Sorry I am late with birthday wishes - I am sure they had a wonderful birthday! Cannot believe they are getting so old!! Where does the time go!

Thursday, the 22, is also my Toby's angel day. We decided it would be easier to get through the day not sitting at home....so we celebrated Toby's life by driving to Knoxville to welcome a new member of our family - sweet little 10 year old Maltese "Missy". Photobucket is not cooperating so I will try to make it my avatar - not a great pic but it is difficult to get one of a moving pup!

I suspect she is older than 10 and pretty sure our Vet will find a heart murmur. This precious girl, who also has cataracts, lived in a backyard 24/7 for two years. I feel so blessed to be her mama now.

ThsChristine , they are having their party tonight !!Judy borrowed a 3 room tent and they are all sleeping and partying outside , Judy warned all the neighbors and said please come knock on the door before you call the cops I have a pix of their cake which hopefully I will get uploaded soon. It matched their invitations and is really neat , not your run of the mill cake !!!

Yes they are at Judy's !! Judy is trying to get Kyle to come here to sleep, but I think he is more interested in the Party than a night at Grammies !!!I forgot to share about Kyle earning money for the amusement park !! I had him weed my over run flower beds . He and his friend did an awesome job, all the weeds out of the beds , the stones rearranged , shells on the log planter , and our names on one of the stones . In the many flower pots were WEEDS , just one or two which he insists are flowers So I am very proud of my flower pot weeds and even a maple tree sapling

I am stopping in to introduce myself -- I've been an active member on the RCer thread now for over 3 years and have made some very dear friends over there... including , but not limited to: Janet, Linda (Grumpy Grandma) , Linda (magic), Christine, Deena (LUVLUVLUV), Jeannette (PAS) -- My name is Marie. and as my dear friends above know, I've had a pretty rough year -- but not as rough as my DH (Allan) who was shot at work while on duty on Feb 26, 2013. He lost a finger and shattered his pinky in the ordeal, also got a bullet graze to the leg, but thankfully he's alive and still with me.

My plans where to join my sweet friend Christine and do the DIS Diva trip this year in Disney Land. I had airfare booked and Christine and I where to be roomies, but alas life gets in the way and we weren't able to keep our plans. I fell into a funk becasue I wasn't going to have Christine with me to share in the excitement, also the room and such was going to be too costly 0n my own. so I ended up having to cancel my trip I've been in such a funk since....missing Disney like crazy, and my DS 17 (Andrew) isn't able to come on a trip with me right now -- too costly and he's in Grade 12, so I'm not pulling him from school this year. He's joining the military after graduation, so I'm unsure of when we can get back again together -- i've been thinking of January 2015, but that's so far away!

now onto why i've jumped into your thread!

My Dear Friend Janet knew how much I was missing Disney and how I could use a little magic in my life about now, and she graciously extended me the invite after consulting with you all to invite me to come and FINALLY meet you in person We've only been talking (many of us) for 3 + years, and I would LOVE to join you and spend some time together in our favourite place!! so with your kind acceptance and invitation, I am sooooo excited to say, I am very much trying to make this trip work!! (Thanks SOOOOO MUCH to Linda who owns the timeshare, it is making it so much more cost-effective and possible for me to join you!! ) I am trying to sort out some dates ( ie) should I arrive on the 3rd of DEC so I have a full day on the 4th?? or should I arrive around 1:30 pm on the 4th and save some money (I DO need to keep this very budget friendly as my DH doesn't want me to go overboard on money!! Do I leave early in the morning on the 9th of DEC (9:35 am) which is the cheaper flight option, or do I leave at 2:50 on the 9th? I'm leaning towards 9:30 am..... but would like to share a taxi with others who may be leaving around the same timings on the 9th....so that's something I'm still floating around in my head!

Being a Canadian with a flight credit with West Jet, we don't have the greatest schedules from Edmonton -- and prices are kind of high, so I want to find the best pricing/ and best timing I possibly can!

I am so excited to even be thinking this might all fall into place for me!! I would LOVE to meet our Linda's, Janet, Christine (if you can possibly swing it Christine!! ) , jeanette if she can make it, deena and of course Janet! I am so excited to meet our English Rose too!! (My DH is british and was born in Yorkshire England) so I have a soft spot for brits

I just wanted to pop in and introduce myself so you know who this wannabe is that's maybe joining the group for some Disney MAGIC

I thought for sure I had mentioned the possibility of your joining the Grannie trip...now thinking back maybe I was not clear that it would be 3 or 4 RCers (me, Janet, Linda, possibly Jeannette) and our honorary RC Grannie, Rosie.

Although it is extremely doubtful I will be there, I tag along here since it was originally to be Rosie and me. I get to throw in my 2 cents about plans and pretend I am going too.

Hi again thanks so much for your kind offer! That would be wonderful to share a room for one night, as I am trying to keep this cost efficient and not overspend! I am usually a deluxe resort gal -- always have stayed club level and really enjoy the extra amenities of club level with our family trips, but with me trying to do this trip as cost effectively as I can, I need to be open minded about other places also, what better time to try them than solo?? I would LOVE to try staying at POR on the 4 th if we could get a good rate..... I would love to try the new royal rooms I've also heard that POR has an amazing create your own pasta bar -- sounds like a food court I'd love to try!
I DID cancel my Diva trip ticket today, so I have made the commitment that I am going to try and make this trip with you guys work! I will look more into flights tomorrow and hopefully I can find one to work. I'd be open to staying somewhere new on the 4th ONSITE with you all, hopefully we can find somewhere with so little time to go , I found not much available! Although -- I did find availability, but I have no means to a discount , hoping we can get a discount. Even a BWI Deluxe room or WL deluxe room split between 3 or more might bring it down to a affordable option.

What are you all thinking for the 4th? I would be staying with you at the time share from the 5-9th.....I am thinking the flight I may book (cheapest option for me) departs around 9:30 am on the 9th.
As I mentioned, I'd love to taxi share if its workable.

Janet told me that you would like to do a meal at Rose and Crown.....I LOVED it the one time I ate there! Loved their scotch egg I'm open to any restaurants..... Only one I didn't really like was whispering canyon.....it's gone down horribly in quality over my last 2 times I tried it. I used to LOVE prime time.....it was a favourite of ours until they got rid of the steak from the menu. I haven't tried it since because it didn't appeal to me with the new menu. However I am open to it if you all want it I love Sci Fi in DHS. I don't know if there's a chance we could try Sanna? it's been on my radar and my DH isn't Into curries and Indian food like I am (and he's British!!!!???? LOL) but Sanna looks very yummy to me.....
One last place I have never tried but always wanted to -- yachtmans. I don't know if it would be too pricey or not, but it's a quick hop over from DHS. And Cape May is as well, if you want other thoughts for dinner on a DHS night.
I am so excited to see you all want Kona breakfast! I had it booked for my last trip in Oct 2012 when I stayed at the POLY too, but for some reason, we where always busy and could never make the reservation!!! I've always wanted to try the pineapple macadamia nut pancakes mmmmm they sound Devine!

One last thought, have any of you considered doing the Christmas party!? I've never done it before. I find I don't need a whole lot of time in MK to do what I like there and usually a party allows the time to do everything I want I think the Christmas party sounds magical! I did a pirate and princess party in 2008 and we did MNSSHP last October. We got rained out of the 7 dwarves lineup when we where almost at our turn for the pic that was a bummer!
I find the parties a lot of fun

Thank you sooo much for the welcome and for encouraging the invite Christine! I only wish you - One of the Original stars of this trip -- could make it too!!! It would feel full circle for us - from diva trip cancellation sadness to Granny wannabe (I'm the wannabe, lol) Magical BLISS!

I did LOVE Rose & Crown the 1 time I went , but what I had is not on the menu but they have a lot of other things !!! Scotch Eggs are Yummy , been years since I made them, I do make Yorkshire pudding from time to time I love Sci Fi too , their oreo cookie milkshake and that Outta this world cheesecake are wonderful!!!Yachtsman might be a little to pricey !! Sanaa is one Linda mentioned , I am not a curry person either but their are things I would like to try!!Kona was my request !! I want the Big Kahuana!!!
