My husband and I will be going on our first cruise ever this May and I have a few questions about the 3 day cruise. We are thinking about just staying on the boat in Nassau or just taking a quick carriage ride in the morning and spending the rest of the day on the ship.

1. First, do they drain the pool when in port?
2. Do they have activities on the ship while in port?
3. Will they have the wine tasting at Palo anytime during the 3-day cruise?
4. Will we really miss out on something if we choose to stay on the ship while at Nassau?
5. Has anyone done a carriage ride on Nassau? If so was it worth the money?
6. We are thinking of doing Palo one night. Which restaurant would you replace it with?

Well, that's it for now. Thanks to everyone for all the great advice and answers to my silly questions.

Eva I can answer some of your questions not all because I haven't been on a 3 day cruise since they started the 7 day ones. We found that 3 days is just not enough time.

No they do not drain the pools while in port.
Yes they still have activities going on.
Sorry, not sure about the wine tasting.
I can only give you my opinion on Nassua, you will not be missing a thing.
I would check the menus on www.castawayclub.com to decide on what dining room to miss. Or maybe book ressie at Palo late one night and try not to eat to much at your first dinner. Palo is a must do.

I have gone on 3 Wonder cruises (all for 3 days) and enjoyed it best when I stayed on the ship at Nassau. We tried the carriage ride and didn't care for it. It goes through a very busy, noisy section of town. The driver is trying to give you some historical info but I couldn't hear it over the honking of the car horns. The people are crazy drivers and I felt bad for the horses having to walk through that mess!
I have not done the wine testing but they definately offered it on our last cruise and I have heard good things about it.
And yes, there is plenty to do on board ship if you choose to stay! Check out the Navigators on Barb's website for details www.Castawayclub.com.
Enjoy your cruise! You will love it!

We took the carriage ride through town while on the 3 day in 1998. Nothing too special, but we did enjoy it. We are not crazy about Nassau, but felt that we should at least experience something while we were docked there. I f you do take the ride make sure you have correct change to pay the driver, or if you have a large bill demand to see change from him before leaving. We were "taken" by a cab driver when I tried to pay a $7.00 fare with a $20 bill. "Sorry, I don't have change". I know he was lying, but what can you do?

Have Fun-
