3 Caballeros, 11 nights, 4 parks, 1 world & lots of PICS!!!!

Those plushes are awesome. Do they have a new movie coming out with Merlin?

Ok, where were we...Oh yes, little mermaid. With the show over, the others had their fastpass return so they dashed off to take in the ride. I wasn't entirely sure what to do while I waited so I wandered around a couple of the stores.

Block Party Bash was starting which made walking 'interesting'. It's not my favourite parade (I miss Stars and Cars) but there was a limit to where I could go and still meet the others, so I figured I'd take a look. I actually enjoyed it more this time...probably partly because my expectations were lower and partly because I was in a good viewing spot. Anyway, here's some photos.

And a few more because it's a parade and...well just because :-)

Those plushes are awesome. Do they have a new movie coming out with Merlin?

No, he's just the mascot. It's called Merlin's Expedition Knowledge. We have a binder of information for cast in store called PK Library (hence he's holding a PK book) and Merlin is always on the cover...so when they launched the competition three years ago, Merlin became the mascot/judge :) The plush were only made for the European competition district winners and are all individually numbered. Then they have the year embroidered on before the country finals. If I can hook them out sometime I'll take a photo of the pinbadges they've done for the store winners each year.

As the parade disappeared I crossed the street into the store opposite and the others came to meet me. We were near the hat so we decided to go on a classic - The Great Movie Ride. Now as a teenager I remember having to queue forever for this ride but we were on in about ten minutes. Makes me kinda sad really to think it's not so popular. Still, I'm a movie girl so I love it.

P4270355.jpg

One of my all-time favourite movies is 'Aliens' so this made me smile.

Jenni loves the Wizard of Oz so she was singing along loudly!

P4270387.jpg

Whatta you do when you come off the ride? Why pose for another photopass photo of course!
Photo0119.jpg

We decided to wander around to the Backstage Tour area and on route we saw that we could still get fastpasses for Toy Story Mania. Yeah, I know, We were shocked to get them too. I think they were for around 5ish, anyway, it gave us time to go do something else first.

As we exited the fastpass machine area, we bumped into the Green Army Men. I had to laugh because he signed my autograph book upside down *rolls eyes*. Oh well...

P4270390.jpg

P4270392.jpg

We initially headed round to go on the backstage tour like we'd planned but we looked at the times and ran the risk of missing our TS Mania fastpass slot, so we decided against it.

P4270393.jpg

Instead, we went to catch the Indiana Jones show (which I love). The others really enjoyed it too and we got great seats considering we walked in 5 mins before the start. Ok, phototime...

Dinner that night was at the Prime Time Cafe. I've been here before but obviously the others hadn't.

P4280452.jpg

We had fun and yes, I got picked on a LOT!! I was left to set the table, got grilled on whether I'd eaten all my food etc. This it the others taking the mickey out of me because I'd been 'bad'.

P4280455.jpg

And this was our YUMMY dessert. Well, Andy and I had this, can't remember what Jenni had.
P4280458.jpg

By now it was pretty late and we were tired so we decided to leave. Stopping of course for some shopping and one more photopass photo.

Photo0134.jpg

Oh and on the way out we saw this 'dead' bird.
P4280463.jpg

It became a running joke and yes it was still there when we went back a few days later. Oh, incase anyone can't see and is worried it was a plush bird on display not an actual dead bird.

We got up fairly early and headed straight for Animal Kingdom. I have been well taught by the forum boards so we made our way over to Africa to get fastpass tickets for the Kilimajaro Safari.

P4280466.jpg

We did stop on route though for our first photopass photos of the day.

Photo0153.jpg

And we met a friend

Oh and yes, the photographer did ask if it was 'purple day' which made us smile and decide we would have a purple day at a later date!

With our fastpass tickets ready, we had about twenty minutes before the timeslot, so we headed down the Pangani Forest Trail.

We got through quicker than we thought and still had five more minutes to wait. So we did our normal thing...headed into the shop!

Then we did one of my favourite things at Disney - the Safari. Photo time

You guys look like you have such a fun time.

I see a count down in your signature. Do you have another trip planned?

Yep :dance3: I'm going with my best mate again and another friend for his 40th. We're going for 18 nights next April/May. I'm gonna start a pre-trippie soon (just gonna finish this first) cause we're in full planning mode and I've started making things LOL

That will be so fun!

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it cause much as these two had fun they didn't 'get' the magic at WDW in the same way I do. I like talking to other guests and wandering for ages, soaking up the atmosphere, etc...they were more into the rides. Still fun just different. Very excited about next year. Gonna write more on this tomorrow. Long day today made longer by the fact I forgot to change the clock on my alarm back an hour so I work up at 5am :rolleyes1

I love all the updates (I've just finished the past couple of updates!). Also, the Merlin plushies are amazing and the photos with the Green Army man are hilarious.

Exiting the Safari we headed over to the train to Conservation Station. I like the area but to be perfectly honest, I probably wouldn't head over there so eagerly if Pocahontas wasn't normally found there. She's my favourite!

We got there as she was disappearing so I queried when she would be back. It wasn't going to be for a while but we figured as we'd come all the way out here we might as well wait. She's one of Andy's favourites too.

While waiting we looked at some of the exhibits up there.

P4280531.jpg

P4280532.jpg

P4280534.jpg

And then we grabbed a sandwich. It was nice but I do think they are missing out a little by not having a better food option up there.

Finally, Pocahontas came out and we were first in the line. We did get a little freaked out while waiting because there was kinda a crazy Pocahontas stalker next in line. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for enthusiastic fans...I am one...but this lady/girl was at the obsessed, genuinely believes they are 'real' bit. I know they are real but... Anyway, she spent the whole remaining wait time (twenty mins) trying to tell me all about Pocahontas and when I finally got a bit fed up and said that I'd worked on the original promotional campaign for Pocahontas (Pocahontas Animation Discovery Adventure) she completely blanked it and continued. I gave up LOL.

P4280540.jpg

P4280541.jpg

We were able to jump into the line for Rafikki too, without a long wait, so we met him as well.

P4280551.jpg

Andy and Jenni were keen to see the Lion King show so we left Conservation Station and headed towards Camp Mickey Minnie instead. On route, Andy spotted Daisy.

P4280552.jpg

We had to wait for the show to start and guess who we bumped into *LOL*.

P4280553.jpg

We finally made it inside for the show, which was really good. I actually like it a lot more than I had last time...maybe because I knew what I was expecting this time.

Photo time (sorry not great - no flash)

After the show we decided to head towards 'Asia'. On route we checked the exhibits on the island and the only thing I got (besides birds) was this bottom LOL

P4280587.jpg

Eventually making it to Asia the others grabbed fastpass tickets for Expedition Everest. I whimped out at this point...hate that 'freefall' feeling. They had a little wait so we decided to go on the Maharajah Jungle Trek. I love this trek because of the tigers (oh and I love bats too).

P4280621.jpg

They both really enjoyed it and started trying to convince me to go on it. I said I 'might' next time we were at AK.

While we were in the area we figured we'd go to Dinoland and ride T-Rex. We all loved this and couldn't stop laughing the whole time we were on it...yes I did say laughing. Not because we thought it was bad or anything, we were just having so much fun and laughing at ourselves for shrieking etc.

On the way back towards Discovery Island we popped into the shop and Jenni found her new faves...

P4280622.jpg

love the face of the lady behind LOL

We had some time so we figured we'd try the Discovery trail. I've never done this and I don't know why, it's lovely.

We had a dinner reservation at Boma that night so we made our way casually out of the park to the buses. Stopping at the shop on route (naturally).

P4280664.jpg

I love Boma. If you've not eaten there I highly recommend it. In fact, I love it so much I totally forgot to take any photos. Jenni finally reminded me when we were on dessert, so here's my one food porn pic.

Did you guys have to change your clocks this weekend? Ours is next weekend

Yep we did. Extra hour in bed always good...just have to remember to change ALL the clocks :rolleyes1

Andy had read about T-Rex online and got very excited (Aparently he's a dinosaur fan but I didn't know that). Anyway, I booked a lunch there as a surprise. He...as you can tell...was very excited.

If you've not eaten in the restaurant, think 'Rainforest Cafe with dinosaurs'. It's kinda cool actually cause they have different sections. We were in the underwater or ocean section but I think the coolest bit (no pun intended) is the ice cave that changes colour. I could see it from my seat. They also have a meator shower every twenty mins or so, where patterns go across the screens, the dinosaurs roar, etc. Here's some pics of the restaurant.
