3 little boys, 2 new parks to explore & 1 first time onsite & ddp!

Ok, I just had to change the title because so much has changed. For some reason right before I reserved our condo I started thinking about a disney cruise. I have thought about this many times of course but didn't want it to keep us from going to WDW. I was thinking what a bummer it was because in order to do the cruise we first have to get to Florida, which includes a lot more costs, time, etc. Then I thought, " well, we WILL already be there on vacation in Dec." so I started wondering how much more it would cost to just take a few days off the end of our vacation and add a 3 day cruise.

Turns out when I took the cost off from 3 nights at the resort, the food for those days and what we would have done those days, it would cost about $2000 extra. Normally this would have been impossible, BUT, with my hubbies new job it should work out fine! So, of course, I started the planning of adding that to our trip!!!!!!!!!

After I started researching the cruise I bacame worried that the water on the islands wouldn't be warm enough to swim in in December. I didn't want to go on a cruise to the bahamas and not be able to fully enjoy those gorgeous beaches of course. Which means I had a decision to make. Either go on the cruise or see Disney at christmas time. I have been very excited about seeing disney at christmas but the cruise idea thrilled me beyond belief. I decided that if we went in October we could be almost sure that the water would be nice and we could always go to MNSSHP instead of MVMCP. We have never been when it is decorated in it's fall motif either so maybe this would soften the blow and we could save the christmas trip for next time. The boys were thrilled with the idea of seeing the haunted parade and especially the 'zombies' so they didn't mind missing the christmas lights for it.

Now, the only part that is going to be hard is that the boys don't know about the cruise. I was going to just keep the fact that they will see the flying dutchman ship a secret (POTC is their favorite movie) but when I told them we were thinking of adding something really fun to our vacation, to my surprise, they immediately stopped me and told me to keep it a secret. So, that is what we are doing. I think it will be so much fun to surprise them with the cruise but it's going to drive me crazy keeping a lid on it until then.

SOOOO, here is our new official plan:
Leave home on Oct. 15th and begin the drive to Florida. We will stay over night in Georgia on the 15th and arrive in Orlando on the evening of the 16th.

The next morning(the 17th) we will have breakfast with Stitch at Ohana (first character meal ever!) and then go to Animal Kingdom.

On the 18th we will go to Epcot. (our first time here)

Oct. 19th will be b/f at Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends and then Magic Kingdom day.

Oct. 20th we will go to DTD during the morning/afternoon, come back to resort and cookout on the grill and then head to MNSSHP that night

Oct. 21st will be Disney Hollywood Studios day (our first time here)
When we leave DHS we will head to Cape Canaveral, Fl and stay at the Raddison hotel that night. (they shuttle you to the port and let you leave your car parked at their hotel while you're on the cruise)

Oct. 22nd we will board the Disney Wonder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oct. 23rd is Nassau, Bahamas day and hopefully a dolphin encounter excursion!!!!!

Oct. 24th is Castaway Cay day and seeing the Flying Dutchman!!!!

Oct. 25th we arrive back at Port Canaveral and start heading home:sad1: We will stay overnight in Tennessee and arrive home the next night.

Sorry for the long report. It's just that so much has changed so I had a lot to update. For now our cruise is booked and deposit is paid. I hope to finish booking our townhouse today and then I just have to wait 3 months until I can reserve the character meals. I AM SO EXCITED I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO TELL YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: :yay: :cheer2: Hope you will come along in my journey!

Hey Kristen,

Glad to hear from you. Trust me, I know how sad it is. It really is unbelievable how fast they grow up :( My Cole will be 23 months old next Thursday :confused3 what happened to the time?! We have changed his party for the final time. I was tired of trying to piece things together for My Friend's Tigger and Pooh. Wanted to go with Cars but my bff who's little boy was born 2 days after your Cole wanted to do that one also. I decided to find something different then since we ended up doing the same theme last year(didn't plan it that way). I figure Cole will still like Cars next year and with the new movie the stuff will still be out. ANYWAY, we are doing his next favorite thing, dogs. The 'The Dog' bday stuff is really cute. I will post pics of the stuff soon. I'm finishing up on booking our condo today. I am making myself choose one to get it done. Then I can finally relax some. Will post pics of the final choice soon as well. Thanks for saying hi, sorry I rambled but you should know to expect that from me at this point, lol.

Ugh...I have been feeling so sad with Austin turning 1 on the 9th. I switched jobs when he was 6 months and I feel like I've missed out on so much the last 6 months with work. I am thinking long and hard about doing daycare once we move! I look at Jenny who will be 5 and wonder where the time went!

I understand that completely. I did a daycare in my home for 5 years and loved being able to be home with my boys. I continued to do that until the day I had Cole and planned on going back to it after 5 weeks but hubby said I didn't have to so I decided to just be stay at home mommy. It is a good job to have though, it's nice to make money and still be able to be home with your kids. Good luck with it if you decide to do that. Spend as much time as you can with them, before you blink your eye your little man will be turning 2 :(

I'm joining in and those are great changes! I'm interested in hearing about the cruise!

Hi Tracy!

ps-- I forget how to change the above to a name...help!!! Thanks!!:goodvibes

I'm coming over! Sorry but I don't know how to do that. I'm terrible about remembering things and not too tech savy either. Sorry I couldn't help. Things are good. Mailing off money to pay for resort today. Have to go look something up first though...just saw a commercial for disney that said they are giving you the dining plan free if you book a 5 night package..hmmmm. We've never done the dining plan but maybe it's worth looking into. Why do they do this to me:confused3

I got it today! I'll update that on my PTR later.but I think it's only through 10/3, if i'm not mistaken..check it out!! SOOO worth it!!!!:thumbsup2

I did decide to check out the new deal disney has with the free dining but it just isn't going to work for us. First, we are a family of 5 not 4. Plus my stepsister has decided to join us so there is no way we could all fit in one of the hotel rooms at disney.

It just can't beat the deal I am getting of $510 for 5 nights at a 3 bedroom 2 bath condo with your own kitchen and washer/dryer~not to mention an awesome castle playground, great pool with water slide and so much more. I can't wait to get there. It just stinks that with the new changes we won't really have a free day to lounge around the resort. Oh well, I guess those are the sacrificies you have to make to go on a cruise! lol, yeah, I can't complain.

Pics of the condo we chose coming soon. I would post them already but since he hasn't gotten our money order yet he hasn't froze our dates yet. I'm afraid if I put up the pics someone else would love it too and beat me to booking our dates....does that sound too selfish:confused3 I hope not, I just worry about these things because it took me FOREVER to decide on a place.

Hi! Our vacation dates coincide. We are flying down Oct. 16th (our 10 year wedding anniversary), and flying back home Oct. 23rd. We are also planning on doing Epcot on the 18th! We are going to do MNSSHP that night.

We're staying off-site at a rental house. It was just over $1000 for 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and our own pool--not too shabby.

I am so anxious to solidify our itinerary. I am anxiously waiting for Southwest to post their October rates and schedules!

:welcome: Thanks for coming along. That's neat that we will be there the same time. Congrats on your anniversary. It will be my hubby and I's 12th anniversary 2 weeks after we get back. Which resort did u choose? Isn't it so much better than being in a hotel room? I'm not sure if that itenarary is going to stay the same or not. I'm trying to figure out how to squeeze it all in.

Ok, any suggestions would be appreciated. Trying to figure out how to squeeze all the stuff in now that we won't be in disney as long due to the cruise. I am pretty much counting on the boys (and us) really wanting more than 1 day at DHS because we have never been there and there is soooo much we want to do. We are movie people.

I have decided to go ahead and get a 5 day ticket since it's only $12 more for all of us together. I'm doing this so I can throw in another 1/2 day at DHS. My only dilema is where to put it in at.

In order to squeeze it in we will have to make one of our other parks a half day. I am guessing we will want a whole day at Epcot since we have never been there either and think it will be neat to show the boys all the different "countries". I was thinking of making AK a 1/2 day because we have seen it before and all we really want to do there is go to the dinosaur area again, the safari ride and EE. There is always plenty to do at MK so I'm pretty positive we will keep that a whole day. The only reason I would consider cutting it in 1/2 is because we are going to MNSSHP on another day and will get to explore the park again that night. I was thinking of doing MNSSHP another day so we would technically have 2 days at MK but should I just do MNSSHP on our MK day and bring our party stuff in the car?:confused3 If I did that we wouldn't have to cut any other park days in half. Or should I just do AK in 1/2 a day and then do MNSSHP that evening or go to DHS that afternoon. We have our downtown disney day to do one of them also (either the MNSSHP or DHS 1/2 day).

I hope I am making some sense and someone who has been to all parks, one of the special parties or just has better knowledge of all the parks will be able help me out.

Thanks for any input.:flower3:
