3 Generations Wandering the Wilderness from "Cabin" Camping to Club Level-FW & WL

4 HOURS! :faint: people are crazy!!!

You got quite a few rides in. That Speedway, no can do. I took my brother and SiL a few years ago and we went for old times sake. Oh my. Never again!

Cool on the hidden Mickeys. I never see any of those.

Glad the splinter didn't cause too much trouble, it looks like a big one!

The face painting turned out really well and I love those pay phones in the background. Did anyone actually use one?

I'm going to pile on the Speedway complaint bus…I always got one with the disintegrating steering well. I don't know what it is about that ride, but I always get black steering wheel bits on me and feel like a bottle of sanitizer isn't enough after that ride. It's also a very hot queue, even with those little umbrellas that everyone wants to get underneath.

Love the HMs, but not the splinter. How can something so small hurt so much? Good you got it out and all in one piece. Did you use those teeny tiny tweezers from a Swiss Army Knife?

This brings back memories of when our son was young and always wanted to do the Speedway. I really hated it because I always ended up behind someone who couldn't figure out how to make the car go forward. And the gas fumes were bad, too. :faint: But we did it for the kids. :drive:

:rotfl: Isn't that the gospel!!! All in the name of love we endure this!

I must admit that I am very relieved that I don't have to go on this attraction anymore. Our daughter and son-in-law continued the tradition last month by taking their five year old son on the Speedway and we were very happy to wave from the grandstand. ;)

:thumbsup2 Of course you were! It really amazes me that the ride still exist...considering how bad it is  Guess it's kind of an icon.

I am definitely with you on the tomorrowland speedway... I had to tell the boys we just didnt have time to do them last time.. :cool2: I felt kind of bad but geez, those are slow and MK has so many more exciting things!

Come on, mom....take one for the team  We've used that excuse, too....unfortunately it wasn't an option this time.

The kids' faces look pretty cool. I especially love the Mike Wazowski looking one!

Fun for sure! And it lasted all day surprisingly enough.

4 HOURS! :faint: people are crazy!!!

Seriously. I love my kids...but no way.

Well...in another 10 years, you can do it again for ol' times sake

Stephen reminded me that the splinter actually went under his fingernail...which makes it hurt even more :crazy2:

The face painting turned out really well and I love those pay phones in the background. Did anyone actually use one?

:rotfl: Didn't even notice the phones! What would be even better is to have a picture of the phones WITH someone using them!

TRUE!!! They're nasty, and it takes an act of Congress to press the pedals. By the time one's finished....the leg is completely cramped.

No knife....the handy dandy fingernails :thumbsup2

Thanks for the standby photos, really cute. I'd be upset it I waited in a 2 hr queue for it! Way too tame. Even BTM is more exciting. And too short. It is cute though. Our first ride was front car too, which was nice to view & take pics but after we always asked for back row to eek out a little more "thrill" :upsidedow

I agree, those guns on Buzz need some help. The button is so hard to push now, and I have arthritis in my trigger thumb, lol. So sometimes I have to use both thumbs to push it to work.

We like Jungle Cruise too, may not do it every trip, but try to get it in. My fav time to go is after dark. Just looks a little more magical!

I also love Peoplemovet!! Great ride to take a rest on! Sorry it was down while you were there. While waiting for my Space Mtn FP time I rode 3 times, they just let me stay on :goodvibes

We occas do the Speedway, :rolleyes2 if Ashley INsists!! :drive:

Cute face painting! It didn't melt off in the Aug heat?

Hi Heather!

Loving your MK pictures (as usual).

I wish MK Buzz would get the type of guns that Disneyland Buzz has - I still can’t tell which red dot is mine, but at least the gun comes off the vehicle, which makes things a bit easier.

No People Mover???? :(

Love the face-painting!!! Willow always wants it off her face within 5 minutes, so we do NOT do any face-painting anywhere anymore.

Pop got some AWESOME speedway pics!

Awesome Hidden Mickeys! As you know, we are big fans of searching those out. So fun!!!!

Sue....back row for me?? :faint: Are you trying to make me ill??!!! Motion sickness...remember?!!!

We've never done it after dark...but need to try it. And it all depends on your "Captain", too. Sometimes you get a really good one...and then sometimes you get one that is over-the-top cheesy ;)

"Paging Mr. Morrow...Mr. Tom Morrow"..... my all time favorite ride!! ;) And nope...no melting of the face paint. The June heat isn't quite as bad as August (remember Sue...we were there in June....and then August) Have I confused you, yet??

Comes off the vehicle??? Can you inform Disney World, please??? ;) Sounds easier.

Both were dying to get their face painted! That's all they talked about. It was one of the things they were saving money for. Don't blame you for saying NO if it comes off within 5 minutes

Pop got some AWESOME speedway pics!

Awesome Hidden Mickeys! As you know, we are big fans of searching those out. So fun!!!!

Pop was the smart one who volunteered to get pictures....:rolleyes1

I've got to get the Hidden Mickey book for the cruise. Surely they have one, right??? Surely...

Sick with 7DMT :sad2: the tamest ride in the universe  I discovered Bonimine (or however it's spelled) in the U.S. During August Universal trip! Worked wonderes. And non drowsy. Those Universal coasters are wicked.

At WDW I feel queasy and can't do any spin ride, TeaCups, Astro Orbitor, so don't even try those. But it helped with EE & Rock & Roll coasters which I love, and love to ride more then once. :upsidedow.

I know, I know  Ridiculous. The older I get, the worse it gets. And I love a good roller coaster!!! I'm gonna check out your "prescription". At this point, I'm game for anything.

Day 10
A Quick Animal Kingdom Afternoon
Part 1

After a whirlwind tour of the Magic Kingdom, we jumped on the bus to head over to the AK for the afternoon. Stephen, being a true Disney kid, was checking out wait times on the MyDisney App.

Pop snapped a few pictures, but no shock there – it’s a long ride from the MK to AK ::yes::

Don’t let this sweet and innocent face fool you…

Unbeknownst to me, Jesse was fiddling with MY camera…

The reason I was unaware…. I took a short cat nap.

If you’re wondering why we’re showing you pictures of sleeping passengers, let me explain. I’m always up for a practical joke. Unfortunately the practical joke was on ME! :scratchin

While I was snoozing, my dear sweet husband thought it would be funny to tie my shoe strings together. My feet were propped up in what I thought was a perfect spot to stretch my legs. It was actually the perfect spot for Faith to sneak her tiny hands into and knot the laces of my shoes.

When the bus stopped, my family quickly jumped up and left me. Still half asleep, I realized what was going on. Because EVERYONE was off the bus and other anxious guests were waiting to board, I had to hop off as speedily as I could. :crutches:Did I receive strange looks??! You bet!!

Bill did offer a hand ….

Yep…jokes on me!

Moving right along….we finally made it in!

We stopped first to see about Annual Passes…

On the venture in, we encountered DiVine…

Jesse wasn’t interested one bit in getting near her…

Day 10
A Quick Animal Kingdom Afternoon
Part 2

Now that the kids are older, everyone enjoys strolling through some of Animal Kingdom’s fabulous trails.

So ugly they’re almost cute…;)

Beautiful tigers…

The skies were looking quite gray, and then the torrential downpour commenced!! It flooded!!! :scared: Thank goodness we were in a non-crowded area that had a few places to take cover.

The heavy rain didn’t last long at all, but the misty nasty stuff did. Fortunately, we had FPs for the Nemo Musical so we were hoping to get in early and get out of this wet mess!

On our way over to Nemo…. :car:

If you are going to be traveling to Disney during peak season, you may want to consider the FP for this attraction. We were able to get AWESOME seats!! While we did have to sit and wait inside, at least we were able to rest and get out of the rain….and look for Hidden Mickey’s.:thumbsup2

This show was definitely worth the wait!! ::yes::

This isn’t a great shot, but I wanted you to see our fabulous seats!!

Even with the rain, we totally enjoyed our AK afternoon! After Nemo, we headed back to the WL CL lounge to relax and grab a few snacks.

Up next…dinner at Flying Fish!

You must have been really tired if you didn't notice that your shoes were being messed with. ;)

We finally saw Nemo at AK for the first time this year and I was surprised at how good it was. :goodvibes

Looks like those mice were playing while the cat slept:faint:.Was this payback or did you get revenge later? Great close-up of the sleeping tiger…now, who does that remind me of:scratchin. The bats are a favorite of ours and I just love it when they're cooling themselves by flapping and eating watermelon - so cute.

It was nice when you used to get free priority seating for Nemo when you'd eat at select times at Tusker House. I don't think they have that feature any longer since I guess it's FP+ now. It's very well done, but we've only gone once.

Love the DiVine shot and AK family photo - lots of good shots for your Christmas card;)

Catching up on your last few updates. I seriously can't believe the people that would wait 240 minutes to meet the princesses. You are so lucky your kids understand time. We were able to snag FP's last trip but if we hadn't my daughter wouldn't have even known they were there.

Love the face painting. And then being able to be chauffeured by Mike and a princess, very fancy indeed.

Poor you having that just mean, awful trick played on your (silently laughing to myself). Your family certainly likes to have fun.

Love the AK pictures. I agree its a great park to just meander and get lost in.

Can't wait to hear about flying fish. It's one of my perennial favorites.

Inquiring about APs??? Do tell :)

What sneaky tricksters to do that do you on the bus! :rotfl:

I love just wandering around AK and enjoying the animals. Those bats are some of my favorites!

 lucky you realized about the laces & didn't do a face plant!! Love AK, I think it's the best themed park in WDW. They put in so much attention to detail. The trails are great. Love the one near Safari! They had a baby gorilla, Lily, a few years back and it's been fun watching her grow!!

We like Nemo, but Lion King is our fav!! :upsidedow

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

Did our FP bookings for January trip last week! Looking forward to the Royal Rooms! You were in Oak weren't you? That's what I requested.

Hi Heather!

Yes - there is a Hidden Mickey book for DCL. I wonder where mine is….

:rotfl2: The shoe-lace trick!!! I can’t believe they did that to you!

I cannot believe you were able to go into AK and actually walk a trail or two first thing. My child would have been racing full-throttle for EE.

Hi Y'all!

Well, even though Heather and I have been keeping up on the phone, I have been MIA from the disboards. This happens every late fall. I am always swamped with work in October, then November and December comes with the holidays and continued busy time with my work, and I always take my disboards break. It doesn't help that I am obsessed with all things Christmas, so my free time on the internet (what I have), is on pinterest and watching Christmas movies! Needless to say, as Josie and I get caught up on our disboards this morning, I am so excited and happy to read the last installment of Heather's mini trip report with our visit!

It was so bittersweet when we woke up Sunday morning for our Hollywood Studios day. We were all having a blast, just like I knew we would, and we knew the clock was ticking until they had to leave. Caleb and I so appreciated the time they took to drive 4.5 hours each way for our quick visit. Heather and I knew we had to do it so we could stop having to talk about 'my close friend in Michigan/Georgia' that we had secretly never met in person! People just don't get it, except all of you! Our day was perfect, so much fun (and HOT, like skin melting hot!).

After we walked them out and they left Caleb and I took a break back at the resort, he slept and I walked around AKL and took pictures. I was seriously sad and depressed, I hated that Heather and Stephen had to leave and was missing them terribly. The fact that Caleb and I had several more days in our favorite place was the only thing that perked me back up.

It was a special dismeet, not only did I get to meet my dear friend, but our boys became friends too and we put the official 'meeting in person' friend requirement to rest! I am certain we will meet again at WDW and likely our homes over the years to come. We are both grateful to God for bringing us together through the disboards, so cool! I plan to be a granny running around the World with Heather, of course we will wear matching Disney t shirts!

Now, onto the rest of the fun with this awesome family....thanks for letting us join in for part of the TR Heather!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
Erin
