3 sisters + 2 worlds=5 days of Orlando fun! An Aug. '10 TR...final thoughts p. 45

I really enjoyed the video. I actually didn't know the "Walkin' Right Down the Middle..." song until I saw that show at Disney for the first time. I guess I missed it since I never had that Sing-Along video as a kid. The Trolley Song ("Clang clang glang went the trolley...") is one of my favorites though, so it's always nice to hear it.

Glad you got to meet Ariel and Eric. I thought it was really a great meet-and-greet.

Great update! I love all of your pics of the citizens of Main St. and the trolley! I saw that for the first time in my life this trip, and I have to say, I almost cried! I've been listening to that song for months on my 4 Parks 1 World CD, but never knew what it was from, so seeing it in person was so amazing! :thumbsup2

Ariel and Eric sound like they would be a fun meet and greet! Ariel's dress is really pretty!:)

I LOVE the Disneyland Fun video! We still have it somewhere...might have to go dig it out now! I actually have "Walkin' Right Down the Middle of Main Street USA" on my iPod, courtesy of Youtube. :goodvibes

I think we might have it somewhere too...that was definitely my favorite sing along. :thumbsup2

I have the whole MK welcome song with Walkin' Right Down the Middle of Main Street USA on my ipod. Love it!

It's so funny how catchy that song is! As soon as I read the title I could hear it playing in my head :rotfl:

Sounds like a fun morning! You can't beat low crowds and meeting new characters :goodvibes

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I know, it really is catchy but so much fun. hehe

Hope you and Caitlin had a nice Thanksgiving!

Love "I'm Walking Right Down the Middle of Main Street USA" :thumbsup2 It's so catchy and always makes me smile when I hear it.

I loved the pictures of your meet! Ariel and Eric are so cute. I'd love to meet them and Tiana & Naveen. And Cinderella's stepsisters too

Have a Happy Thanksgiving girl! :goodvibes

I don't know how many times I've played it on my ipod. LOL. But it does make you smile, especially when you see them performing it on Main Street.

Glad you liked the pictures of our meet! We were really happy to get to meet Ariel/Eric and Tiana/Naveen. Next trip it'll have to be Rapunzel!

Thanks, hope you had a nice Thanksgiving too!

Fun update! i like the pictures with Ariel and Eric. I wonder if she will go back to meeting with her fin once they finish Fantasyland.

Who knows what they'll do. It'd be cool to meet her as a mermaid since we never did. I guess we'll have to see what happens.

I really love those shots of empty lands in MK! It really forces me to look at the details of the buildings. Despite having been to WDW so many times growing up, I know I didn't care about details then, so I'm learning to appreciate it now.

I wonder how many kids have even seen Peter Pan these days! Howard and I watched it a few years ago, and I realized that I don't think I really watched it in its entirety beforehand! I just always knew the story of Peter Pan.

I know peopel are excited that it's called the Peoplemover again, but I actually liked the name TTA because it sounded so nerdy, haha. I don't really remember it being the Peoplemover because I guess when I finally cared to remember the name of the ride, it was always just the TTA. As a kid, I called it the "blue cars."

I wonder if Ariel cares about all of her whoseits and whatsits galore and brought them on land!

I'm the same way. I think most kids though wouldn't really appreciate the details when there's all that fun to be had. haha

We got Peter Pan when it came out on DVD. I just love that movie. It's probably one of my favorite classics.

LOL, see, we always used to call it the People Mover so that must've been what it was called on some of our earlier trips!

When we heard them performing it we were surprised because we had never heard the song outside the sing-along show. Glad you enjoyed the video.

It was a nice meet and greet. Very exciting. :thumbsup2

I'm glad you got to see the show! It really is fun to experience it in person at the parks. :goodvibes

Sarah! I hafta tell you that I started reading your report weeks ago at work and was supposed to come home and subscribe. At work the computers won't let me sign into my DIS account or sub to threads for some reason. Anyway, that obviously never happened! :headache: I feel horrible!

I did read the first couple of days so I'm in for the rest now and will join your March PTR too! Everything sounds great so far :goodvibes

Oh my god, I used to watch the Disneyland Fun video all of the time! That song sure does bring back memories. My favorite part of it was always Zip a Dee Do Dah.

Hey Kristen! Don't feel horrible...glad you found me though and that you're enjoying so far. :)

hahaha, I remember that part! ZIP ZIP ZIP ZIP ZIP! :rotfl: I gotta youtube that right now...

Here it is! Zip A Dee Do Dah!

That's great that you got to see Ariel and Eric...you're so right...that never happens. Love your pictures from the Peoplemover.....great!!

Yup, totally had to watch it. I used to love that video because one of the girls names was Danielle. :lmao: I was always easily amused. Man though, why didn't they keep Roger Rabbit as a character? I miss him....

LOL, nice. Man I loved that video so much.

That's great that you got to see Ariel and Eric...you're so right...that never happens. Love your pictures from the Peoplemover.....great!!

I think Eric is the first prince I've met! OK, no, I take that back, we did meet The Prince from Snow White when we went to MVMCP. But it's so hard to find them!

Wow, I can't believe it's December already! Christmas is right around the corner. And I'm still working on this TR. Time to get moving!

After meeting Ariel and Eric, we headed back toward Liberty Square to do another Disney classic...the Haunted Mansion!

A nice shot my sister took playing with her black and white setting...
40244_652438361334_20306951_37366548_5149436_n.jpg

I don't think we could have waited more than the 13 minutes that was posted. We just kept flying through all the attractions. Not that I'm complaining or anything, haha. When we were done visiting all the ghosts it was time for some lunch. Since we were right in Liberty Square I suggested we go to the Columbia Harbor House. Dad and I ate there for the first time on our April trip. While it's got the typical quick service menu, it's still pretty good. I just think it's funny how we've taken so many trips and we only JUST discovered that place. We always eat at the same places. Once again we all shared what we ordered, chicken nuggets, fries, and apple slices. Ahh Disney food.

There were only a few more things we wanted to do before we said good-bye to the Magic Kingdom for this trip (ahhh it's so sad saying that :sad2:). We ended up back in Fantasyland since my sisters wanted to see Philharmagic. It was nice to enjoy the air conditioning for a while and it was a great show as usual. So fun to see all those characters together in one movie.

When we got out of Philharmagic I could see that the line for the carousel was pretty short so we hopped in line ourselves. I think we only waited one cycle before we got on.

Wee!

Sidenote, I was just reading the last Celebrations magazine and there was a really interesting article about the history of the carousel, both in general and at WDW. Ever wonder why all the horses are white? Well, apparently back in the day everyone tended to grab a white horse first since they're usually associated with heroes, so Disney decided to just have all the horses be white so everyone could be a hero. See, there's a story for everything. Who knew?!

Anyway...after our ride I spotted Peter Pan and Wendy greeting guests so it was time for another character meet! I know we've met Peter Pan before (we got a private meet with him at the end of the Family Magic tour we did years ago) but I don't know if we've ever stopped for Wendy. So to keep with the theme of meeting "rare" characters we decided to go get a picture.

Yay Peter Pan! I like how my sister is trying to copy his pose.

So rather than walking back to Main Street we ended up going to Toontown Fair so we could ride the train. Who can resist riding on the WDW Railroad? We also figured we'd better say our farewells to Toontown since it's probably going to be closed the next time we go. So sad. I still remember the days when it was Mickey's Starland and now it's going to be completely gone.

Last picture by the entrance...

The Barnstormer. OK, even though we were probably way too old for it when Toontown opened I remember going on the Barnstormer.

Minnie's house. So cute.

And Mickey's house.

I'm pretty sure we ended up walking through both of them, but we spotted this adorable picture inside Mickey's house. We all got kind of depressed then. There Mickey was, building his nice little house, and now they're going to knock it down. Emma even made some comment like how can you feel good about yourself after knocking down Mickey's house? LOL! Maybe we are just dorks but isn't it kind of sad?!

So, after our little tours it was time to head out. We hopped on the train and were on our way back to Main Street.

Since we only had one full day left we knew we wouldn't be back to the Magic Kingdom. I hate leaving Disney parks in general but there's something about the MK that makes leaving about 10 times worse. Even though it wasn't the last day of our trip I still almost got misty-eyed. Ugh it's so depressing. BUT...I couldn't get too depressed (yet...) because we still had our whole afternoon/evening ahead of us. Any guesses where we'd be going? I'd "vote" it one of our favorites...

I remember when it was Mickey's Starland....wait....I remember when it was called Mickey's Birthdayland. I think I'm dating myself....

great update!!! It seems like every trip we take, MK is always the last park we are at and I don't know why it ends up like that..maybe because it's usually open the latest?! I wonder where you'll go?? I'll guess EPCOT!

Aww Toontown. I hope they save spots for Mickey & Minnie's houses when they open the new Fantasyland.

I know, I always get teary eyed when I leave MK too. We usually visit MK twice on trips and we spend our last day at WDW there. But we unexpectedly switched it up our last day and went to AK instead. So I didn't even get the MK blues when we left because I thought we'd be coming back two days later, haha.

I can't remember if it was Birthdayland on our first trip or if it had already changed to Starland. I'm pretty sure it was Starland.

Well, we didn't go to Epcot that night...good guess though!

It would be cool if they kept their houses but I don't think they're going to. As cool as the new expansion sounds, not everything in Disney is about princesses. :confused3

Part of me doesn't even like going to the MK on the last day because it's too sad.:rotfl:

You know I love that you met Peter and Wendy;) Also love all of the details in Mickey and Minnie's house. I hope they find somewhere else to put them (like maybe open a new area at DHS.)

I agree, it's so sad to leave MK. :( It's also sad to think Toontown will be gone the next time a lot of us go back.

I love the black and white HM picture! I find it so hard to get a decent picture of HM because it's hidden by that canopy in the front. ;)

The carousel is so cute, I really need to go on that someday...and I love Philharmagic, it's one of the best things in MK! :cool1:

Interesting bit of info about the white horses on the carousel! I haven't read the latest issue yet. Howard brought it over (it's delivered to his house), and I think it's still in the plastic package!

I remember going on the Barnstormer when I was much older too and actually thinking, "Wow, we're pretty high up ... is this really a kiddie coaster?!"

I've never noticed it before in pictures, but there are splotches of the red paint on the floor of Mickey's kitchen that are in the shape of Donald's feet!

Yeah, it's a little sad to be losing Toontown. It's such a cute little area and I love all the details, especially in Mickey and Minnie's houses. I'm hoping whatever finally ends up there will be at least as good. And yes, I remember back when it was Starland and Birthdayland too. The show with the Disney Afternoon characters was a must-see for a few years in my childhood.

Wow, Yay Peter Pan! I like how my sister is trying to copy his pose.

Trying, and failing miserably. I just look like I'm crossing my arms. :confused3

No, we only walked through Mickey's house. We should have gone through Minnie's though. And I don't remember that comment from Emma. LOL!

Awww so sad to take a last stroll through Mickey's Toontown Fair...although I'm definitely excited to see what's going there, I agree with you guys that I would NOT feel good about myself after knocking down Mickey and/or Minnie's house!! :headache:

I hate that last stroll through the MK :guilty: Soooo sad :sad2:

I have a guess where you went next...was it the American Idol Experience?!
