3 day getaway...I'm going to Disney World! COMPLETED!

Those pics are great! So glad you got her to go on SplMtn!! My favorite ride! I love the MK at night, I cant wait!

Yea after getting off Splash she said it wasnt that bad. So I'm sure she will go on that again...but as for space mt. I dont think she will ever forgive us for putting her on that one! :lmao:

Hey for some reason, none of the pictures on here are showing. :confused3

Hmm there working on my computer. Are they still not working when you read this? Anyone else having that problem?

I just love those Pop waffles too! I had one when we stayed there on our Disneymoon and I covered it in strwberries & whipped cream! So yummy!!!

I've never gotten to see the entire High School Musical show. I always seem to just catch the end of it! I am obsessed with HSM! I had my own wildcat party last night for the premiere! I must see the new HSM 2 show when they start that at the Studios! :cheer2:

MMMM that sounds good. I didnt see a place where you could add strawberries. I will have to look for that in October.

I'm obsessed with HSM too! I just bought the soundtrack yesterday and watched the movie again last night. Any word when they are starting the new show at the studios?

The HSM Pep Rally sounds fun. I only got to see the tail end of it when I was at MGM.

Definatly check it out if you have time. I caught it totally by luck. I usually dont use the times guide when in the park because when I'm solo I tend to move a lot faster than when I'm with someone. So I end up planning my time around the area of the show and wasting a lot of time. Unless its something that I'm dying to see then I will check the times guide. I hope that just made sense. lol

Great update!

I have never thought I could do Disney solo, but from the sound of your report of your last day, it sounds doable and enjoyable!

So what was the loud noise?!?

I never thought I would do it solo either. I was really nervous when I booked my first trip and thought I wouldnt be able to do the table service dinners, see characters etc. because I would look funny. But I love traveling solo now! It doesn't bother me being alone and I figure if someone looks at me funny I wont ever have to see them again so It doesnt bother me. You should try to go sometime even if its for a day while your family goes off somewhere else. Its great!

Just caught up with ya, Tink! Still loving your TR! :goodvibes

I have heard about this key numerous times but have never gone to look for myself! I'll definitely have to try to find it next trip.

AHHH! A cliffhanger! Way to leave us hanging! :lmao:

Although I will venture a guess......did you perhaps encounter some streetmosphere? ;)

I heard about the Key here as well and I knew I wanted to see it for myself! I love all the detail Disney puts into EVERYTHING! I'm usually not very observant but at Disney I take the time to slow down and really look because I don't want to miss anything.

Hmmmm I guess you will have to see if you are right....

I'm in a posting mood so I'm working on the next update now!!

So ding ding ding we have a winner...Disneymusicgirl was right it was streetmosphere!

Now this was another thing I have never seen. These two were so funny and I couldnt believe how much they got into character. There was Babs in the green and I wish I could remember the other womans name. Shes a "big movie star" and she was actually the star who helped open the park.

The movie star was showing Babs how to walk the red carpet and she just couldnt get it. So with a few lessons from other viewers she finally got it.

I asked them for their pictures and they obliged saying "anything for our adoring fans" they were just so funny!

After the show I was getting really hungry and hot so I decided to head back to Pop and grab some lunch.
I had the whole bus to myself...
3daygetaway707274.jpg

After lunch I headed out to the pool to relax since I had a couple hours to kill before ME would be picking me up.

I actually fell asleep basking in the sun. I was woken up with the lifeguards getting everyone out of the pool. A storm was coming and it was going to be a bad one.

Up next: the worst storm Ive ever seen and "I will never make it home at this rate"

:scared1: So glad you finally experienced streetmosphere, it's one of my fave things about MGM and I feel that it's not to be missed! :goodvibes

Ooh a storm, this should be good!

You and your cliff-hangers, you certainly know how to keep us going, don't you? :lmao:

Our first day at Pop-Century during our Disneymoon is when Tropical Storm Alberto hit! :scared: It was no fun at all and we got trapped at the food court for quite awhile!

We saw the girl in the green dress at MGM every time we went there!

I thought she was great! I will definatly be looking for her in October.

great job so far, whats next?????????;)

I guess you will have to read the next instalment to find out ;)

Yay I was right!!! :cool1:

heres your prize....a banana dance just for you! I loved the streetmoshpere I will definatly be looking for it again in October!

Haha I love cliff-hangers! I have to make you want to keep reading. :goodvibes

Eh that doesnt sound good at all. Hopefully it didn't linger and the storm didnt cause too much trouble for your Disneymoon.

So since everyone had to clear out I decided to head into the food court grab a piece of their chocolate cake  and people watch.

After eating my cake and looking at the time I realized I had one more hour untill the ME bus would be picking me up for my long sad ride to the airport. I wanted to grab my luggage and sit at the bus stop and watch the storm. And what a storm it was! I have never in my life seen lightning like I saw that day! It sounded like it actually hit something near by! It didn't start raining yet at this time it was just a light and thunder storm. I tried to catch the lightning with my camera but no such luck.

It doesnt look bad in those pictures but trust me it was intense!

Anyway so at 5:45 my bus had come and I gave my luggage and ticket to the driver and about 2 minutes later it started to downpour. And I mean DOWNPOUR. It was kind of sad actually...kinda like the Disney gods were crying since I was leaving. :guilty:  It wasn't an offical ME bus but rather a plan old boring Mears bus. So that meant no goodbye movie, which is a good thing in a way because everytime I see it I cry. Me + tearing up= no good!

After what seemed like forever we arrived at MCO and it was still storming out. I grabbed my suitcase, gave the driver a tip and headed in to check in for my flight. I almost died when I saw the line...it seriously must of stretched all the way to China...ok maybe not that far but it was long. Now anytime I have to be somewhere at a specific time I get nervous. So I'm early for everything! For some reason I was getting worried that I would miss my flight. Oh and I forgot to mention that there were only 2 check in terminals for this long line. :headache: maybe thats why I was stressing. One of the Southwest workers finally looked up at the line and called for backup and soon there were about 7 check in terminals. Phew....No more stressing!

It took me about 35 minutes to check in and I soon rushed over to clear security. Nothing too exciting here...shoes and backpack off...through the metal dector....shoes and backpack back on. I headed to the MCO monorail for my last ride of the trip. I made it to the other building and I was getting hungry. I hopped in line for some McD's and then headed to my gate to wait. I had about an 1 1/2 hrs to wait before my flight so I just ate my dinner and watched the other flights take off and land. Now it had stoped raining at this point and I was watching the sunset. At about 8:10 We heard an announcement that our flight was late and we were going to be delayed 30 minutes. Ok no big deal... we would be leaving at 9:10 instead of 8:40 or so we thought.

After making it on the plane at 8:40 and going through the safety percautions we pulled away from the gate heading for the runway. Thats when we heard the dreaded news..."airspace is restricted above Washington DC and all flights are down due to the storm". Ugh more delays. The captain couldnt tell us when we would take off or if we even would. The captain was really nice he came out to talk to us and made sure we were all comfortable. Oh and did I mention that there were only 35 of us on the flight home!! I had my own row again! Anyway we ended up sitting on the runway for 2 1/2 hrs!! So making our delays 3 hrs late! I should of been home by the time we finally took off! Oh well it made for a interesting story. I don't know how much you can see in this picture but this is what I was looking at for 2 1/2 hours.
3daygetaway707285.jpg

We finally took off at 11:30 and landed at 2:30am. I actually fell asleep on the ride home dreaming of being back in Disney. When I got off the plane I headed down to the luggage pickup and mine was the 3rd one off. I grabbed my suitcase and headed outside to meet my mom who was picking me up.

And thats the end of my 3 day adventure! I hope you all enjoyed reading about my getaway. If you want to follow me on my next adventure I have a pre-trip report started for my trip in October for my first MNSSHP and an Official dis-meet!I would love for you to read along, just click this link!!!

Thanks again for reading!!!

It is always sad when a trip ends.:sad2: You are going back soon though which is great! That is terrible that your flight was delayed for so long. It must have been incredibly boring sitting there on the runway for 2 1/2 hours:scared1:

I am going to go check out your pre-trip report now!

I am a very patient person in general, but for some reason, sitting on the airplane on the ground at the airport is enough to drive me CRAZY!!!! I hate it!

I'm sad your trip is over. On my way to your pre-trip!

Your right It's always sad when your trip is over. I've learned that I must always have a trip planned or else I will go nuts. Lol I'm actually really lucky to be able to travel as much as I do. I figure I will go now while I can before I really have to settle down and have a career and family.

Yeah! Go check out the pre-trippie! I would love to have to join me

I REALLY hate leaving. I'm just now starting to get over my post-WDW depression!

It usually rains when we leave Disney also, and we also say it must be because we're leaving! :lmao:

:scared1: That is a LONG delay!!! Luckily it was on the way home. One time I was delayed on the way TO Disney, where I was meeting my family who had already been there for a few days! The delay almost did me in!:rotfl:
