Hello My Fellow Food Porn Lovers!!

I have never done a pre dining report but I thought I would give it a stab.

We are headed out on Sept 10th staying at Pop Century!:3dglasses Pop was the first hotel we stayed at 4 years ago with my son on his first trip. Now we are excited to visit the hotel again! Only 31 more days!!!

Here's the cast:

(ME) 35 Mom of a energetic son. Lover of most foods.
(DS) 7 Loves EE so much and has NEVER been afraid of a ride.
(Maw Maw)- My mom who is a picky eater. She normally orders the same thing every time. She never ventures off to try new foods.:sad2:

I'm in! You'll just be leaving for your trip shortly after I come back from mine. You've got some great ADRs - I can't wait to read your reviews to see how you like the restaurants!

I can't wait to eat at Le Cellier. I have heard so much about it I hope it lives up to my expectations. Oh and Starring Rolls! I can't wait to have a cupcake!:goodvibes

Thanks guys for joining in on my trip!!
Here is a hidden mickey for ya. I found it in a group of Wendy's chicken nuggets!

Day 1 Arrival Day!!!:cool1:

After checking in to our hotel we headed over to DTD for some shopping and dinner.

I had eaten at Captain Jacks 4 years ago and it was excellent so I was really excited to see if it was just as good.

I started with the Peel and Eat Shrimp for 2. The waitress was super nice and said just as long as I shared it with my son it would count.

So good! We ate them all. Mom got the Spinach and Artichoke Dip. It was good too but I loved my shrimp.

On to the mains!!!

I chose the Lump Crab cakes. They were excellent. Lots of crab meat and the sauce was perfect.

Since mom doesn't eat seafood at all. She chose the the Roasted chicken. She said it was good and moist. It didn't look like it to me but I was too busy with my Crab cakes.

Dessert we tried the Double Chocolate Cake and Key Lime Pie. Both were excellent.

All in all we love Captain Jacks and it is a great place to eat on the Disney Dining Plan. It was not crowded and we had wonderful service.
PS Rain Forest Cafe was super packed and the wait was crazy:scared1: Glad we chose what we did!

Next we head to Epcot at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall for Breakfast.

I am here! Never ate at Captain Jacks before but it sounds like there is more than seafood options so I must give it a try sometime! :goodvibes

Never been to Captain Jack's before, but I may have to go and try those crab cakes. They look so good!

Day 2: Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at Epcot

We got to Epcot and headed straight to our breakfast. We had to check in outside and then were called to meet Belle before we were seated. This is a half buffet breakfast and the other half they bring to the table. We did not care for the buffet portion at all. It was lots of cold meats and cheeses. The part brought to the table was good. We loved the hashbrown cassrole!!! This breakfast would have been $100 if we were not on the dining plan. I don't think it is worth it but I do know you are paying for seeing the princesses.

On to lunch at Epcot...Le Cellier!!!!!

We headed over to Canada to the famous Le Cellier!! I was so excited to eat here. I have only heard wonderful reviews and it didn't let down!

We started off with the bread basket. So yummy I could really make a meal off of the pretzel bread.

DSC_0069.jpg

Then came the super duper soup!! Cheddar Cheese Soup that is. Again a meal maker in its self. Of course I ate it all!

DSC_0071.jpg

My mom got the tomato stack. It was very light and refreshing. We both loved it.

Here is a pic of inside the restaurant.

DSC_0073.jpg

I chose the New York Strip for my entree. It is without a doubt the best steak I have ever had. It was perfect!

DSC_0076.jpg

My mom went with the burger and fries. It was not cooked all the way thru and she is super picky so I don't even think she took a bite. I tried to get her to send it back but she wouldn't. She ended up eating the fries and the rest of the bread. But here is a pic.

DSC_0078.jpg

I skipped dessert because I ate all the steak and soup. My mom ordered the moose :)

This was the best meal ever! It will always be on my list of ressies in the future. It is not to be missed!!!

Next dinner at Les Chefs De France.....the wild card of my ressies.

Wow, I think that burger looks amazing! I wanted to try Le Cellier for lunch this trip as we have always gone for dinner but the draw of trying it for dinner as a signature was too strong for us and we did that instead. Next trip I am putting it on my lunch list for sure! (Actually maybe both as it was very good for dinner as well!)

Hi! I'm looking forward to reading all of your reviews! Question about the crab cakes. What was the sauce like? Was it spicy and/or mustard based? I <3 crab cakes but do not like spicy food nor do I like mustard. Although I suppose I could ask to leave the drizzle off of the cakes.

Thanks for sharing your reviews/pics. Your son is adorable!!

Can't wait to see the review of Les Chefs!! We leave next week and have a lunch at Le Cellier (thanks for the pics and review - I may get the NY Strip as well) and a dinner a Les Chefs so I can't wait to see your pics and thoughts of it!!

I don't remember it being spicy but it was a mustard base. I am sure they would leave it off for you or even put it on the side. It was a Cajun mustard aioli sauce.

Thanks for the compliment! :goodvibes

And here we go....Dinner at Chefs De France

I started with the French Onion Soup. Oh my goodness!! YUM!!! It had so much cheese on the top! I loved every bite.

DSC_0119.jpg

My son got the puff pastry. Sorry it is blurry. It was ok but we wouldn't order it again.

DSC_0121.jpg

Mom got a salad. No biggie but good.

DSC_0120.jpg

I got the Mac and Cheese. From other pictures I thought this was going to be wonderful. It was ok but I think I was expecting something different. Don't get me wrong it was good but not what I wanted. It was sorta bland. I was guess I was wanting a sharper cheese favor.

DSC_0123.jpg

Mom got the chicken. She always gets chicken and salad! LOL! It was juicy and the different potatoes were great! Some were sweet.

DSC_0122.jpg

My son got the kids fish. This was enought for an adult but he was able to finish it off. He is a fish lover.

DSC_0124.jpg

Now comes the dessert. I got the Puff choux with vanilla ice cream, mom got the Crepe filled with cinnamon, apple, vanilla ice cream and apple caramel sauce and my son got the fresh sorbet (pineapple and strawberry). My puff pastry was just dry thank goodness for the icecream. I loved the crepe it was like apple pie and my son's sorbet was awesome. The waitress said they make it fresh daily. It was soooo good. I will choose it next time.

I'm glad we had dinner here. I would try it again in the future.

Next is Kona Cafe for Breakfast
