Day 7

Usually, we arrive at ADRs a bit early just so we can get our names on the waiting list and guess what?! There was some kind of waiting list! Apparently when it started raining, people decided to take cover at H&V and 50s tons of people trying to get seats. The hostess was telling people that no more walk-ups would be taken at this time.
No big deal we were not in any hurry at all. The only time Im in a hurry at WDW is Rope Drop remember I told you that I lose all sense of sanity!

The last few times weve eaten here were wonderful, so I was anxious to see if it still had the same Magic. It appeared to be super busy was wondering if this was gonna have ill effects on the experience. However, we didnt let that bother us.

Stephen has always liked this place and always asks 150 questions about the 50s era. He loves history, so this restaurant is perfect for him. The funny thing about this place even though weve been here several times, I still feel like Im being transported back in time. EVERY aspect of the restaurant is from the 50s even the way the wait staff talks to you and each other.
So be warned!....if you are NOT into the whole role playing thing dont try this restaurant! If youre going to get the most out of the experience, you have to follow along and immerse yourself .it actually becomes quite funny!

Well the wait wasnt as bad as I thought it would be! We were finally seated, and needless to say were hungry!

Again the atmosphere is just too cute! The wait staff walks around being loud yelling at people with their elbows on the table telling adults to eat their veggies or no dessert! DS10 thinks its the funniest thing ever!! There was this one guy on his cell phone at the table, and the waitress told him to put his toys away no playing during dinner! Im not sure he thought it was funny, but I died laughing!

Our waitress was a little on the slow side, but nothing that I would complain about the place was a madhouse with people Im sure she was swamped. She finally came by, threw our napkins and silverware on the table and said, ok kids (shes talking to all of us) set the table! then she walked off. All part of the whole experience.
Appetizers
Remember that when ordering this its for two lots of them .and very tasty in a greasy, fattening kind of way! Notice Faith's little hand going for an onion ring....she loved them!

Served with succotash, chili sauce and crispy onions ..ummmmm good!!!!

Lump Blue Crab, Bay Scallops, and Shrimp tossed in Citrus Vinaigrette served on seasonal Greens .another good one!!!

So are you hungry, yet!??!
Main Course
Creamy mixture of chicken, mushrooms, carrots, celery, peas, and onions topped with a flaky pastry. I always get the fried chicken, but decided to try something different and glad I did! Very yummy!!!!...especially the crust.

A blend of beef and pork topped with tomato glaze, served with mashed potatoes, and green beans DH had this .he said that it wasnt as good as mine. Last year he had the chicken pot pie and liked it better. He said it was a little on the dry side.

Crispy-fried Chicken, Fork Tender Pot Roast, and Traditional Meatloaf with all the fixings .the fried chicken is ALWAYS good! Ya cant go wrong here.

Slow-cooked until fork tender served with mashed potatoes, carrots, celery and onions .the picture doesnt look great, but it was good.

The basic stuff for kids .

Dessert .well .the only thing we ordered, besides Jesses Sundae, were milkshakes. And let me tell ya ..they are to die for good! Last year DH tried the PB&J shake and it was a hit .this year I think we ordered 3 to go!!! I know that it doesnt sound good, but they are delicious! Save room for one of these!

So will we return?? Are you kidding me?!....of course without a doubt YES!

Up next ..DHS afternoon then Victoria and Alberts!
