The lack of cash comments really hit home this past week.
With the King fire and other fires burning in California we have had crews in remote areas. Meal breaks usually are grabbing a quick bite at whatever small establishment you can. I have had several staffers stuck without food because either all debit/credit systems were knocked off line by the fire, or the small places in remote areas they were going to are cash only. Sad on a second front because these places really could the business with the area shutdown to outsiders. Fortunately, CalFire will let media eat for free at their fire camps, but I really think responsible adults should be prepared because these fires have been burning for over a week now, and they know that there is a good chance they will be having to pay cash for their lunch.
