3 Grannies, Disney Dancing & Deviltry! Oh, my!!

I guess i'll second Linda if we could try and get a Sanna ressie it would be nice :thumbsup2 by the windows to see the animals :)

I also love Rose and Crown. DHS my pick is for Sci Fi. MK -- FOR SURE have to try BOG! :)
I've never been to via napoli, sounds yummy and great pick :)
Yeah, I'd say yachtsmans would probably be too pricey for a budget trip.
Anyone like Cape May Buffet??? I enjoyed it when we went :)

DOUBLE :cheer2: for the KONA breakfast, I so want to try those macadamia nut pancakes :)

lots of Disney counter service is yummy too -- heck, epcot has some pretty good ones, and DTD/ Wolf gang express was delish as was EOS :goodvibes

I LOVE disney dining :)

I am game for sharing meals too !! I have never eaten at Kona and havewanted to try the breakfast there for years !!Sanaa would be impossible for Christine with her food allergies !! I really want to try the bread service , not to sure about the other things but I believe there is one where you get to pick 2 entrees and a couple sounded okay !! Rose & Crown sounds good too for lunch or dinner . Where is Linda our ADR Queen !!????

I have to share my evening with you!!! My Boss had a fundraiser tonight , her and her husband are planning to build a facility that will offer daytime and evening care for those with disabilities or seniors who need skilled care due to such things as Dementia , the plan is to eventually add bedrooms to offer Respite Care 24 hours a day!!!There is NOTHING like this in the area and it is a HUGE undertaking . Right now they are fundraising to buy the land !!The Facility will be called Indigo Waters ( Dare to Dream). Tonight they had a Basket Auction, with a wonderful meal catered by a family owned and run business , the woman's children are all Intellectually disabled ad thru her loving care have all learnt to run the business . The ingenius methods they have come up with to accurately run the register , take inventory make shopping lists are amazing , but they work for them.Which reminds me of The Differently Abled Convention of the Lutheran Youth Organization. I just LOVED that phrase Differently abled:cloud9::hug:

I was talking to Christine about her food allergies, and she said the chefs are really good at accomodating her in Disney.....i'm sure they could find a way to include her. I think it's so wonderful that Disney really cares about those with Allergies :) it seems they really try to include every one as best as they possibly can.
I think Linda is in Disney right now on her MEGA 5 resort-changes trip!! :faint:
I don't think I could keep all 5 places where I needed to change to straight, :rotfl2:
Hope she checks in if she has time :goodvibes

What a wonderful undertaking! :lovestruc sounds like it will be a wonderful place to stay when it is all finished! Differently-abled - yeah, that's a pretty sweet phrase ::yes:: :lovestruc

:dance3::blush: Good Morning you lovely ladies! I am stopping in to introduce myself -- I've been an active member on the RCer thread now for over 3 years and have made some very dear friends over there... including , but not limited to: Janet, Linda (Grumpy Grandma) , Linda (magic), Christine, Deena (LUVLUVLUV), Jeannette (PAS) -- My name is Marie. and as my dear friends above know, I've had a pretty rough year -- but not as rough as my DH (Allan) who was shot at work while on duty on Feb 26, 2013. :( He lost a finger and shattered his pinky in the ordeal, also got a bullet graze to the leg, but thankfully he's alive and still with me.

My plans where to join my sweet friend Christine and do the DIS Diva trip this year in Disney Land. I had airfare booked and Christine and I where to be roomies, but alas life gets in the way and we weren't able to keep our plans. I fell into a funk becasue I wasn't going to have Christine with me to share in the excitement, also the room and such was going to be too costly 0n my own. so I ended up having to cancel my trip :( I've been in such a funk since....missing Disney like crazy, and my DS 17 (Andrew) isn't able to come on a trip with me right now -- too costly and he's in Grade 12, so I'm not pulling him from school this year. He's joining the military after graduation, so I'm unsure of when we can get back again together -- i've been thinking of January 2015, but that's so far away!

Whew, that's alot of back story in a short time!
now onto why i've jumped into your thread!

My Dear Friend Janet knew how much I was missing Disney and how I could use a little magic in my life about now, and she graciously extended me the invite after consulting with you all to invite me to come and FINALLY meet you in person :) We've only been talking (many of us) for 3 + years, and I would LOVE to join you and spend some time together in our favourite place!! so with your kind acceptance and invitation, I am sooooo excited to say, I am very much trying to make this trip work!! (Thanks SOOOOO MUCH to Linda who owns the timeshare, it is making it so much more cost-effective and possible for me to join you!! ) I am trying to sort out some dates ( ie) should I arrive on the 3rd of DEC so I have a full day on the 4th?? or should I arrive around 1:30 pm on the 4th and save some money (I DO need to keep this very budget friendly as my DH doesn't want me to go overboard on money!! Do I leave early in the morning on the 9th of DEC (9:35 am) which is the cheaper flight option, or do I leave at 2:50 on the 9th? I'm leaning towards 9:30 am..... but would like to share a taxi with others who may be leaving around the same timings on the 9th....so that's something I'm still floating around in my head!

Being a Canadian with a flight credit with West Jet, we don't have the greatest schedules from Edmonton -- and prices are kind of high, so I want to find the best pricing/ and best timing I possibly can!

I am so excited to even be thinking this might all fall into place for me!! I would LOVE to meet our Linda's, Janet, Christine (if you can possibly swing it Christine!!:) ) , jeanette if she can make it, deena and of course Janet! I am so excited to meet our English Rose too!! (My DH is british and was born in Yorkshire England) so I have a soft spot for brits :)

I just wanted to pop in and introduce myself so you know who this wannabe is that's maybe joining the group for some Disney MAGIC :)

:wave2: Marie! Sooo happy it has all worked out for you to us join us!! :woohoo: Do you know what you have gotten yourself into?? :goodvibes

hmm... btw Marie, do you like to POLE Dance??? :rotfl2: Do they do that in Canada?? :teeth: It's going to be a great time!! :cool1::dance3:

Christine, hoping you'll be able to swing it to join us! :flower3:

I will be there 11/29-12/7 and hope to have a dismeet with you too

Cool!! :thumbsup2

Rosie, how wonderful and such a worthy undertaking! Your boss and husband sound like special people who don't let the fact that it's never been done there before stop them from dreaming and achieving their goals... like you Rosie!! "Differently abled" is perfect. :thumbsup2

Quick note. We are at resort 2 .... POR ... so happy to be here ... love it! I booked a standard view but we are first floor with a wonderful quiet pool view. First resort was CBR ... still not so crazy about it .... no shade around the feature pool! Tomorrow we move to CSR.

As for Sanaa I don't think it is a good choice for our trip. Jessica and I have 2 meals booked there this trip!!! Yes it is our favorite!!!!!

Today is a pool day. Time for a little R&R.

Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves and book whatever ADRs you like. I can cancel whatever I have booked .... just tried to take everyones suggestions so we'd have somewhere to eat. We do have BOG booked for Sunday. If you want to cancel that one let me know so they don't charge me. I think that is the only one I have a credit card hold for. BTW Jessica and I had lunch there on Friday and it was really good.

Christine I really hope you can make this trip .... won't be the same without you!!!

Off for some more Mickey fun!

Hi Linda!! :wave2: Happy to see you pop in here!! Have fun! Oh that's great to hear about CS at BOG - really looking forward to trying that one!

A note on ADRs...

I've trying [unsuccessfully] so far for a SCI Fi or PT 50s ADR for dinner on Thursday 12/5 (I will keep trying).

A while back we have also thrown out the possibility of booking the Candlelight Processional and our Magic very graciously made ADRs for the grannie trip entourage! :yay: We have 2 ressies for consideration....both are for lunch, Friday and Saturday and at the same restaurant ... Rose & Crown (sure to please Rosie... (and now Marie). :)

Magic said she prefers the lunchtime seating (less expensive) ...seems like a good plan ... she has the first seating for the performance as well. :thumbsup2 So as we had discussed this before and Magic did make the ressies, wanted to let everyone know. If we do decide to go with CP, suspect we would choose Saturday as the MK is taping the Christmas parade that day and we wanted to avoid that park. Epcot was our tentative park Saturday anyway.

That being said, I'm very happy going with the flow...we need to take an overall view of the ADRs currently booked and make a decision on what to keep and what to cancel. I have no idea what the CP entails.... if it is a set price at each restaurant like the Fantasmic package...if it is expensive, I'm fine with nixing it. I"ll call to find out the dets.

BTW, I do like the France CS. :thumbsup2 (and sunshine seasons)

I'm pretty flexible with food offerings...and do like WPE and EOS at DTD as well.... and of course FTBBQ - that goes without saying! Disney has some great CS choices. I love Disney Dining too!! :)

HI every one :) :goodvibes I am so happy to be on this trip with you all! YES, Janet! POLE dancing is very popular in Canada ;) it's one of their main fitness crazes, didn't ya know, now me..... i'm probably not up to snuff on that
but I am a very good cheer team ::yes::0

Linda, love that you get to go to Sanna twice! sounds delicous...i've never been and it's high up on my really want to try list -- but i'm a follower and all you guys have been throwing out sound wonderful to me! (Except 50's it used to be my very favourite / or one of my favourite's but I really don't know what to eat now that they've gotten rid of the steak dinner off the menu! ) I am still open to it though, so you guys book away!! I truly hope we can get into Rose and Crown, I LOVED it!

I too hope Christine can fenangle a plan to make it down for some fun with us all! I know she has a 3 day PH ticket she'd be needing to use and she mentioned also using a MVMCP ticket as her MK entry so not to waste a day of the 3 day PH -- I'm still up for doing a party one night if you all are! I've Never been to Disney during the holidays and would love to see the Christmas party/ it's also a great way to do MK rides and feel in the holiday spirit i'd expect. :) I enjoy Mickey's parties ::yes:: Just throwing that out to see if it could fit in the plan.

I would love to do the CP too.... I haven't read much about it , so don't really know alot about the restaurants you can choose from for it, but I love the Christmas Story, so I;m sure it's just beautiful! I'm all game for it :)

I'm prettty much game for anything, I'm just blessed beyond all things to even be able to come! and so excited :yay:

Linda, I am so happy to hear you love POR.... that's a big relief to hear it's a lovely resort! Rosie kindly offered me to share her room at POP when we arrive on the 3rd (plane tickets are booked :cool1:) And I booked us into a Royal Room River View on the 4th - POR is a resort I have always been curious about, as much as I LOVE my deluxe stays, I wondered when I could have a chance to see what a MOD offered, and this is the perfect opportunity! I am very excited to try it out. and happy I am not homeless at Disney -- you know how that can stress a ultra-serious planner like us! :goodvibes

Well, my cat was pretty sick last night -- he seems better today, but i had him on a new food from the vet for 2 weeks, it was a dry kibble, and a diet food. HE needs to lose about 4 lbs, he's a bruiser! something upset him last night and i almost had to take him to the emergency clinic, but he pulled through. Thanks to some links Christine sent me, and some research I'd done about cat food and feeding felines, I've come to realize I need to switch him to an all canned -wet diet. He will especially benefit from the higher water-content in canned food, I am sure, especially with his frequent bunged-up problems! so i'm off to do some new food shopping.

I'll check in with you lovely ladies a bit later :goodvibes
Have a wonderful day!

The only one that scares me for Christine is Sanaa? Christine is that a definite No for you!!! As for Linda and her 5 resort changes :scared1::scared1::rotfl2:

What a wonderful undertaking! :lovestruc sounds like it will be a wonderful place to stay when it is all finished! Differently-abled - yeah, that's a pretty sweet phrase ::yes:: :lovestruc

Yes I think it is awesome too!!To my knowledge Niagara Couny has ZERO Respite beds , which is such a shame ! This one would actually be in Erie County but very close to Niagara !!:yay::hug:

I just got very sad news our 17year old cat died tonight. Judy called and said Dave ( her boyfriend ) came over to my house to fix the gutter and found poor Shadow dead inthe driveway. I don;'t know what happened, but he was old so I can take comfort in the fact that he lead a long and happy life .

Oh Christien you are so right!! The girls most likely would be out and I get home after midnight, Oh if I had pulled into the driveway and run over him I would have been sick!!!My eyesight is so bad at night it is highly possible I would have tripped over him :scared1::eek:

 awe, Rosie I am so sorry to hear of your fur babies passing. They are part of the family and give such comfort and love to us -- I am glad you where blessed with 17 years with your furbaby, however I understand the sadness when they have to leave us :( I hope his memory comforts your heart and brings a smile.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
Marie

Exactly what I was thinking, but did not want to say it....do you have tomorrow off? I hope so....you need some time to have a good cry. I am here for you any time.

I am starting to remember the "funnies " in Shadow's life like when as a kitten he climbed into the hood of the stove and somehow got into the dropped ceiling , what a fiasco that was:rotfl2:Or when he napped on the hood of my car and wouldn't move when I started the caR OR EVEN WHEN i STARTED BACKING OUT i WOULD HAVE TO GET OUT AND MOVE HIM:rotfl2:

I'm so sorry Rosie. I know how tough that is, but I am certain he didn't suffer. He probably just had a heart attack and died. There is great comfort in knowing he did have a happy life and he is undoubtedly in cat heaven!
