group in front of you, they should have let you play through and they go behind you - or even behind the group behind you!

And the BW. :cloud9: Your pictures made me smile. Ahhhh, I LOVE it there! So pretty. And very cool about the sword sallower! We briefly saw a guy balancing things, but didn't stay for the show, I wonder if it was the same guy?

What a nice evening at the Boardwalk. Gotta love the whole place all decked out in lights. I'll have to remember the tip about the pizza window too.

It was a nice way to finish our day. I love the Boardwalk!

looks like another fun day!!!!

The Boardwalk is a fun area :) That cotton candy looked sooooo yummy!

It sure was a fun day!

I know, I just love it there. I can't wait to finally stay there someday.

I love the Boardwalk! It looks even prettier at night, when I was there, it was during the day and it was dead, there were maybe 10 people walking around, so maybe if I go there again, I will go at night! You got great pictures of the whole area! :thumbsup2

There really is a difference in atmosphere during the day vs. at night. I love it either way but at night it just comes alive with all the entertainment. So much fun!

haha, well I usually just order a burger or chicken tenders, so nothing special. We just like to go there. :thumbsup2 We are easy to please. LOL.

Glad you liked the pictures!

When my parents and sister went in January the weather was a little cooler but still really nice. Perfect weather for walking around. Hopefully it'll be like that for you guys!

Glad the info on Mears was helpful. It definitely worked out well for us...we had no issues at all. :thumbsup2 It was fun to go back to IOA, especially to see all the Harry Potter stuff. We loved it!

How cute the little kids were so into the show. Too bad some of them had to leave right before the big finale!

It was a great night!

I know, I loved how they were having so much fun. The kids sometimes crack me up. I loved when the one kid said how you could die when he asked why you shouldn't try swallowing a sword at home. Too cute.

That's strange you didn't get a ball. Maybe they just ran out that day because Dad and I got one in April when we played there too!

It seems like most people really love the Boardwalk! I think it's my mom's favorite resort now.

Yes, my sisters' brilliance really paid off. :thumbsup2 We were really glad to be able to get a second ride on FJ.

haha, yeah, if you don't get to play mini golf in 15 days, I'd like to know what you're doing! I bet Henry would get a kick out of some of the interactive holes.

Glad you enjoyed my Boardwalk pictures. :goodvibes

Boo to the slow people when you went minigolfing! Is there some way that they pace the people? Or do they just let people go when they arrive? I can't imagine what it'd be like if there wre lik, 5 families who showed up at once! I really would worry about the people behind me.

HAHA, I do like Emma's funny stance though!

I'm hoping we get to visit the Boardwalk!!! I love the Boardwalk at Ocean City in Maryland. I have good memories of being there with family and riding a surrey bike. I think I'd like to just go and soak in the atmosphere. Haha, and stop by the bakery ...

Whoa, I can't even imagine what it's supposed to look like when someone swallows a sword!

Wow... i had a ton to catch up on...

Sounds like a great day at WOHP. I have never seen the movies or read the books. I want to try to at least watch the first 3 before we go, so I can know what everyone's been talking about!

It sucks that it was so hot. That's what I remember from our September trip, the humidity was crazy.

Bummer you had slow people ahead of you. Kind of rude they didn't offer to let you play through.

Sounds like you had a great night on the boardwalk. That's one of our favorite spots to just wander around.

We've only ever been to the BW during the day...but your update has me thinking an adults only evening there next summer!!!

I'm late, but I'm coming on board for the ride!

I love all of your pictures of the WWoHP. My brother and I are going there on our trip in February and I'm super excited.

I have to say though, the last time I went to Universal was before WWoHP was even open, and I found that we left very early as well. I like the park, but we seemed to be over it very quickly. However, we're planning two full days there next year, so we'll have to see how that goes.

No, they don't really pace people at all. I suppose if there were a lot of groups waiting you could always switch to the other course.

hehe, I like the one of her digging her ball out of the bushes. :rotfl:

You have to go to the Boardwalk! Oh, I have always wanted to ride a surrey bike but we've never gotten around to it. That's one of the fun things about the Boardwalk, just the atmosphere! I remember in '06 when Dad, Claire, and I went for fall break we went there on our last night (after mini golfing at Fantasia Gardens I think!), got some ice cream, found a bench and people watched. :goodvibes

Hi Joanna!

haha, that's funny you say you've never read any of the books or seen the movies. I am going to the midnight showing Friday morning with some girls I work with and one of them has never read any of the books or seen the movies either. She asked one of the other girls if she was going to be confused. Ummm...probably just a little bit.:scared1: I do think you should try to read atleast one of the books before you go. You'll definitely appreciate everything a lot more if you do.

Yeah, that's the bad thing about going during the summer. The humidity is nuts. I don't know how people who live down there can deal with it for so long!

I know, I think they were more concerned with acting stupid than noticing other people were trying to play too.

We've only ever been to the BW during the day...but your update has me thinking an adults only evening there next summer!!!

Yes! Go at night!

Welcome! Thanks for joining in!

Glad you enjoyed the WWOHP pictures. You guys will have a blast when you go in February. I bet it will be less crowded for you too which will be nice.

When we went to Universal the first time we were staying offsite (it was a last minute trip and couldn't get anything on Disney property) so we did two days at Universal too. The funny thing was, I think we still managed to do something Disney-related on those days too like DTD or mini golfing. We enjoyed US/IOA but it just doesn't have the same appeal to us as Disney. :confused3

My oldest brother Chris had mentioned wanting to take a Universal only trip, and I was like :scared1:. I could not fathom going all the way to Orlando and not see Disney! Sacrilege! :lmao:

LOL, I think I would be the same way. No, I KNOW I would be the same way. There is no way I could go to FL and not go to WDW. :rotfl::scared1:

Hi everyone!! Sorry for the long delay between posts. :sad2: I promise I will eventually finish this (don't I always? :flower3:). Finally onto day 4!

Thursday morning our plan was to visit the MK again. Only this time we would try to do as much of Fantasyland as possible since we didn't make it there on our first day. The bad thing is I don't have a ton of pictures from that morning. It seems like once we've been to a park and I've taken how many pictures, I don't want to take the same picture again! LOL.

We did leave early enough and made it in time to see the opening show again. I never get tired of that, though it seemed a little bit sadder now that we were getting closer to the end of the trip. I know, kind of pathetic since we still had two full days left but you know what I mean. ;)

Here's the only picture I have outside the entrance...

Shortly after we were finally on Main Street.

I always love all the CMs out in the morning greeting guests. So much fun. This lady had a giant Stitch out greeting guests too. hehe

The one exception to my multiple pictures rule seems to be Cinderella Castle. You can never have too many of those! It's just so magical and majestic and I love how it glimmers in the sunlight. :goodvibes

I also just noticed the three guys in that picture...they're all wearing lime green t-shirts. DISers maybe?

Before making our way through Fantasyland I wanted to do Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear again so we were able to quickly do those. Then we took the walkway from Tomorrowland into Fantasyland.

Any guesses as to what our first stop was there? Yep, Winnie the Pooh! Even Pooh had its entrance all covered up and had some construction going on. I am almost positive they moved the tree from the old playground to be part of the new entrance.

A blurry ride picture...

Pooh was fun as usual. It's such a cute little ride and I always like looking for the picture of Mr. Toad handing the deed over to Owl! Have you ever noticed that before?

After our visit to the Hundred Acre Wood, we decided to go for a classic...Dumbo the Flying Elephant! I honestly couldn't remember the last time I rode Dumbo. It's one of those rides that I always say I want to do but we never manage to have enough time for it. So we had to change that, didn't we?

The line wasn't too long and I think it took us maybe 2 cycles before we got to ride. Here's a cool picture Emma took while we were waiting:

She must've taken this while we were waiting to take flight...

And some during-flight pictures:

Hi!!!!

A not-so-lovely view of all the construction. :scared1:

One of my favorite things about Dumbo (and all the flying rides really) is at the end when they put all the elephants up at the same time. I just think it looks cool!

Riding Dumbo was like a little trip down memory lane. I remember riding it when we were little and it's always fun to do just for nostalgia reasons. :goodvibes

So we were off to another good start...where would we head next???

Well, your pics officially give me the WDW blues. I really miss the MK the most.

Ugh, that part out in front of Winnie the Pooh and stuff just seems so HOT during the day with the sun beating down. :headache:

You are absolutely right, you can never have enough castle pictures :goodvibes

Nice update! I love your nostalgic visit to Dumbo :)

Great update, love the pictures. I always look for the Mr. Toad picture on Winnie the Pooh also. I love Winnie the Pooh, but part of me will always miss Mr. Toad. That always gives me an excuse to go to Disneyland!
