3 Generations! 2 Resorts! 10 Days! DxDp! 3000 Pictures! - Saying Good-Bye!

WOW! V&A's just sounds amazing. Of course, I figured it would be. But, still! And not only does the food sound wonderful but the service seems like it was exceptional. I can't wait to hear about the rest of your meal. Hopefully, one day, I'll get in there for a meal.

Faith is like the way my youngest DS :littleangel: was, daredevil , thrill seeker. TOT was one of his favorites too, not me I rode it once out of stupidity when it first opened, rode it a second time because of a dare and there will not ever be a third time....no way.

The Neverland club really looks great, almost makes me want to have small kids again so I could drop them off there. :rotfl:

V&A looks very nice, but it is something that I would never do. I know I would be uncomfortable and surely being nervous knock over a glass of something or other

Yay for V&A!!!! I love reading about that place and dreaming of the day I can try it myself. :goodvibes

Loving the pics and hearing about your experience.

:thumbsup2 Isn't it great!? I'm already waiting for the day that we can return...definitely an experience. DS10 said he wants to go:laughing: We told him in a couple of years...I'm kinda interested in trying the Chef's Table...just not sure that it's worth the money. I'll have to do some more investigating;)[/QUOTE]

I hope Chefs Table works out for you - I generally have a difficult time getting my DH to dress up in Disney, and I love the atmosphere in the Dining Room so much - although I understand the Chef's Table is quite enjoyable.

Heather, your V&A pictures and descriptions are wonderful! I can't wait to experience this myself in Nov. It will be my first 5-diamond dining experience as well.

The food looks amazing, the atmosphere sublime, and all 4 of you look wonderful. (And I love your dress.) Can you put multiple pictures on that Christmas card? Both of your photos are really nice.

My brother's best friend and his wife are servers at V&A's... They are Jack and Sherry!!! :goodvibes

:rolleyes1 http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2010/...-food-and-wine-festival-party-for-the-senses/

My family did V&A's back in 1998. I was 13 and my brother was 10 (this was before their rule against kids.) It was for Father's Day. I can't wait to go back when I can actually appreciate it!

Did y'all really??!! I think the age limit for kids is still like 10...but don't quote me on that;) Thanks for the link!:thumbsup2 Guess I'll have to add this to my list, too!

So...next trip...drop Reid off at the Neverland Club and venture on down to Vickie & Als:laughing: It will be a wonderful kid free evening!

:lmao:Faith is something and will do anything once...heaven help us:rolleyes: This could be a problem in years to come:laughing: Ya know, Shelia...when we first got to V&As, I was worried about knocking something over, too! How embarrassing would that be?! I would have died!

Thanks! Maybe you can take DD there when she's old enough;)

We would be completely happy to just go back to the Main Dining Room without a doubt. When I think about paying $400 plus for one person at the Chef's Table, it kinda makes me go  But they say this is the experience of all dining experiences. Who knows?!....one day, right!

Welcome! Thanks so much for the compliment! Guess we could do multiple pictures on the card...have never thought about that:confused3 I'll have to play around with it on Shutterfly and see how that works.

Y'all will have such a marvelous time...I know you are looking forward to the experience...and that's just what it is! I would venture to say that you will certainly want to go back;) There wasn't one thing that I didn't like...seriously!

You're kidding! Now that would have been something if they had been our servers:laughing: Do you know if they actually work as a pair while serving?

I was going to comment about the small portions, but then I realized that you were only on your third course when you were halfway through:lmao: You definetely do not want large portions for a meal like that!

Wow! Everything looks great! I was lucky enough to get the Chef's table for this upcoming trip in Oct, so I will fill you in. :). I am excited to try it but also a little concerned as I wouldn't say I am an especially adventurous eater. But i figure that this will be my opportunity to branch out! I love all the various cooking competition shows and am also looking forward to watching the kitchen action!

Oh, I have always wanted to try the V&A's. My DH and I are coming up on our 5 year wedding anniversary and I keep telling him we should do a weekend trip with dinner at V&A's! He isn't listening though (and honestly, it really isn't in the budget, but a girl can dream though!)!

I can't wait to read about the rest of the meal!!

Great update!! V&A's looks beautiful! I would feel so out of place there, though! It seems like a very lovely restaurant, and I'm glad you're enjoying your meal! :thumbsup2

WOW! Kaffinito did a review from her solo trip too... Looks amazing, I have never been to a place like V & A. Incredible! You looked great that night Heather! Hope your first back to work day was uneventful today!

Yes, they do serve together. & jack is also a graduate of the Culinary Institute so when he talks.. he knows what he's talking about... :thumbsup2

:rotfl: Nope...small portions are good with 6 courses.

REALLY?!! Ok...I'm all ears! I'll be waiting for a complete update, Christine:laughing: How many people do you have in your party? We asked our server a few questions about it...of course they said it was the best!! I bet you'll love what they prepare. That's exciting to say the least! Another question...did you call 180 days out?

Hi there & :welcome: Don't feel bad...my DH ignores me, too, when I start talking about more trips to Disney:laughing:...I know he hears me...selective hearing, I guess.

Emma, please! You wouldn't be out of place...seriously! Honestly, no one in there pays any attention to anybody else...they are all too busy eating and enjoying the food:laughing:...and making sure they are using the correct utensil at the correct time (that would have been me:laughing:)

WOW! Kaffinito did a review from her solo trip too... Looks amazing, I have never been to a place like V & A. Incredible! You looked great that night Heather! Hope your first back to work day was uneventful today!

Thanks PrincessPas;)...I read Kaffinitos TR before we went...and she gave me a couple of quick tips, too.

School was uneventful...kinda glad to be back and see my friends, but missed the RC chatter today:sad2: I did see KOOKS pictures!!!! Holy cow! That's what you call Pixie Dust!!

Yes, they do serve together. & jack is also a graduate of the Culinary Institute so when he talks.. he knows what he's talking about... :thumbsup2

Wow! That's awesome! We were all wondering how the wait staff was so astute on food and wine.

Victoria & Albert’s
Part 2

As the evening progressed, so did our anticipation! How could this get any better??? The harpist played beautiful music throughout the night...it completely added to the entire atmosphere. Notice the coffee pots on the table…I was super interested in these.

Fourth Course

Five choices were given with this course, 2 of which cost extra…the Kobe Beef $35 & the Wagyu Strip Loin $80

Kurobuta Pork Tenderloin and Belly with Verjus-Bacon Vinaigrette paired with a Shiraz

Niman Ranch Lamb with Candied Fingerling Potatoes and English Peas paired with a Mendoza

Australian Kobe Beef Tenderloin with smoked Garlic-Potato Purée paired with a Cabernet Sauvignon

DSC_4193.jpg

As you’ve seen, the dishes that are prepared are a culinary masterpiece. Each entrée is not only mouthwatering, but it’s precisely plated….food should be appealing to the eye, and the chefs at Victoria and Albert’s have succeeded in making this happen.

Fifth Course

Two choices were given…

Colston Bassett Stilton, 24-Month Parmigiano-Reggiano, Comte Saint Antoine, and Flagship Reserve Truckle Cheddar paired with a Port.

White Chocolate Gelato with Tableside Shavings and Micro Orchids paired with a Moscato D’Asti.

The servers and maître d’ don’t miss a beat…when a lady gets up from her seat, someone is there to pick up the napkin and bring a fresh one when she returns. After we returned from the ladies’ room, there was someone there to seat us once again. This happened with both my mom and me….I tried to glance around and see if they literally had someone watching for this sort of thing, but it didn’t appear that they did.

And if you’re curious as to what the restrooms looked like….here ya go! Can you believe my mom got pictures of the restroom??!!

DSC02398.jpg

Inside the actual restroom were separated rooms for each toilet area…they were not exquisitely decorated as you may think…very simple but elegant.

DSC02395.jpg

Even the décor outside the restroom area was simply decorated but very tasteful.

DSC02399.jpg

This was one of our waiters, Chris. I can’t say enough about him…very poised, extremely mannerly and full of culinary knowledge. We were very surprised when he told us that this was his first week at V&As…they trained him well!:thumbsup2

Sixth Course

It was finally time for our final course…the dessert and coffee. This was probably the hardest choice for me because of the tempting descriptions Terry gave us…6 of them! I was also excited about the coffee…these very unusual coffee pots peeked my interest from the time we arrived…now I was actually going to see one in action.

DSC_4198.jpg

DSC_4195.jpg

I think this is a vacuum coffee maker, but don’t take my word for it…this is how it works… It is actually 2 glass globes, one set into another, with a filter (usually a cloth filter). The bottom glass globe is suspended over a heat source. This set up looks more like a high school experiment than a coffee making device, but it does make a good cup of coffee. I was completely amazed!

After all of our courses were complete, they brought out several pieces of chocolate…as if I could put another bite in my mouth! Then, they presented my mom and I each a long stemmed red rose. Each couple was also given a loaf of date bread to take back to the resort.

On our way out, we struck up a conversation with the Maître d’, Israel. He was such a delight to talk with, and so very kind. Long story short, we told him that we would be returning to the GF for dinner at Citricos. He kindly walked us out to the Citricos Hostess and told her to please try and reserve a specific table for us by the window….very polite of him.

Victoria and Albert’s was most definitely the highlight of my entire trip. Even though we were there for 3 ½ hours, it was thoroughly enjoyable…never did we feel rushed or hurried. The food was never delivered too slowly or too quickly….timing was impeccable. Everything…and I mean EVERYTHING…was perfect....especially my dinner date...my DH:hug:

If you are a finicky eater, then this might not be the place for you…the menu is selective and changes daily. However you don’t have to be a hugely adventurous type of eater to enjoy this restaurant…just be willing to try something out of the ordinary. If you are a vegetarian…have no fear. When they presented our menus, they presented a Vegetarian one, also.

I can’t say enough about this dining experience….would we venture out and do this again?? Absolutely 100%! Even though it’s more costly than the basic dining at WDW, it’s well worth the price. Perhaps one day we will try the Chef’s Table…just not sure if I could eat 10 courses:confused3....until then, we’ll have to rely on the memories of V&As Main Dining Room.

Up next….Early Morning Photos of the CR….

V&A's sounds absolutely perfect! What a wonderful adults night out y'all were able to have. Think I will definitely have to check it out one day for Ed & I. Seems like it's definitely worth it! The chef's table does sound cool....although I'm with you, I don't know if I could handle 10 courses! And I like to eat! :lmao:

You know I'm already planning it!!! :lmao:

Well...if my calculations are correct...your DD is 4...I guess you have around 6 years to get your plans worked out!:rotfl2: 10s the magic age...get going!

V & As sounds amazing! Thanks for the getting the sneaky pics. The food looked absolutely beautiful!

I've been meaning to ask you.....what photo editing program do you use for your pictures? I love what you've done to them!

And BTW....I finally made my way over to the Resort Changers thread tonight & joined in!
