3 sisters + 2 worlds=5 days of Orlando fun! An Aug. '10 TR...final thoughts p. 45

How cool you got to do Dumbo- and with a short wait too. The views from those elephants are so great (well, minus the current constructiion). I wonder how much different the ride will feel once they move its new location. I think I'll miss the views of the Castle and the carousel.

nice update!!!! I love the pics of the construction..what an awesome idea for curious people like me!! I love the castle pics too!

Looks like a great morning so far! My DH will sometimes talk about "the last time we'll ride Dumbo," but I don't ever see that happening. It think it will always be nostalgic for me too.

Before making our way through Fantasyland I wanted to do Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear again so we were able to quickly do those. Then we took the walkway from Tomorrowland into Fantasyland.

Wow! None of those walls were up during my march trip! Things sure are changing!

One of my favorite things about Dumbo (and all the flying rides really) is at the end when they put all the elephants up at the same time. I just think it looks cool!

That is a beautiful shot! The castle looks so white! I love it!

Hi! So I came here because you posted on my PTR and said you had a sisters only trip so of course I am going to check out this TR!

I am at the very beginning right now and am just curious. Did your youngest sister get in to the Disney College program?

Wow! Great pictures of the Boardwalk!! It looks like you had a great evening!:goodvibes

Yay for riding Pooh and Dumbo!! Two of my favorites!!:lovestruc Oh and I agree....you can never take too many castle pics!!:cloud9:

Can't wait to hear how the rest of your morning goes!:)

Well, your pics officially give me the WDW blues. I really miss the MK the most.

Ugh, that part out in front of Winnie the Pooh and stuff just seems so HOT during the day with the sun beating down. :headache:

I know, right? Ahhh it's so depressing knowing that we were supposed to be going so soon. Oh well, only 4 months until the next trip. :rotfl:

You are absolutely right, you can never have enough castle pictures :goodvibes

Nice update! I love your nostalgic visit to Dumbo :)

Thanks Dawn. :)

Great update, love the pictures. I always look for the Mr. Toad picture on Winnie the Pooh also. I love Winnie the Pooh, but part of me will always miss Mr. Toad. That always gives me an excuse to go to Disneyland!

I'm the same way. When we went to Disneyland a couple years ago it was fun to go on Mr. Toad since they still have it there. It's funny because I didn't really care for it when it was at WDW but now that it's gone it's kind of sad. :guilty:

I kind of agree...and aren't they supposed to have two of them so they can get more people on? I'll miss the old version.

nice update!!!! I love the pics of the construction..what an awesome idea for curious people like me!! I love the castle pics too!

It was kind of interesting to see what was going on behind those walls. I know we're all curious as to how everything's going to turn out when it's all done.

Looks like a great morning so far! My DH will sometimes talk about "the last time we'll ride Dumbo," but I don't ever see that happening. It think it will always be nostalgic for me too.

haha, no, that won't ever happen. It's a classic...you have to ride it every so often!

Wow! None of those walls were up during my march trip! Things sure are changing!

LOL, yeah, I'm trying to remember what it was like in April.

Thanks! I love that picture too.

Welcome! You are going to have fun on your trip too!

Sadly, my sister didn't make it into the spring program. :sad2: She is probably going to try again for the fall, so hopefully things will work out better the next time she applies.

Wow! Great pictures of the Boardwalk!! It looks like you had a great evening!:goodvibes

Thanks Angie! It's always fun to go to the Boardwalk. We love it there.

I love Pooh too. You can never get too old for those Fantasyland attractions. :goodvibes

Going back a bit.....

I felt so bad for skipping over your WWOHP posts. You were so excited to get to that part, and then I just skipped right over it. We might might maybe go when we're there in May so I just don't want to spoil anything! I did read your posts up to getting on FJ, though...while listening to Hedwig's Theme! That was the perfect accompaniment! :goodvibes

It was strange seeing the Winter Summerland daytime pictures. We always play at night!

Great Boardwalk pictures! The Carlo show sounds like fun... I didn't know they had things like that going on there!

Where is that picture of Mr. Toad handing the deed over to Owl? I always look for it, but have never seen it!

I'm glad you guys took a spin on Dumbo! The construction may not be pretty, but it's neat to get a glimpse of it!

You have to go to the Boardwalk! Oh, I have always wanted to ride a surrey bike but we've never gotten around to it. That's one of the fun things about the Boardwalk, just the atmosphere! I remember in '06 when Dad, Claire, and I went for fall break we went there on our last night (after mini golfing at Fantasia Gardens I think!), got some ice cream, found a bench and people watched. :goodvibes

Just gotta say that people watching is so much fun! Yesterday Howard and I were at Outback for my mom's birthday dinner. There was a couple sitting within our view, and we had a few giggles making up the conversation we thought they were having! Haha. I really do want to immerse myself in all the environments that Disney has created!

Couldn't agree more...you can never ever ever have too many castle pictures:cloud9: Jasmine and I ride Dumbo every trip....the first trip we took she had just turned 6 and it just takes me back to that trip every time:love:

I really wonder what's going to happen when I go back to Disney in February. You said that you don't take as many pics once you've been to the park already. I'm curious to know what's going to happen since Weird and I took a ton of pics this past trip already! Will we take the same pics again? I'm sure he'll look for new angles and all, but are mine going to look exactly the same? Haha.

How cute! Was that Stitch wearing Mickey overalls?

I think I might want to ride Dumbo this trip before the Fantasyland expansion has those 2 next to each other (if that's still the plan). I also want to see the construction with my own eyes! I think that's definitely something we'll talk about when we're older. I remember riding it when I was younger, and my pink Osh Kosh B'Gosh hat flew off! The CM let my dad run in and get it.

Aww, you skipped over the WWOHP stuff? Boo! But I understand not wanting to spoil everything before you go. I'm usually the opposite though, I like to know SOME stuff beforehand.

I don't know if we've ever played at Winter Summerland at night. I know we've done Fantasia Gardens in the evening.

Yeah, they have all sorts of little shows going on. So much fun! :thumbsup2

The deed picture is in the room with all the pictures, right at the beginning of the ride. If I'm remembering correctly, it's on the lefthand side.

I agree, people watching is so much fun. And it's interesting when you do manage to hear some of their conversations. You can certainly hear some strange comments. LOL!

Aww, that's so sweet! :goodvibes I know we have a picture somewhere from one of our first trips where I'm on Dumbo with my grandma. Gotta love the classics.

I really wonder what's going to happen when I go back to Disney in February. You said that you don't take as many pics once you've been to the park already. haha, see, that's part of my problem. I usually think I take a ton of picture and I usually only get around 200 or so. And then I see people who post on their TRs that they have 2000! :scared1: I already feel like I spend all my time taking pictures so I can't imagine taking that many. I do try to do what Weird does and get different angles/perspectives on things. But it's kind of hard to do when you've been so many times. :rotfl: Or else I am just not creative...

I love your pics of MK! I miss it already. I agree, I can never take enough pics of the castle. That's so cool they have Mr. Toad handing off the deed to Pooh. I didn't get to ride Winnie the Pooh (or Dumbo :() this trip, but next time I do I will definitely be looking out for it! I wish they didn't get rid of that ride.

It is a fun little touch to remember the old attraction. I love how Disney does that. I wish they didn't get rid of Mr. Toad either. In a way I almost prefer Disneyland's Fantasyland because they have SO many more rides (including Mr. Toad). They have Winnie the Pooh too but I think it's in their land called Critter Country. OK now I want to go back to Disneyland...

Hi everyone! I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving and I'm still working on this TR. I'm such a slacker. I think it's taking so long because I'm depressed about not going after Christmas. haha But anyway, time for another update.

Thursday, August 12, 2010 cont'd (part 2)

First of all, I have to say this may not be entirely accurate as far as the order in which we did things since we don't have a ton of pictures, even between the three of us! So I'm just going to do my best from what I remember.

After our ride on Dumbo, we continued making our way through Fantasyland. Here's a random shot Claire got. Where are all the people?!

40217_652438321414_20306951_37366544_7007672_n.jpg

I am pretty sure our next stop was Peter Pan's Flight. We had to get on there before the line got too long. It's amazing how popular that attraction has become in recent years but I guess it's not too surprising since it's another classic. Probably one of my favorites in Fantasyland.

As we continued on we decided to take another spin on Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain. I don't think we had to wait too long for either one.

This is probably one of the most boring TR updates ever, but I don't remember anything too out of the ordinary happening. Our goal was to do the attractions we missed on our first day and do second rides on some of our favorites. I think what we did next was go towards Adventureland because we wanted to meet Ariel and Prince Eric. Unfortunately by the time we got there, they weren't letting anybody else in line but we were told they would be back out later. So we headed back out to Main Street where we saw one of my favorite entertainment acts in WDW. I heard the familiar tune and knew it was some of the citizens of Main Street! :goodvibes

39626_1395508220158_1605780003_31171364_866314_n.jpg

Of course we had to stop and watch. They are so good and the song is so fun and catchy. Whenever I hear "I'm Walking Right Down the Middle of Main Street USA" I always think of the old Disneyland fun sing-along tape we used to watch. Love it. :thumbsup2

I think after a while Emma got bored because she took another castle picture:
39626_1395508260159_1605780003_31171365_6066198_n.jpg

When the show was over we went over to Tomorrowland (we sure did a lot of crisscrossing the park that day, haha...that's what happens when you just sort of go with the flow) to ride the People Mover. And yes, it is officially called the People Mover again!!

40906_661678913194_20305212_37669261_496023_n.jpg

As usual there was hardly anybody there so we were able to walk right on and enjoy the ride. It's always relaxing gliding above Tomorrowland. I still kind of miss the old ride spiel, but oh well.

Some of the views:

40906_661678918184_20305212_37669262_4841992_n.jpg

This picture of Space Mountain reminds me of one of our old home videos from one of our first trips where we're on the People Mover and we see this huge line outside the ride. This was way before I knew about SM so I made some coment like "Look at the line for that thing!" hehe OK, sorry for that bit of randomness. :)

Since it was getting close to the time Ariel and Eric were supposed to be coming back out we ventured back toward Adventureland. When we got to the terrace only a couple other people were in line. Perfect! We had to wait a little bit for them to come out but it was worth it. How often do you get to meet Ariel AND Eric?! We never went to Ariel's Grotto so it was pretty exciting for us.

When it was our turn, Claire decided to go first. She said she wanted to get a picture by herself. They talked for a while and then she got her picture.

40217_652438326404_20306951_37366545_6275115_n.jpg

Then Emma and I went together. Ariel noticed all of Emma's bracelets she was wearing and asked her where she got them. She told her one was from Italy (our mom got it for her from the Italy pavilion at Epcot) and Ariel thought that was cool. hehe I think Eric might've asked Ariel if she had any of those.

And here's our picture.
39771_1395508620168_1605780003_31171370_1514829_n.jpg

Ahhh it was so cool meeting them and they did a great job interacting with everyone like Tiana and Naveen. A CM was even taking a survey at the end asking people how they would rate that character meet. We said it was great. Two more new characters, atleast for us.

So, our morning at the Magic Kindgom was pretty successful, but we still weren't done!

up next: more characters and saying our farewells to Toontown Fair :sad1:

I LOVE the Disneyland Fun video! We still have it somewhere...might have to go dig it out now! I actually have "Walkin' Right Down the Middle of Main Street USA" on my iPod, courtesy of Youtube. :goodvibes

It's so funny how catchy that song is! As soon as I read the title I could hear it playing in my head :rotfl:

Sounds like a fun morning! You can't beat low crowds and meeting new characters :goodvibes

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Love "I'm Walking Right Down the Middle of Main Street USA" :thumbsup2 It's so catchy and always makes me smile when I hear it.

I loved the pictures of your meet! Ariel and Eric are so cute. I'd love to meet them and Tiana & Naveen. And Cinderella's stepsisters too

Have a Happy Thanksgiving girl! :goodvibes

Fun update! i like the pictures with Ariel and Eric. I wonder if she will go back to meeting with her fin once they finish Fantasyland.

I really love those shots of empty lands in MK! It really forces me to look at the details of the buildings. Despite having been to WDW so many times growing up, I know I didn't care about details then, so I'm learning to appreciate it now.

I wonder how many kids have even seen Peter Pan these days! Howard and I watched it a few years ago, and I realized that I don't think I really watched it in its entirety beforehand! I just always knew the story of Peter Pan.

I know peopel are excited that it's called the Peoplemover again, but I actually liked the name TTA because it sounded so nerdy, haha. I don't really remember it being the Peoplemover because I guess when I finally cared to remember the name of the ride, it was always just the TTA. As a kid, I called it the "blue cars."

I wonder if Ariel cares about all of her whoseits and whatsits galore and brought them on land!
