Hey everyone. I am a starving college student and planning a trip for myself, my boyfriend and best friend. We will be going next May/June 2004 for 7 Nights and 8 Days. We are going with the town car and stopping at a grocery to get some snacks. Throughout most of the trip we will be eating cheap eats but would like to plan a couple really nice dinners even one really really nice night where we could dress up quite a bit. Let me know if you can help with any tips. Also what type of reservations need to be made - what kind of time frame?

For a dress up dinner I'd pick California Grill. It is expensive but can be more reasonable if you pick a flatbread and an appetizer for instance. The view is wonderful.

The buffets can be a good deal if you're big eaters. Another idea is to have nice meals at lunch. Lunch is usually much less expensive and you can enjoy the magic of WDW dining.

For resorts, Epcot and MGM lunch you can call and make PSs 120 days before the date you wish to dine. For MK restaurants and I believe MGM dinners, it's 60 days out. I hope you have a magical trip!:D

Be sure to try Bomas at AKL. It is a great buffet and the atmosphere at AKL is second to none! have a great trip.

I would check out the dining menus and the prices so you will have a better idea of the prices and can budget according to that. If you have not been to WDW or at least on a trip where you paid youself, you might be surprised at the cost. If cost if not a factor in these special meals, I too suggest california grill and timming your meal so you can see the fireworks from MK. People tend to dress up more at the resort resturants than at the park resturants. Have a blast.

I'm also a college student and I would, like mentioned, research a little about the restuarants so you know everyone will be pleased with the food selection and price. You could go to a book store and find a disney guide book in the travel section, that is if you enjoy going out to search, or you could look at the various Disney sites online.

My suggestions would be The Kona Cafe , and O'haunas (get lots of food here) at the Polynesian Resort. I have never had a bad meal at either place, have enjoyed the atmosphere, and they have a pretty good variety of food to choose from. Wolfgang Pucks in Downtown Disney (the sit down area) is also very good. There is also a pizza bar and sushi bar which can be fun and there is also a wide variety of food and awesome free bread appetizers...yummy!

If you want to try a buffet, I suggest Chef Mickey's at the Contemperary. The food isn't the greatest i've ever had i'll admit, but it is always quite fun there with the characters all over and the celebration party every half hour.

Good luck in planning!

Hey guys... Anyone familar with 'Drinking around the world'. Has anyone tried this? What types of drink specials do you guys know about? Any special drinks out there that (even though they might be expensive) are worth trying? We'll all be just turned 21 for the trip and want to make it special. Also any info on Pleasure Island would help. Thanks! :D
